I have been very impressed with the service received at John Shepherd whilst arranging my letting for a new flat. Both Drew and Claire have both been extremely helpful and professional. There is a real thoroughness and professionalism to the service I’ve received. I felt very confident in the whole letting process. My only critiques would be that the professional cleaning that the previous tenant was meant to do had not been carried out and a smoke detector that was bleeping whilst viewing the property had not been fixed when I moved in approx 2 months later. Also the references AI chat system they use via Goodlord is a little bit hard to use and crashed a couple of times when I used it. However, any issues I’ve had John Shepherd have been very helpful- especially Drew. Would definitely use them again to let or to buy a property.

We are first time buyers who were quite hesitant about going through this process. Our estate agent Gurdev Sondh from the Shirley office really went the extra mile to secure the property for us. She regularly called to give updates and also advised us well. There were many delays and bumps in the road, however Gurdev's positive attitude and competency got us through and into our lovely new home.

TBH not a great start with John Sheppard, the communication was distinctly lacking, problems we were told would be fixed before we moved in weren’t and it wasn’t until the threat of withholding rental money made them sit up and pay attention. We were not informed of the portal process for registering issues until I complained so was then duly emailed the link for it. There were 3 adults on the tenancy but we were only issued with a single front door key and told that it was our responsibility to get further keys cut but we must make sure we handed them in at the end of the rent. So not the most auspicious start!Then came along Lauren, she was incredibly helpful, any issues were raised and dealt with immediately, nothing was a problem and she dutifully kept is informed all the way. So our message to JS is to look to your brightest employees to see what customer service is, if we had dealt with Lauren from the start you would have got the full 5 stars.

GoogleWas booked to view a property, left city centre to arrive back for viewing. Called agent to find out where they were, was told they had been trying to call me but I kept declining the call, when I advised I hadn’t been called & I wouldn’t have declined their call as I’d been driving to viewing, was suggested I was lying. Told me they’d emailed me to ask if I was attending, they had emailed me at 1655hrs whilst I was driving to viewing due at 1715. The call I made to branch was 1720. Was then put on hold whilst she went to check with Olga who was meant to be conducting viewing, came back on line to advise Olga was at another viewing! Was then asked as an afterthought if I wanted to rebook for another day…. Absolute shocking service!!! No show. Called a liar. Then lied about where the agent was. If this is the agent you are considering using to sell or let your property, I urge you to seriously reconsider as this is the customer service they provide.

I find working with John Shepherd Estate Agents mainly seamless. In particular I find dealing with Christina Williams very reassuring and comforting. She always responds to my queries promptly and professionally. Her service is so reassuring. Thank you Christina, a 5 star rating for you. JS keeps me informed of the things that need to be attended to. They found me tenants in no time. I would have given them a 5 star rating had it not been of the fact that sometimes they use very expensive contractors to do mandatory jobs which costs me more money than I need to fork out.
