I dont understand half these reviews.. over the past 10 years i've gotten to know each of the members of staff at Guildhall pretty well, they are and have all been in the past genuine human beings and have the time for you if you need it, often out of hours! we all have our busy times and maybe some calls don't get returned when they're busy but in all instances they have sorted what I needed sorting in good time. this is my third house Ive rented from the company, all have been in good state and I have no issues, I did have a small portion of my first deposit deducted but that was our fault and the terms and conditions stated the fact that any carpet cleaning was down to me to pay for, it makes sense to be honest. I fail to understand the complaints towards any deposits taken back for damage caused, that's what the systems there for. keep doing what you're doing guys, you're doing a great job!

Tenants beware!

TENANTS BEWARE. This letting agent is absolutely terrible. ESPECIALLY when it comes to returning your deposit.We have rented a property with Guildhall Preston for 4 years. We have paid them over £30,000 and have been excellent tenants. As we left the property they decided to nitpick on issues. The worst is, they stated the bath sealant (yes, that's right, the bath SEALANT) was mouldy (ever so slightly!) and therefore would need to be re-sealed at a charge of £45. SHOCKING. It is the general consensus of landlords that bath sealant will develop mould, and that after 1 year of tenancy, it becomes a wear & tear issue (check online for proof). For heavens sake, we've just moved into a property where the shower room sealant is full of mould!Also, they NEVER call back when you ask them to, this was during our tenancy and afterwards. They have a tendency to just ignore you. They're rude and speak in a condescending manner. They have absolutely no customer service skills.

Never return phone calls! These guys just never return phone calls unless you give them 15 phone calls chasing them up.Example:12pm - phone call to guild hallMe: Can i speak to GillianChris (Guidhall): She's just having her lunch, she said she'll call you back in an hour.5pm - no phonecallMe: Can I speak to Gillian?Chris: she's gone home.What??And they lie so much.Me: can I speak to Lauren?Chris: Let me see if she's in. *places me on hold*. Where do you need to look to see if she's in Chris, you all sit in one office. You can see if she's in. what he means to say is 'let me see if she wants to talk to you'.Terrible service. Ignorant people.

I have rented from Guildhall for nearly 3 years and they are the best letting agents I've had. Friendly and reliable ladies in the office and always help as much as they can. When leaving my property they did a pre-check out so I would get my full deposit back (they are very understanding on the standards of how a property is left after it's been lived in). Very professional and the best letting agents in Preston.

Guildhall have been amazing agents, I have recently relocated to be closer to family and had a very positive experience at the property I was renting before the relocation. Guildhall were professional, polite, efficient and knowledgeable and when it came to the return of the bond there were no problems or issues and it was returned quickly. The girls are always so friendly and helpful if you have any questions a very smooth, problem free let, very very pleased.

my experience with guildhall lettings is the worse one i have ever experienced they are all a joke eleanor laura and angela i wouldnt recommend anyone rent property from them they were rude ignorant and no help what so ever...i signed up for a property they took my money of me gave me an iventory which was clearly just made up as when i got to the property there was alsorts wrong with it the cooker didnt work the hob was faulty the boiler was making a funny noise there was paint and burns in the carpet and lots of other things none of this was listed clearly just telling lies eleanor came out to look at all this i then got a phone call from angela to be told nothing was going to be done till wednesday why when did i want the cooker clearly the business is run by idiots she said i could start my tenancy from the tuesday of the week after what sort of firm are they running i seeked legal advise to be told they were at fault the property clearly wasnt ready for renting and i shouldnt have signed the tenancy till all jobs complete i did get a full refund and gave them the keys back no apology of any sort for the way i was treated its disgusting all three of them have a bad attitude so anyone thinking of renting from them i would think again they treat you like your an idiot....

dreadful service we are in the process of taken them to court as we had our deposit deducted at a cost of £145 because they said the house was riddled with fleas they said we had cats in the house we have never owned a cat.we are still waiting for our deposit 6 weeks since we moved out my advice stay well clear of these they are very cocky and arrogant people

Pleasant and friendly

I found this letting agency very pleasant to deal with. They were friendly and very flexible to my needs. Although i did not follow through with a property i had paid a holding deposit for, i was not pressured in any way to continue the deal and infact was offered general advice. I felt i could be upfront and honest with the staff. Would deal with Guildhall Lettings again.

I'd give them zero if I could. One of the most incompetent organisations I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. They'll make deductions from your deposit without consulting you first, they are pathetically bad when it comes to communications (both with tenants and landlords) and they regularly fail to deliver on things they say. AVOID AVOID AVOID.
