TrustpilotVery poor experience with hunters
Very poor experience with hunters, they delayed our process throughout, they didn’t request searches until week 6 of process when everyone else was ready to complete, 3 weeks later we’re all still sat waiting for a move date due to this. They fobbed us off all the way through blaming others parties when in fact once checking with people such as local authority the delays were with this solicitor. We will never buy/ sell with anyone using these solicitors again worse moving experience of my life (and I’ve moved a lot)

TrustpilotAvoid if you can!
Future tenants! Please avoid this company if you can, specially the office located in Surrey Quays.I've rent a room with them as one of my ex-friends had an Apartment with them, they asked me to pay £250 for a "references" which I did at that time but never received any contract from them & give the deposit of the room to the main tenant,( I did receive a notification from the DPS, informing the deposit was received and "secured" but it was put it to a different property, I didn't really pay much attention at that time as I've trusted the company and DPS) it was ok for me at that time as I will be lmoving with my friend anyway (wrong mistake!) April 2020, I've received an email from DPS to claim my deposit which I did, I've explained everything in details, providing all the evidence an information but nothing has been resolve, they just "throwing the ball" to different people. Such a disappointment!! The company acts with such a dodgy behaviours.

TrustpilotDISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR! I’ve rang 3 time’s to view properties…
I’ve rang 3 time’s to view properties in LS17 Alwoodley. I am property developer. I already have 4 properties in LS17. I have been spoken to rudely by Tracey (head of branch). She wants you to put your property on sale before seeing their properties! She even said it was waste of a call. This is appalling behaviour and disgusting tactic of getting hunters to advertise properties. Please move over to Preston baker I’ve bought my last property by them. Very polite and recent got my house valuated by them. Ls17 is best run by Preston baker 100% give a fair decisions on viewings and definitely know how to talk to potential clients. Hunters sort out your attitude your not the only estate agents in LS17! DO NOT ADVERTISE YOUR PROPERTY WITH HUNTERS! they are just taking properties in but not selling!

TrustpilotHunters Tring ans Surrounding Villages…
Hunters Tring & Surrounding Villages strike again! Amazing service from Caroline, Iain and the whole team. Helped us get our house sold at 98% of the asking price and keep everything going through the Covid-19 Epidemic. They chased everything down to completion even with a few complications along the way! On top of that they found us a short-term rental around the corner which suited all our needs and gave us a stop gap whilst we sold another property. We are customers for Life (just a shame that you only cover Tring and surrounding villages 😊). If you want an Agent that actually works hard for you and goes outside the box, then don’t hesitate to use Caroline and her brilliant Team.

TrustpilotHorrible experience and nasty staff
I have dealt with hunters in my life time for the purposes of my parents buying a house and a business and myself moving to a rental property. All I can say is they were consistently unprofessional uneducated and rude. I naively didn’t think it would matter when renting a property who the letting agents were however I was wrong. The biggest item of contention was the deposit. They had deliberately left items off the inventory that were damaged and dirty. I had added additional notes to say for example the carpet was heavily soiled, but because I did not list one particularly piece of damage they would not accept this. The staff were very rude- which is so unnecessary it’s not their money and I was nice throughout, far nicer than a lot of people would be.There’s many more things I could list but all I can say is to avoid them I have since used Hudson moody and they have been a dream lovely staff no matter who you speak to and very competent diligent record keeping.

GoogleWe never hesitated to use Hunters Otley as our estate agent when we decided to sell our house. They were excellent from start to finish. They knew the area and understood the target market for our house. We trusted them to do the viewings as we know they are good at selling houses. They are actual locals, so know how good the area is and can communicate that to potential buyers. We got as much as we hoped for for our house and the process was as smooth as we could have wished for. Thank you Hunters Otley team!

