From the initial phoning to enquire about the house up for sale to receiving the keys the customer service provided by MANN was quite frankly shocking! Upon viewing the property we were told we only have 10 minuets to view, we were rushed through the house by an agent who didn’t seem to know what he was talking about. Didn’t know much information about the house or current owners apart from there is two parking spaces out back and the price it is up for sale. Within this viewing there was multiple things wrong, firstly being told there was two spaces with the property later on we found there was only one but were too far through the purchase of the house if we were to pull out we would loose lots of money from searches and contractors etc.., additionally he was very vocal and harsh about the number of potential viewers looking at the property on that day and we cant spend long within the house and most of all he had a list of personal contact details and full names and phone numbers of all the people who were viewing the house on the table for myself to view which is a clear breach of data protection. I personally do not think 10 minuets for a viewing is long enough to look round a house and have time to take it in. The communication from the whole team at the start to the end was horrendous! Having to repeat yourself to multiple members of the team who clearly don’t communicate with each other, being told you will have a response by the end of the day and it being weeks before you hear anything. I have to say one member of staff alone was very attentive and kind when I managed to speak to her on the phone but no other ‘Sales Negotiator’/ member of the sales team are worth speaking to. Upon enquiring about the parking as directed to by my solicitor due to the discrepancies between the property information told upon viewing and the title documents, I got shouted at down the phone reducing me to tears. From this moment on my partner asked for all correspondence to go through him, obviously this simple request couldn’t be done as they continued to phone and email me. The Sales Negotiator backtracked throughout the whole process! He takes no responsibility for his lack of customer service and disgraceful professionalism. When phoning up to speak to him you would hear him say no I don’t want to speak to them and not get back to you. But when convenient to him, he would phone me consistently over and over again for an update when I was at work! When I felt I was getting no where I asked to be given the managers details or him be given mine, I unfortunately missed his call and then was not able to get back in contact with him and my complaint completely ignored. When picking the keys up, my partner who had never met any of the team within in the office didn’t even get asked of ID or his name. This shows they will willingly give the keys out to the property to anyone who knows the address. This is a major issue that needs addressing immediately! When picking the keys up the individual should have to show ID to prove they have just brought the property. I have heard bad things about the service from MANN but I couldn’t imagine it would have been this bad! The whole staff needs a re shuffle and to be taught how to deal with people, firstly as human beings but secondly from the perspective of the sellers bringing them in money. I would be more than happy for a member of staff within customer relations or the regional manager to get in contact with me to discuss this matter further, to identify the areas in which the staff need improvement. These estate agents should be experts in their field however this doesn’t show. Upon completion I was also phoned up and asked to leave a review by the ‘Sales Negotiator’ dealing with the house sale, however when I was very honest about the disgraceful experience he processed to ask that I left a good review as he was new to the role starting in the summer and this would be beneficial for him, he asked me to please only write the positives.

Very disappointing experience from a High street agent

Intial consultation seemed positive but things then went downhill as floor plans needed repeated correction and appointed photographer seemed uninspired and uninterested. Several images needed replacing by agenciesphone shots. The online description contained missing text, errors and general failure to inspire prospective buyers. Then followed weeks of silence, a couple of marketing reports,when requested, but no viewings and no feedback. Desperately disappointing.

No wonder the majority of reviews on here are atrocious. The Beckenham Branch is the worst kind of estate agent experience you could wish for. They cancel appointments, but never bother to call back to rearrange. Every person you speak to tells you a different story, lies, lies, lies. Where is the management and leadership?

Worst estate agent in England. Moved into a new place that was provided by MAN. The place was trashed. Mould everywhere furniture all smashed. When calling them for help they said it wasn’t their problem. These guys are clearly in it for the commissions. No pride in their work. I have dealt with a lot of estate agents up to now and I can say that Mann estate agents has been head and shoulders above the rest. As I was a buyer they kept me informed on a an almost weekly basis as well as liaising with my solicitor. The staff were very pleasant throughout and even the sold sign was taken away sharpish. All in all a pleasing experience.

Just plain incompetent

Just plain incompetent it seems…we put out home on the market with Mann, Paul Goldsmith to be precise, who came across as a genuine and upfront guy… Then the fun started which immediately made us feel uneasy…the photographs done were ok, but the layout drawings were wrong (from supposedly an architect moonlighting when work was slack, doing pictures for estate agents!). The write-up they did was poor to say the least, so I wrote one and insisted it was put out in place of theirs… Initially they said they had people lining up to view property in our road, but it was almost two weeks before the first viewing…which they insisted doing as ‘that was best’…and asked if we could vacate the property whilst they did the viewings… we had three viewings, and invariably Anne Underwood. who was managing the viewings, was late… we had potential buyers parked outside, us waiting to leave in our car, and all waiting on Anne Underwood…!! She handled two viewings, neither of which made an offer, and Paul Goldsmith handled the first viewing, with the same result… I handled the fourth viewing myself, as I was told by Anne Underwood that she had someone in the area who would like to view, but simply could not handle it…!! So I handled it myself, and guess what, yes I sold my own home… Since this time, having decided to go with Mann’s own ‘Conveyancing Direct’ legal service to handle both the sale and our purchase, it’s been a disaster… almost zero contact, except for an occasional email from the ‘legal team’…not being able to get through in the phone, after being redirected by ‘customer service’, the phone just rings and rings or you are cut off… Having had such poor service I asked Mann at their Rochester office for updates, thinking I was paying them almost 6k for a service, but hardly ever heard from them…so the upshot of that was they simply did not answer emails, or when phoning, they were all so incredibly busy, no one was available to talk to you…except for Ben…who I must admit was always polite in the phone…I was advised (warned) by another estate agent that Mann’s were poor, but just took this as professional rivalry…I now wish I had listened to him… I WOUOD NOT RECOMMEND MANN COUNTRYWIDE TO ANYONE, EITHER FOR SELLING YOUR PROPERTY (OR BUYING INLESS THEY ARE THE SOLE AGENTS AND ITS THE HOME FOR YOU)…AND DO NOT USE CONVEYANCING DIRECT, WHICH IS THE ‘COUNTRYWIDE’ GROUPS IN-HOUSE l PROPERTY CONVEYANCERS…THEY ARE, HOW CAN I SAY IT, JUST PLAIN USELESS…AND ALMOST COMPLETELY NON-CONTACTABLE, AND DO NOT RETURN CALLS OR CALL YOU EVEN WHEN THEY SAY THEY NEED TO SPEAK TO YOU, SO BEWARNED…!!

Daren has worked professionaly at all times, he has kept me updated, advised, and he was always prompt at replying to my emails and phone calls, even though he was handling multiple properties and clients. Daren always came across as a genuine man, and I knew he had my best interests at heart. I wouldn't hesitate to refer Daren to my friends and family, if they were selling / buying properties in the future.
