We recently completed on a property sale exactly one year after our buyer made their offer. The sale was managed by Maureen Forde and her team in the East Ham branch, who showed remarkable patience in the face of stubborn tenants, protracted legal proceedings, and occasional angry emails from me! We were looked after by three Sales Progressors, all of whom were proactive, respectful and sympathetic. I would definitely recommend Douglas to anyone looking to sell in E6 and E16.

Great In Every Way.

We signed up with another local estate agent and after some viewings we accepted and offer below the asking price but as we needed to move forward with a new build. After 4 weeks we discovered that the buyers couldn't get a mortgage, and the estate agent had known this for over a week before we found out. Contacted Douglas Allen (Chingford) and Glenn was round the following Wednesday with lots of encouragement and an action plan. And true to his word we had people queuing out the door on the Saturday! twenty odd viewings and 3 offers. Over the next few days we had more viewings and another offer. Offer then accepted and all go on the new build, we can't thank all the staff at Douglas Allen for the professional and excellent service they have provided to us. I know there are cheaper options out there but for the peace of mind and brilliant service they provided there is no doubt in my mind they would be my first choice.

Efficient honest competent and personable.

This company contacted me when I was searching for property and asked if I was intending to sell, would I like a valuation. Within a few days someone came to my flat, valued it and suggested terms for selling which were agreed. I was expecting viewings to go on for some weeks but the interest that was created meant that an acceptable offer was made after about a week and a half. There was some communication problem for a while but this was due to their Dalston office closing at short notice. Now things are going well and the sale is proceeding and communication is good. My particular thanks to Jat and Danielle Bourne.

Hello! My review is for Maria Ticehurst who works at Douglas Allen in Wanstead. Maria has been amazing at helping find me and my partner the perfect home for quite some time now. It has been a very bumpy ride with lot's of emotions but Maria has helped us through it all with her kind ways and commitment to finding us exactly what we have been looking for! She has never let us down with staying in touch and booking endless viewings for properties she thinks will suit our needs, and finally we have found the one for us! Thanks to Maria we stuck it out and now we know everything happened for a reason. She really is amazing, someone who is very easy to speak to and communicate with and also extremely reliable. I found myself calling Douglas Allen weekly prior to finding our house and I would just ask for Maria as I trusted her and knew that she understood what me and my partner wanted - I think she got us! :) It's so nice knowing you have built a relationship and trust with someone when it comes to something that's personal and a very big deal! Excellent Customer Service

We began looking for properties in the Wanstead area and dealt with Maria at Douglas Allen. She was extremely helpful and showed a genuine interest in wanting to help us find the perfect home. She called us regularly to see how we were getting on with our search even if she never had anything new for us. Unfortunately, we did not find our home through Douglas Allen. However, because of the great service we received, we used the solicitors that she recommended to us, who helped us get into our new home in the fastest possible time and with a limited amount of stress. Thank you Maria and Douglas Allen, I would happily recommend you to our friends.

Very disapointed!

We were told that Douglas Allen were the best agents to sell our property, and that by using them we would have a stress free experience, high customer care and professionalism at all times! Having lived in our home for 39 years, and having to move only because of mobility problems, a stress free experience and top class customer care were top of our agenda, unfortunately Douglas Allen have not delivered, and now we are tied into a 20 week contract, having to just make the best of a bad situation, for which we have to pay for the privilege of poor customer service, endless excuses and anything but "STRESS FREE"! Saying all that, there is one member of staff who has stopped us from going totally insane, (thank you Ian).

Valuation review

We short listed 2 agents to consider putting our house on the market with. Was considering the idea of an open house as described by your employee. However the administration process that should have followed was shocking. I had to chase on 2 occasions for the letter by post or email that confirmed the valuation, which to this day, several weeks later has never arrived. The email never arrived and all I received was a one liner giving the valuation amount. Not very professional at all. I would be paying Douglas Allen to do all the work, not expect to have to chase up. Not a good impression. The star rating above is not totally accurate. Their was no friction during the meeting, however it was an inadequate experience.

It's the little things that make a difference.

I'm not going to say that selling and buying our house wasn't stressful but what I can say is that the team at the Wanstead Branch of Douglas Allen really made it as straight forward as possible for us. From the first visit from Ray it felt as if they really listen to us. They were the only agency to turn up on time, they listened to what we were looking for and as we were buying and selling through them (I would highly recommend) they had a clear idea of our budget. They work around us at all times, I must have mentioned once that I took our daughter to swimming at the weekends and they never forgot this. When ever we had questions they were at the end of a phone, Nathan and Maria were brilliant dealing with the buying and selling or our old and new home and all the guys in the office knew us by name. But, the icing on the cake was Janine, she chased our lawyers, kept us updated at least once a week and put up with a lot of stupid questions from myself. She was amazing and I honestly feel that we could still be waiting to complete on our new home if it wasn't for her efforts on our behalf. I would 100% recommend Douglas Allen, and already have. We moved into our new home in February, I recommended a family friend to Nathan and the team and they have already sold her property for her and she couldn't be happier. A massive thank you from the Mottram family!

Douglas Allen were a nice company to deal with. They were not your typical pushy agent but they were assertive. There were a few problems throughout the legal process once we had sold but Keith took each one in his stride with Steve taking a hard line with our buyers when they started delaying the process.