TrustpilotHunters Pontefract
What a joke this place is! Rented a property from them in august, viewed the property and it looked lovely, 3 bedroom house with a garage in a nice quite area for £650 a month. That’s where the this well sounding house then goes wrong. We’re supposed to have 2 sets of keys, they gave us 1 complete set and a set that fit none of the doors (who knows who’s keys I had and who had my keys?) We had no running hot water for 3 weeks. All of which were reported immediately. That’s when the problems then go even worse, after redecorating ( which the property needed) with their permission most rooms to the house and de weeding all of the gardens, we then realised why the property was so cheap. As the weather turned worse in autumn the boiler had to be put on, the thermostat didn’t work and the boiler was on constantly meaning the bills were ridiculously high, every window in the property was blown and misted the bay window was collapsing so let mould in the front of property, my daughter has a lung condition so this really effected her ( which hunters was made aware of) there were holes in the brick by the back door, when the toilet was flushed the downpipe leaked on to the back door the list goes on and on. We asked for early release of our tenancy ( a month and a half) which the landlord agreed to after a member of hunters had been out to assess the property, they then phoned on the day of my partners nans funeral to say the landlord had changed his mind ( which I never got the message after calling back twice and leaving messages) We moved out of the property in December due to the issues and the fact they weren’t being resolved after countless attempts to contact hunters. They finally got back in contact in January and said if we had just dropped the keys off that would have ended the tenancy? After weeks of trying to contact them. They have since taken the deposit back and rented out the property in pretty much the same condition! Stay away from hunters. They do nothing to help or communicate and are all about the money not the health and well-being of the tenants living in the properties, the tenants are simply cash cows!

TrustpilotSTAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!!!!
I’ve been dealing with this agency for the past 5 years, and once again they’ve proven the worst agency/agents ever. I deal with their branch in Surrey Quays, London, and their service is amongst the worst I’ve ever had in any kind of customer service, plus their incompetence is beyond belief. We’ve had the name of the lead tenant changed from the DPS for someone who doesn't even live here. DPS tells us the agency requested the name, (which the agency rudely denied) and then we find out that only 1 of the current tenants has the name in the DPS although the deposit has obviously been payed by the 3 of us. On top of that, after showing our obvious concern with the situation, we’re told by the agency not to worry, because “it should be fine”. Disgraceful!!!STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!

TrustpilotThe worst Agency ever
The worst Agency ever. They looking every way to win your deposit. Please do never work with them. I was renting a small studio flat. When i first entered the flat the bath was a bit cracked. I never reported cause i thought they know about that. By the time this cracked became worst and worst. When i left property i did changed the bath with my own costs , i cleaned the property with professional cleaning service. Above that they said me that they put other people to clean it again cause it was not cleaned enough, and this cost was 240 pounds, finally i paid for that as well. Before all of these they said me i need to send keys via post to their agency. I did send it to them. After i payed the bath and the cleaning services, they said me that they need to keep some deposit because the keys has not arrived to their office and i didnt send the proof of postage which they never said me that it need to be posted with recorded post or to send them proof of postage. They are Scams do never work with them guys, they don't care how you feel or anything they just want to steal money from you.

TrustpilotUnfortunately once again America…
Unfortunately once again America succumbs to its usual 2-dimensional plots and characters with yet another load of revenge programming loaded with a heavy dose of violence. Predictably, the line is clearly defined between good and evil. Each episode we can look forward to inventive ways in which a healthy cross section of races kill evil Nazis, executing them with catchy one-liners and witty monologues. Most of this garbage rests on a good Jewish teenager who joins a team of what seems like movie extras in order to track down the evildoers and plot their demise.

TrustpilotSTAY AWAY!
I rented a property for 6 months from this company and it’s by far the most horrific and unprofessional company I’ve ever come across. I got my keys and on entering the property you could smell how dirty it was. The carpet in living room had been so badly worn it had holes in it (when I view the property before it had tenants living in it and this as covered by furniture). Some of the rooms were wallpapered. Obviously lack of cleaning done. I did the inventory hive where you tick of the picture taken by the estate a gent matched the description, it did so I ticked it. All this was via email and before I got the keys to actually see it bare. I was horrified at the state of the place and called them immediately. Banister rail was loose, the back door had dropped, the front door leaked, all interior doors were very hard to open, the showers had been leaking as there was mould on kitchen ceiling directly below, boiler lost pressure when the heating was on and much more. They rectified a few things. Now over the 6 months I was there they did get things sorted (4months before an electrician was employed to fix the smoke alarms). Now I did not receive my full bond back as they took money off me £15 for dust on light fitting, and £25 for paint work that had been scratched (previous tennant painted white paint on brown plastic windowsills). I left the property in an immaculate state. It was much cleaner then when I moved in. Besides Annabelle being the most stuck up rude and unprofessional person I also think I’ve been misled and taken advantage of. As i imagine they took bond money off previous tenants for the decorating issues they did not however rectify this and restore the house to neutral decor. I don’t mind find taken off if I have damaged anything but they seem to take your money and not repair anything!

