Just completed on my house sale with Hathways they were brilliant from start to finish. I had a recommendation from another estate agents in the beginning of what they thought my house should be on the market for which I disagreed with. I asked Hathways to come and look. And luckily I did, they got me in access of 25k more than the other agent suggested on literally the second day it was on the market. They supported me start to finish and can’t recommend them enough.

Hathways find us a house in Cwmbran but, on the day we handed the keys back to our previous residence of which we have proof we left it in showroom condition, Hathways did the following. I was driving a lorry with all of our possessions to Cwmbran only to be called by a Hathways agent ( male ), to be informed that the house we had agreed and paid referencing and a deposit for had fallen through. To add insult to injury, the ' agent ', went on to say " well I am going home in 15 minutes ", hardly a caring touch, maybe we could have stayed in a bus stop for all they cared. Eventually, a house was found that cost £70 pounds a month more, had negative gas and electric of which Hathways knew about but must have thought we were retarded to believe, specifically when another agent of theirs ( female ), could not light the boiler due to the utilities being in the red but also knew exactly how much we needed to shell out to put this right. Just for one more boot in the balls, the female agent declared we owed another £70 for the deposit. It is lucky the landlord of the premises took over the management of the property as we would not trust Hathways with a dead cat. Estate agents are the scum of the earth. and these are no different.

I have been renting through Hathways for many years now and all I have for them is high praise. The staff are extremely helpful, returning calls, emails promptly and efficiently. Whenever I've had any issues with my property it has always been dealt with in a professional manner. So if you're looking to rent look no further. I am delighted to say that my house sale has just completed with Hathways and they achieved £28,000 more for me than the lowest valuation I had from the other agents. The quality of the photographs and the way they marketed the property made a huge difference. Whilst our transaction has been challenging to say the very least, Hathways have remained calm, reassuring and extremely responsive to questions and queries. Hathways estate agent of Cwmbran has a poor reputation in the Torfaen area as a nightmare landlord from Hell we only found this out when it was too late this cowboy outfit called Hathways almost destroyed my daughter’s and granddaughter’s life with the unfit property they rented her full of mould and would not repairs faults, She also had a problem of harassment from them as well Two words describe them "ROUGE LANDLORD"

They do not do enough to protect tenants from rouge landlords. I moved into a property in 2018. The property had not been cleaned and the garden was an overgrown mess. The estate agent assured me at the time the garden was going to be sorted but that did not happen and I sorted it myself, throughout my time at the property I encountered several problems which should have been sorted by the landlord ie broken garden fence, broken front door and a drain issue. I contacted the estate agents multiple times and was always told I need to contact the landlord directly - which I did and was often ignored. On leaving the property the landlord put in a claim for the majority of my bond, his reason being I did not look after the garden, when in fact the garden was in a better state than when I aquired the property. The estate agents where no help at all with the bond situation - telling me I need to talk to the landlord. It wasn't until I threated legal action that they responded with the details of my bond. I lost the majority of the bond as I had no proof of the garden when I took on the property and if I were to fight the landlords claim I'd probably had ended up with nothing. Overall a terrible experience and I will not be letting through Hathways again.
