TrustpilotAppealing aftercare customer service (Oaklands Hamlet)
I purchased a house in the Oaklands Hamlet development by Countryside just over 2 years ago.The aftercare customer service has been appalling and a stark contrast to the service provided before I moved in. The Customer Service East team are understaffed and the staff that they do have are unwilling to help. I encountered numerous issues with the property and some of these issues have been left unfixed for months on end. Countryside bends over backwards to get out of fixing the issues with the property.I would not recommend at all that anyone purchases a property in Oaklands Hamlet and Countryside properties in general.

Had a couple of dealings with a sales consultant ..... 1st meeting went really well & he was very informative - & then that’s that!2nd meeting (which I thought was for a viewing) - having no idea (as never bought a property before) that everything was agreed & bought off plan (without seeing a makerting suite of any relevance) & asking the question...‘surely others have the same concerns of mine, not knowing what they’re actually buying?’... to receive the response from him ‘yes, we do & they’re the people who don’t buy!’.Talk about condescending & belittling a potential customer! However, despite this, he did have a redeeming feature by suggesting I look at a previously sold property in the same development which was currently up for sale & had almost the same specs as the ‘off plan, that I could never view or get any idea of what I’d be purchasing beforehand!’He didn’t need to do that, as he would have no benefit from that, within a development that sells within hours of being released - his words! However, his colleague had zero redeeming qualities & I haven’t the foggiest why she’s still employed!I felt like, she felt she was wasting her breath just by even responding to my questions!!To re-cap - I distinctly got the impression, that how dare someone like me have the audacity to ask questions about a development, where buyers were fighting over each other to buy at any price & Completely waste the same air in the office that was frequented by the staff!Oaklands Hamlet‘s staff should really consider their customer service style & not be so condescending when someone comes in with a genuine interest on a purchase... & not treat people with complete & utter contempt.

Bought a property from Countryside over 2 years ago. Still waiting for snags to be fixed. The glass shelves from the bathroom are still missing. So our house is actually incomplete. Emails to the site manager are now being completely ignored. No idea how they get away with it.

TrustpilotUtter garbage post customer service
Firstly, this is in no way representative of the sales people I dealt with who I found excellent, but the issues have appeared post sale that just have to be called out.Firstly, it took weeks to sort trivial snags and even when finished they were unacceptable. In the end I stopped reporting small things as I got sick of their workmen covering my house in ****, dragging it in off the street. However the main issue is that my back garden is flooding, holding water etc. Obviously the drainage is in no way adequateThis was reported a month ago with still no resolution in sight, what made me laugh today was that I received a survey through email advising me as far as they were concerned the issue is resolved, you have to laugh. Fresh phone calls into customer service and they act like they haven't got a clue what you're talking about.Nice house, nice sales people, complete garbage post customer service.

TrustpilotSteer clear, never trust a word that they say.
I made the mistake of buying a countryside property and would advise anyone else to steer clear. I was told buy the sales advisor at the Norris Green site in Liverpool, that I could buy the lease after I had lived in the property for two years. At the time The sales advisor was telling me this Countryside had already sold the lease to an offshore company, a few years prior. A few months before my two years were up I contacted Countryside to ask if I could buy the lease. I must have sent half a dozen emails before I eventually got a reply from a member of staff further up he chain (who can not be named) who matter of factly told me that the lease had been sold to E&J estates from under my feet. I asked why I couldnt buy it given the fact that I live in the house but he never had the decency to reply. I then emailed the CEO of countryside to complain. The repsonse I got back was from one of his minions and was just a generic email basically telling me that if I wasnt happy then tough luck!I have since tried to buy the lease directly from E&J and have been quoted £4200, plus vat, plus I also have to pay their legal costs. I can also only buy it on the provision that I ask them no questions. Plus I will still have to get there permission to make any sort of changes to my home.If you are going to buy a countryside home remember that you are never going to be a home owner, just a tenant who is working hard to line the pockets of the fat cats in charge of the company. After your lease is up they take the property back.

TrustpilotQuick to deal with snags
Bought a Linden Home and snags are dealt through Countryside. They're usually pretty fast to respond and send someone out. The only issues I've had are when it's using another company, such as the window company, not directly Vistry/Countryside.