Please could you check you have the correct Lettings Agent. All our viewings are verbally confirmed and via SMS with the full address 24 hours prior to viewing.

TrustpilotHunters P'Head - Terrible customer service!
My recent experience with Hunters (Portishead) has been very poor and unfortunately, due to terrible customer service, I will avoid ever dealing with the company again. I thought it may be wise to share this review as I genuinely feel houses may not be selling in our area due to a certain persons 'selling techniques'. Every phonecall before and after our viewing with this person was incredibly frustrating. They were very rude, abrupt and patronising. During the viewing both me and my partner were almost cringing at the 'selling technique' , it was all about him and his contacts, very much a bragging opportunity. This was followed with a very patronising quick fire lesson on 'how to sell a house'. If the agent had bothered to actually ask questions about us, he would have learnt that one of us had very extensive property sales experience. Similarly, by asking no questions about us, he didn't sell the house to us, he merely opened the door and identified what the rooms were. No attempt of selling the features to fit our needs, nothing. Whilst I initiated some questions about the property, the agent didn't answer me directly and would always look to my partner when speaking - we both picked up on this seperately and found it to be very rude and came across chauvinistic! The agent wrapped up the viewing by saying he had a cash buyer in next (as to try and scare us), we waited...and guess what, nobody arrived. During the multiple calls after out viewing (some were return calls to his voicemails) this particular agent would respond like he didn't have a clue who we were, (well if he had bothered to use his customer service skills perhaps his memory would have served him better) after re-highlighting who I was, I was faced with short answers in a 'you're wasting my time tone'. I left every phonecall seething at how rude this person really was.I think anyone who has dealt in any customer facing role understands that customer service is key, find out about your customer, what do they do, what are their needs, build a rapport etc.I appreciate we were only viewers but fast forward to us selling in the future - there wouldn't be a chance I would use them as my agent. Safe to say, I will not be dealing with Hunters again.

TrustpilotMY ADVICE IS DO NOT USE HUNTERS LETTING…
MY ADVICE IS DO NOT USE HUNTERS LETTING IN PONTEFRACT!!!I would prefer to give NO stars to Hunters Letting Agents of Pontefract. They are a shambles, they dont follow best practice in terms of how they deal with those people that sign agreements with them. I rented a property in the area being charged £700 pcm for a 3 bedroom house WITH garage I was very specific I needed a garage. the house had this and i was informed that everything had been checked at the property when I went to sign the contract. Moved in no working cooker, fridge or freezer, had 3 water leaks from bathroom (that I didnt use) into living room. Also no ability to use the Garage as they didnt give me a remote control for it for nearly 3 months and when they did it would not open but I had a manual handle to wind up and down (but the garage was full of builders rubbish), but of course they said they had checked and it was ready to move into. At the end of the tenancy they deducted £90 from the deposit for pet hair in the main bedroom (Ihave a cat which was always sleeping in its bed on the ground floor plus dead flies on the living room floor). No monies back however for the lack of the garage!! I then overpaid by mistake a further months payment and instead of sending back the full amount of £700 the deducted monies for some reason, no explanation to me. THEY ARE NOT BIG ON COMMUNICATING!!! People may think this is not true, I can prove all of this - there is more but i simply cannot be bothered to put it here. Will be taking legal advice.

