I recently used Reeds Rains Preston to find an property to rent in the City. The service was amazing, I asked to a view a property at short notice which they accommodated and meant I was able to find a home I love. Worst experience of my life! Update: Please read the review below before reading this update. After posting my review, Reeds Rains have responded by claiming that they have spoken to myself (which they have not) and that I have said this review was not posted by myself. This is a complete lie. They have gone on to claim that the events as described do not correlate with their records. This is another lie. It amazes me that after taking our case to the Ombudsman, and winning, Reeds Rains still don't apologise. Instead they try to claim this review is fabricated. Astonishing to read this response and it only backs up the unprofessional attitude I received from the company in the first place. I have now uploaded an image of the "Outcome and Proposed Decision" that the Ombudsman sent to myself and Reeds Rains as evidence that my review is true and correct. Review: We attempted to purchase a house through Reeds Rains some time ago now and unfortunately encountered their awful and unprofessional customer service. Thankfully the branch we used, Fulwood - Preston, has now closed down. However, the horrible member of staff we had to mostly deal with, Sue Taylor, now works in the Fishergate branch. We attempted to put offers in for a particular property but Sue Taylor was extremely obstructive and lied throughout the entire process. At one point Reeds Rains chose to not pass our offer on to the vendor and it was only when we made contact directly with the vendor that this was discovered. The vendor was absolutely appalled by their attitude and even went into the branch to tell them what they thought. It was quite clear throughout the process that Sue Taylor did not want us to purchase this house, although we never found out why, as her attitude was consistently awful. The branch manager told us to go to see our mortgage advisor and get in touch when we had done so. Our Nationwide mortgage advisor kindly called the branch on our behalf. Unfortunately Sue Taylor answered the call and, after he passed on all the information they had asked for, Sue Taylor said "I don't understand why you've called because they are not going to get this property anyway" before slamming the phone down on him. He was understandably shocked. After some time we eventually got our offer accepted only to be told at the last minute that the other potential buyers had finally decided to match our offer and the vendors had decided to go with them as they were sick of the whole saga. We accepted their decision but it was clear that Reeds Rains cost us the purchase of this property with their underhand tactics and awful customer service. Strangely enough when the property did eventually go through the sale price was £5000 less than what we had offered which only confirmed my suspicions. Disgusted with the service we received we decided to take our case to the ombudsman. Throughout the complaints process Reeds Rains were absolutely terrible, contradicting themselves and refusing to believe they had done anything wrong. The ombudsman ruled in our favour on three separate counts and awarded us our much deserved compensation. Despite the ombudsman ruling that Reeds Rains acted unprofessionally at various points and that they had caused unnecessary emotional stress, never once has anyone at Reeds Rains apologised. I thought when the cheque for our compensation arrived in the post it would be accompanied with an apology but no. What a terrible company from top to bottom. If you ever have to deal with this disgraceful company make sure you get everything in writing and record your phone calls. They do not record their phone calls. If you feel you've been treated badly make sure you complain to the ombudsman!

I would first and foremost like to thank Chris from the Bamberbridge Branch who has been very helpful with providing me information and reassurance that i needed so i could find my dream place. He kindly helped to pass on my information to the Preston Branch when i found a flat i was looking for and kindly kept in touch to ensure everything was going well. We had a lovely Lady by the name of Gemma who took over and helped us get the place of our dreams. The agents at ReedRains work at a professional level and are very hands on. The fast response is amazing. I definitely will recommend this company to everyone, as well as come back in the future. I cannot express how happy i am with the welcoming service I received as a first time tenant. Gemma has been so amazing and i am more than happy that i was able to have a positive relationship with her and trust her with helping me and my partner.

My sale was dealt with by Sue Taylor and I cannot praise her highly enough. There was a problem with my title which conveyancing took an age to sort out, the Land Registry failed to serve notice once and then took weeks to respond. Throughout this, Sue kept in constant touch, kept the pressure on to get things sorted and dealt constantly with my poor stressed out buyer, keeping her in the loop and dealing with a lot of agonised calls from both me and the buyer. She was fantastic. This whole process would have been a lot harder without her. I should add that my house sold in about a month, the pictures arranged by Reeds Rains showed my house to good advantage and everything went very smoothly, aside from the title problem. Overall, I was extremely pleased with the service from Reeds Rains. When I first decided to sell, I posted on Facebook asking who people thought the best estate agent in Preston was and got quite a few responses. All but one said Reeds Rains. I am blown away by the service we received from Reeds Rains in Preston. We had been trying to sell our house with other agents for almost 2 years. We decided to give Reeds Rains a shot at selling it because they had just sold another house on our road - oh my goodness - we noticed a difference in the quality of service from the very first phone call. I noted several favourable reviews for Rebecca Ryding and Lucy Gardener so I thought I would add my comments also. Rebecca and Lucy were incredibly helpful when I found that 2 tenants were leaving my 2 properties and I needed to get new tenants in as swiftly as possible. Rebecca and Lucy energetically showed prospective tenants the two properties and within a very short space of time new tenants moved in.There were a few teething troubles but Rebecca and Lucy really went the extra mile in providing me with advice and help in resolving the problems. This additional service was especially helpful to me as a Non- Resident Landlord. It is not easy to find reliable tradesmen ftom 3500 kms away from Preston. I simply had to leave this review of our experience so far with Reeds Rains and in particular Jake. Moving from one estate agent to another is always a daunting thought and given the previous shambolic experience we were already on edge. Jake is a credit to the business, from the initial contact, through to the valuation appointment he was professional and courteous. He is always is constant contact, providing updates were possible and steps regarding the next processes. The seller is an elderly family member and I can't thank him enough for being so understanding and taking the time to go through all the details, more times than once if needed. We are looking forward to continuing to work closely with Jake throughout this entire process and I'm confident that he will make the remaining part of the journey seamless and stress free. Initially was talking to Aimee about suitable rental properties near Fulwood and was quickly offered two viewings, both with a very kind man who gave us lots of information about the properties. We have decided to apply for one of the properties we viewed and all the staff couldn't be more helpful with the process. We would definitely recommend this company. Edit from 30/07/2023: I now really really recommend using Reeds Rains Estate Agents! We finally made the move from Cornwall to Preston, however, the traffic was terrible and it turned into an 8 hour car journey, instead of 4. Although it was outside of the office opening hours (19:30), Lucy met us outside of our new home to give us the keys and we couldn't be more thankful. A fantastic experience!