TrustpilotExcellent neighbourhood
Regarding Brookvalley Gardens - Barnet - Excellent neighbourhood. Dollis valley never had a good reputation due to so many council housing. However, the whole area is being regenerated and the new people moving are all from very well to do families and are financially well off. I can't speak very highly of the developers as issues with new builds will be there. But the families moving in are young and great. I love my neighbours, we also have our internal WhatsApp group wherein we discuss all kind of issue bad and good. Everyone is so helpful.

Bought a house from Countryside 2,5 years ago. Still have outstanding jobs which is a nightmare to deal with. Better, we are currently living in an estate without planning permission which leaves all homeowners doomed. No help whatsoever. Just emails stating how they try to solve the issue without giving any details. Definitely not a 5 star builder 👎

TrustpilotGood first impression... Not good after sale care
The houses are lovely. The show homes really wow you... However... The after care is extremely poor. Our house was rushed for completion. While the site was still open we did get quite a few 'snags' sorted. Our original site manager was taken off of our plot due to his persistant lies however the new one was great. I can't fault the after care provided by the site but what has let them down is the post site after care. Quite often you get an answer of 'home owners responsibility' which is them just trying to get out of coming to the property. The list of snags continue even a year on. We had a visit from customer care and to be honest she was unprofessional and rather argumentative. One of the after care contractors made us feel genuinely uncomfortable in our own home. Like I said previously the house was rushed and we have found out just today that our driveway should of had a seperation line down the middle (as it's shared) but as they tarmacced the drive the day we moved in this wasn't done. The first impressions you get of countryside is amazing however once they have your money you seem to be forgotten about. If you buy one of the last plots on a development be warned you may have a lot of trouble getting someone out to actually help you.

I'm a resident caught up in the cladding scandal at NV Buildings, Salford Quays. I bought an apartment that had been built by Countryside Properties only to find it has been built with flammable materials and therefore a serious fire risk. The remedial work to fix the issue has been quoted at over £2 million and Countryside have refused to step forward and take responsibility to protect the safety of the residents in a building that they developed. As a result I am being asked to pay a share of the costs, which for me personally is over £14,000 (and increasing).Countryside should be avoided at all costs. You only have to read the long history of reviews on here to see that they should not be chosen as the developers of anyone's new property. Countryside are a truly awful company who do not care for the safety of their customers following a sale. If you do not want to be lumbered with a huge bill off the back of their mistakes, go elsewhere. The better developers have all stepped forward to absorb the costs and fixed any safety issues on buildings that they have developed.AVOID and look out for the media campaign coming to TV soon.

Absolutely disgusted by the lack of care by Countryside. My apartment is unsafe and covered in flammable cladding that no longer meets regulations leaving us with no other choice but for us to personally pay out in to tens of thousands ourselves each. They wont accept any responsibility or offer any kind of help. They have no concern or empathy. Extremely unapologetic and leaving us to deal with this highly serious issue, wanting no part in making our homes safe.Meanwhile, they continue to portray themselves as modern-day philanthropists - posting stories about their social housing and community partnerships online... Then they aggressively delete comments or block customers who dare to criticise them.Outrageous and utterly unacceptable - Don't deal with them! If you have the chance to escape any potential dealings with them please take my recommendation and avoid them like the plague. I'm having anxiety, stress and health problems and nothing I can do about it.

TrustpilotQuality is shocking
I wish I'd have read these reviews before embarking on this purchase. We really like the design of the house and the development generally, and the customer service staff usually at least make an attempt to be helpful. However, the quality of the fixtures and fittings and the installation of them by, presumably contractors, are in the main terrible. All the small things like the ill fitting joinery, doors, lopsided sockets, sealant not applied correctly and was in large pools and missing in other places, protective stickers on window frames not removed before fitting etc are annoying but it's the condition of various fittings now, within a fortnight of the 2 year warranty expiring where a shower head has flown off the wall, the kitchen counters are coming away from the wall and the boiler still loses pressure every few weeks so I'm not overly confident about the plumbing, there is still clearly a leak somewhere even after the bathroom radiator was found to be leaking when it started to stain the kitchen ceiling. When we moved in skylights were leaking and found to have holes drilled on the frame, the sofits/fascias were not fitted with all the parts meaning there were huge gaps allowing birds to nest in there. The burglar alarm is pretty much useless, as the windows are not fixed in to the timber frame so in warm weather the expanding and cooling moves the frames so much it trips the alarm, when its windy the badly fitted doors rattle in the frames and also trip it. The appeal of a new build was the new fittings meaning minimum DIY or expense for a few years. The reality now, however, is that after 25 months it looks like I'll need to shell out for two new bathrooms and a kitchen, and god only knows how long the central heating system is going to last. In summary, the build quality is awful and given the choice I wouldn't go near this lot again.

