GoogleI will never recommend this estate agent to anybody the way they treated us was appalling repairs took a long time to be carried out they were quick enough to accuse us on leaving the house in a mess even though we made it clean and tidy before we left it was spotless when we left we also had to clean the house out before we could move in because other people's belongings were in there and it wasn't clear that by the estate agent which it should have been we also had to remove a shed that as falling down and could have hurt somebody that's a rotten it was this estate agent has all these responsibilities and does not do them absolutely poor service and they were reluctant to give our deposit back even though the house was in poor condition poorly maintained by the landlord we also out of our own pocket replaced the bathroom floor once again absolutely poor service

GoogleUseless and unprofessional. We encountered and reported several maintenance issues in our rented property which were either sorted months after reporting or not at all. We decided to leave the property early because of all the problems we had encountered and homebuyers agreed to us leaving but then charged us extra for doing so! When it came to giving deposits back, they tried to charge us for maintenance issues that we had reported at the beginning of our tenancy that were never fixed! They also tried to charge us for missing items that never existed in the first place. They ended up taking money off our deposits for cleaning (which didn’t need to take place in the first place) and sent us a forged invoice from a made up company. I am so glad we left this awful company. DO NOT RENT WITH THESE CROOKS

Dear Zoe We are disappointed you felt the need to leave this review however you have missed some important facts regarding your tenancy presumably as they would leave you with nothing to complain about. You did not as you claim leave due to maintenance issues you bought a house and we then negotiated on your behalf so that you were able to terminate your tenancy 4 months early. You agreed to the terms laid out by the landlord which included paying rent until the date the new tenant we found for the property moved in. You then changed your move out date but did not want to pay the additional rent that would then be due to the landlord at which point you fell out with us and began accusing us of “profiteering” despite the fact that your rent is due to your landlord not us! You then failed to clean the property inline with the inventory you agreed to at the start of tenancy despite us reminding you in writing so cleaners had to be sent in. This happened. Your claim that the invoice was faked is ridiculous. Any monies claimed from a deposit go to the landlord not us. We have no motivation at all to create fake invoices for no benefit. Photographic evidence of each cleaning issue was presented to you in full and you agreed to the claim! We register deposits with the DPS who provide free adjudication but you didn’t contest the claim once in receipt of the evidence against you. No claim was made for maintenance/repairs or missing items from your deposit. Your motivation for leaving this review is highly questionable as it appears you have not grasped that deposit claims are made on the instructions of the landlord and no amount of shouting or threatening towards us would give us the authority to change a claim a landlord made against you. The reason the DPS who hold the deposit provide free adjudication is so tenants can dispute a claim they feel is unjustified. The fact that you did not do this speaks for itself. It would have been more appropriate to apologise for your unfounded accusations throughout the early termination of your tenancy and failure to return the property in a clean state, unfortunately you have decided to take another approach. We hope on reflection you will reconsider your behaviour and amend the review to a more factually accurate one or remove it all together.

GoogleFantastic service for over 10 years. Very thorough house inspections. Homebuyers ensured that any issues with the property were also reported to me promptly and they also supported with ensuring all repairs were undertaken with little delay. Overall, incredibly supportive and professional staff who are in the business of looking after both their landlords and tenants. Would highly recommend to anyone who either wants to rent out a property or is looking for a place to let. Huge thanks to the whole team for all your help over the years.

GoogleBrilliant service from beginning to end. Comprehensive well researched valuation and excellent communication throughout. Helped get our sale over the line during difficult Covid restrictions. Took advantage of their ‘upfront discounted fee’ option to reduce sale costs. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Martin & the team, obviously very knowledgable & skilled at what they do.

GoogleAbsolutely appalling service. DO NOT USE THIS ESTATE AGENTS. Extremely rude and unhelpful staff working both in the shop and running the emails. When returning the keys from a rented property the member of staff who we handed them to should not be working in a customer based environment. She was quite possibly the rudest person i have ever had to deal with. After dealing with multiple estate agents over the years i can honestly say this is the worst estate agent i have ever dealt with.

GoogleWe rented a property through Homebuyers for 3 years. Their fees were reasonable and we were able to go onto a rolling contract at the end of our initial period. They were always polite and professional, responding to emails and calls quickly and resolving any issues. When we gave notice to leave, they provided useful information on the process and tips on how to reduce the risk of deposit deductions. Finally, despite us leaving just before Xmas, they managed to get the house inspection and any remedial works done quickly so we could get our deposit back with minimum delay, plus the deductions that were made were fair and proportionate.

GoogleMe and my partner are moving to Pudsey from Carlisle and were in town for a couple of days to find a home to rent. We are not overly familiar with the area so visited 4 local agencies to see what was available. We were both very impressed with the staff at Homebuyers who actually spent a decent amount of time with us showing us what was available and explaining about the locality and what we could expect when we move here shortly. Please to confirm that we also found the perfect place to move into and we both can't wait. Keep up the great work.

View AgentsBe prepared to fight for your deposit back
After a decent service from Homebuyers during our tenancy, we had a very negative ending to our tenancy. Homebuyers wanted to take approx 90% of our deposit, complaints included scuffs to the mail box and plug sockets, a ridiculous cleaning fee (£300 on a 2 bed terrace) despite us spending hours cleaning which included using a rug doctor on the property before we left. No concerns were ever raised following inspections during our tenancy, however the final inspection was damning and extremely negative. We genuinely looked after this property and loved out time there, we may as well have trashed the place before we left given the final inspection. Also Homebuyers refused to let us return to the property to rectify anything. However we did dispute this with DPS and we got our full deposit back. We didn't have photos of the property, having never been in this situation before we didn't think we'd need to and we were confident we'd looked after the place, so we lacked evidence but still won the dispute. Homebuyers will warn you that you can be charged if you take forward a dispute, DPS were quick to tell us otherwise so please if you're in the same situation that we were in, go to a third party and take it forward formally, as I said we got our fill deposit back. Interestingly the reviews from landlords are very positive and not so much from tenants, its clearly a bias service. Unfortunately as a tenant renting a property, I can not recommend Homebuyers.

GoogleA big thank you to all at homebuyers. I have been using homebuyers to buy, sell and rent for years now and have always returned for the professional and knowledgeable service but my latest project has easily been the most challenging and homebuyers have helped every step of the way. From advising on values prior to completion, finding tenants, managing tenancies, dealing with totally uncooperative utility companies and then selling the whole site as an ongoing concern they have been excellent throughout. The last few years would have been so much more difficult to manage if it had not been for their ongoing concern and dedication. Again thank you to every one of the team.

GoogleSaw a local property go up for sale and wanted a nosey however the website was painfully slow and would not bring up properties. Tried a few times over the space of a week until I saw the house had a sold sign on it. Good for the sellers it went so fast but not for people that can't look at properties through the website.