TrustpilotAccept no responsibility for misselling
When we purchased our house through Hunters they marketed the property as having a 1.5 acre plot. Since purchasing we have subsequently found out this 1.5 acres is actually less than 1 acre. We have raised this with Hunters who do not consider they have done anything wrong. We have gone through their escalation process for what it was worth and they refuse to accept any responsibility. We are taking further action to understand what laws Hunters have actually broken around misspelling but if anyone has any advice feel free to comment.

GoogleATTENTION ANYONE LOOKING TO DO BUSINESS WITH HUNTERS ILKLEY AND OTLEY
BE PREPARED TO THROW YOUR MONEY AWAY!!!
We were looking at renting a property in Otley, and told Hunters right from the start that we would need a Guarantor. They assured us that there would not be an issue as long as we had a Guarantor in place. We paid in total £450 for two applicants and a guarantor application.
At the end of last week I was told they could not continue with the application because the referencing company HomeLet would not proceed with our application with a Guarantor in place, and that the landlord would not be able to get insurance. Spoke to HomeLet, and the decision not to proceed was down to letting agents discretion. The decision to not proceed with the insurance was also down to Hunters.
Nevertheless, Hunters have lied to us saying that they have tried everything possible to get HomeLet to proceed (HomeLet have no log of any of this, as far as they are concerned they were just waiting for the go ahead from Hunters). Hunters hadn’t put the Guarantor application in either.
It was also Hunters, not HomeLet who told the landlord that they would in no way be able to get insurance for us (something HomeLet told me was not the case). You would have thought our current landlord would have had the same issue if that was the case?
Spoke to franchise owner Lester Hurst who continued to lie to me about the situation and refused to give us our application fee back (the one we paid on the false assurance that there would be no issues applying with a Guarantor). He also tried to shift the blame onto HomeLet, but the real reason was down to Hunters wanting to make some quick money.
Lester Hurst offered us £90 back for the Guarantor application as a “good will gesture”. How about the fact they had no intention of submitting it at all! Looking back through my correspondences with Hunters, the only figure that appeared on the documents was for £360. So that means the plan was take the additional £90 from us so we didn't suspect any foul play, knowing full well they wouldn't be submitting the Guarantor along with ours, make out it was the third party referencing company's decision to not go ahead, give the £90 back to cover up the fact there was supposed to be a Guarantor application made alongside our own, and keep the profit from their inflated fees. Sounds like a nice little earner. I wonder how many other unsuspecting victims they have conned this way?
Hunters also took the personal details of our Guarantor AFTER our application was declined by HomeLet, and did not let on to us while we were submitting the details that they would not be used. I'm sure that doesn't go down well with GDPR.
It looks very much like Hunters are trying to make some quick money in light of application fees being ditched in June. It’s not surprising that Hunters fees are the most expensive in the area (Lester Hurst told me they are the same as other agents application fees, which is a lie as we have checked the fees other agents charge). Looking at Hunters letting prices from 2017 (which is still up on the company’s website) the price for a single applicant used to be £180, which was put up at the end of last year to £300. Why? An application to HomeLet costs £45, so what are Hunters doing differently since the end of last year to justify the price hike? It’s simply a case that they want to get as much as they can, while they can.
It’s an absolutely disgusting business practice that is promoted from the very top by the franchise owner, and I will be querying this with the head office to see if this is in line with how they operate as well.
To summarise, be very very careful dealing with Hunters Ilkley and Otley, and be prepared for some nasty surprises and to lose money

GoogleWe had been looking for a property in the area for a while and as such, had cause to deal with numerous agents. Hunters were by far the best we have dealt with, taking a no-nonsense proactive approach. We found them to be open and frank, rather than trying to play games with prospective buyers. They were kind enough to accompany us on numerous viewings and even once everything was with the solicitors they met us at the house to measure up and show the property to our parents. The property we were purchasing was empty as the sellers were away and I noticed the lovely lady who accompanied us, Julie, moving the wilted flowers and collecting the post up for the owners - the little things really do make a big difference! We will be recommending them to our family & friends and have no doubt when we do come to sell they will be the agent of choice (although not for a while yet!)
