Hot air and horse

My original contract was with Thurman & Rye and was acquisitioned by Hunters part way through, but the staff remained the same. They had two flats to sell, so I offered them 3% if they sold both flats within the standard contract period as an incentive to market the properties. They didn’t market or sell a single flat. They just sat there and hoped for RightMove to create the footfall.Worse still was the brochuring of the properties, they couldn’t spell, got the wrong specs and they couldn’t draw the floor plans properly. Loads of promises and assurances from the start etc, but proved to be a load of hot air and horse.

DO NOT USE THIS ESTATE AGENT. On the 18.10.2018 I was appointed to see an apartment at 41 Mill West, Sowerby Bridge, HX6 3JH. (I hope the landlord is reading this)We agreed a time of 16:45 but due to traffic my sat nav advised I would be eleven minutes late. I called the office at 16:25 and after a few minutes of waiting for somebody to answer the telephone I was greeted. I advised the lady I was running late by eleven minutes and was told the agent showing me around cannot wait for me because she finishes at 5pm. I asked why would it be booked with only 15 minutes to spare for viewing and the reply I received from a manager at hunters was “you only get five minutes to view the property. The manager I had the displeasure of conversing with was named Nicola Thompson. She is rude, cocky and full of self importance with no regard for customer service or a potential tennents interest or the landlord of the property who contributes to her salary. I feel I had a lucky escape. I hope her superiors read this as well as the landlord who owns the property I was going to view. She needs to enroll in a customer service role and soon, personally I’d fire her but unfortunately this is what happens when you allow the inexperienced and possibly inadequate into a junior management role. I will post on every review site I can because of this women’s attitude with the hope her bosses react and teach her how to behave towards potential and existing customers.

I can't complain about these letting agents as I signed an agreement not too so that we could get some of our deposit back...

I can't tell you about my experience with a recent let as the only way I could get our deposit back was to agree not to complain about any aspect of the tenancy or the process of charges negotiation. I can tell you to be very careful about using this letting agent. They issue a notice to quit towards the end of each assured short hold tenancy rather than let the tenancy run-on so that they can raise the rent, knowing you are in situ and charge new fees for the tenancy agreement. Scrutinise your inventory and the check-out report in detail. Do not suggest you have any cause for complaint.

We changed to Hunters after limited success with an online agent - an excellent decision, as it turned out. They were professional yet friendly from start to finish and we felt they really took on board what we felt where the selling points of the house. They were also able to offer calm, experienced advice when it came to negotiating with potential buyers. You very much sense that they're on your side, rather than just pushing for a sale at any cost. We don't plan to move for a very long time, but if we did, we'd go straight to Hunters.

We had so many issues

We had so many issues in our rented property and they never came and sorted them due to this we moved out. We had left our house in a very clean state and only the problems we had when we moved in had been left they tried to take our full bond off us and more. They are horrific and I wouldn’t recommend using them and I certainly won’t be ever again.

This allowed us to negotiate the purchase our property without it going to market. throughout the negotiations they were extremely professional. Prior to this purchase we found properties we viewed with Hunters to be fairly valued and we were never bombard with emails/advertisements etc.

I was very impressed with Hunters when I met Andy. He was bang on with the pricing of the property and the professional photography showed the property at its best. They provided regular feedback and even though the sale fell through a couple of times, they persevered and got us our sale in time for my brother to complete on the purchase of his new house. Hunters chased the buyer and the buyers solicitor regularly to make this happen. We are very happy with the outcome and glad we stuck with Hunters.

Hunters were easy to deal with from the start. Everyone we came in contact with was very helpful and professional. Photography and pre sale advice was to a high standard. We were not at the house for long periods of time during the sale process and Hunters managed the visits to the property without any problems. Hunters provided a quick sale and helped to make the process as painless and efficient as possible. Highly recommended.

People be alert avoid at all cost like covid. Do not deal with the bradford shipley branch previously Bentleys. Dishonest timewasters that just do not care. They lie and cheat to impress for their own gain. Mis advice vendors to sell to buyers who are friends/associates. Dont waste your time and emotions I did. Data Breach !

I enquired about a house and have been added illegally to a mailing list. I complained and asked to be removed twice, was told they never added me (though the emails added me 1 day after my 1 ever enquiry to this company) and they have yet to remove me. Companies like this should not be trusted, they are taking your data and will spam you !

My experience of buying and selling was of two extremes. The Agent I used to sell my property was "the worst" and the Agent (Hunters) that I had to buy was "the best". Without Debbie's proactive and professional advice I would have given up half way through! Hunters of Otley...There are not superlatives enough to express the excellent service we received. The team provide a truly personal approach, and provided prompt feedback to viewings, with regular updates. Our expectations were far exceeded, Debbie in particular was in constant communication during the progression of the sale, was always calm, reassuring and in fact her persistence, I am sure, saw the sale through to completion!! Extremely disappointing sales experience

It is a real shame when ideal opportunity to acquire a family home is missed due to errors made by an estate agent. It later transpires that vendor accepted a lower offer for the sale of his property. The real questions are; what was the cause of those errors? were they really errors? why was the lower offer accepted and higher offer rejected?