TrustpilotDon't buy from Countryside properties
Don't buy from Countryside properties. They may have nice showrooms but the house you buy won't live up to that. When we had all our problems they actually tried to justify the issues by saying it's not the show house! The show house they can make nicely with no issues but not the property you buy! We have had well over 100 issues with our new home. This is no exaggeration. We couldn't move in for 15 months because of all the problems and even after then we keep finding problems. Examples are - no insulation, loose shower heads, damage to windows and doors, kitchen unit doors not installed properly, locks on doors and gates not installed properly, leaking gutter, holes in the fence, holes in the wall, the list goes on and on and on and on. They absolve themselves of all responsibility and yet still are able to get new contracts to build new houses. Don't go near them with a barge pole. Even if it looks like a dream house, find another as it'll turn into a nightmare as it has for us.

TrustpilotCountryside built our apartment…
Countryside built our apartment buildings in Salford and failed to comply with some basic fire safety issues like fire breaks on outside walls thus (following Grenfell) our 3 blocks do not meet standards and need remedial works to cladding. Countryside have refused to offer any kind of compensation to us and so each of us will have to pay thousands for this work. We are retired and we thought our apartment was our safe and secure last home. We are devastated that they have not offered a penny. Let's hope the government help them to see their responsibility to us

Do not buy from this evil company. I have lived in the NV Buildings for eight years, not knowing that it was covered in flammable cladding. Now - only because of the terrible Grenfell tragedy - I know that Countryside let me live in an unsafe building that whole time.To make matters worse, they have been unapologetic and are forcing us, the leaseholders, to each pay thousands of pounds to put it right.Meanwhile, they continue to portray themselves as modern-day philanthropists - posting stories about their social housing and community partnerships online... Then they aggressively delete comments or block customers who dare to criticise them.Don't be fooled. This greedy corporation is happy to let people die in their own homes - or go bankrupt in the fight to put it right.Utter, utter lowlives.

TrustpilotCountryside
Countryside, the developer of our residential property (NV Buildings Salford) has said they are not liable for the replacement cladding and that the building was built to spec in 2004, even though the building does not meet Fire Regulations post Grenfell.Residents are living in unsafe conditions and this fact is least of Countryside agenda, they are more interested in making and taking money from innocent people. Why are us leaseholders footing the bill of an estimated £1.5 Milllion, why is the onus on us for 100% of the cost. The replacement cladding cost should be split in a third ratio, Government, Developer, Leaseholder - that would be fair!

We invested in our apartment about 18months ago. Which has now become the worse decision we could have made! Unaware of the development not built to correct cladding/fire-safety specification we are now facing huge debts hanging over our heads to fix - a share of about £1.5million...Countryside have refused to take responsibility and are passing the buck, which of course is the easiest thing to do!We are in an unsafe building. TrustpilotUnacceptable and dangerous build quality.
Unacceptable build quality.I have lived in a Countryside constructed property that is billed as a landmark development in the region and has won design awards: NV Buildings. We have no found out that we live in a building that has flammable cladding that must be replaced and Countryside have refused to take responsibility for this, leaving us with potential bills of tens of thousands of pounds for each of the 246 apartments. The fact that this is happening is a disgrace and a national scandal. They should not continue to be rewarded with further contracts to build apartments while they refuse to do the moral thing and make the buildings that they have built safe.

If I could give 0 stars I would! Countryside only care about their bank balance instead of the safety of their consumers! They have left 100s of people in dangerous buildings for months knowing they had not put the correct fire safety precautions into place when building their buildings! They did not follow building regulations at the time! They have no decided not to follow the example set by many other reputable construction companies and have instead left their leaseholders to pick up the pieces with absolutely no remorse!!!!Avoid at all cost!
