Renting a property from Connells has been a nightmare from the start. I was not advised of birds living in the loft, despite asking. Days later I was begging for pest control as I had found droppings outside and in the loft. I thought they were mice. Turned out to be bats. Neighbours told me the property had severe issues. Nobody told me the truth at all. I’m a single mum with two kids. My youngest is autistic. I asked to be released from the tenancy after two weeks. I cleaned the property, I replaced various things that were broken. There was fleas, it was disgusting. There was constant excuses, no communication. And no apology. I have now issued a formal complaint and the landlord has decided to keep my rent for the rest of the month because he thinks he’s done me a favour by releasing me early. I didn’t even get the inventory and schedule of condition until 2 weeks after I moved in. My first experience of renting and I felt like I was in a home from hell. I don’t know how human beings can do this. But I’m now homeless because I chose to keep my kids away from the bats and beasts living in the loft. And because I made a choice as a mother I’ve been punished. I don’t know what else to say except avoid Connells Paignton and avoid valentine house.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism

I put a property on the market in Galmpton for sale at the end of July, Connells sent there valuer out and she was keen to get the property on the books, after signing the acceptance and going on the market , i had one viewing the first week and got no feedback and heard nothing from connells at all, not even a phone call , email or anything I can accept the market is slow and lack of buyers, but the service from connels was non existent , not one call in 16 weeks of marketing ,even at the end when i emailed to take the property off the market, all i got was an email to say ok, not a call to see why or any feedback at all I would not reccomend Connells to sell anything Roger Swift
