I have bought and sold house so I am no novice. The house I was selling this time was my mothers. Therefor we as a family were still grieving. Information was sparse, not clear and if we had all the information we should have had we would not have accepted the offer and kept the house on the market. I felt the company was not working for us. I have spoken with B Eves but got nowhere. I would not use them again, very disappointed

My experience with this letting agency…

My experience with this letting agency was extremely disappointing. I paid a holding deposit for a property and expected clear communication throughout the referencing process. Unfortunately, I received very little communication and had to repeatedly contact the agency myself to find out what was happening. What I found particularly disappointing was that I was not contacted to be informed that my referencing had failed. I only found out after I personally managed to get through to them. My calls were not being answered, and I eventually had to call from a different number before someone answered. The manner in which the situation was handled also left me feeling that I was not treated with the level of professionalism or courtesy I would expect from a letting agency. I am now trying to resolve the issue regarding my holding deposit. I understand that referencing can sometimes be unsuccessful, but I believe applicants deserve clear communication, timely updates and respectful treatment throughout the process. Overall, I am very disappointed with my experience and would encourage anyone considering using this agency to make sure they fully understand the holding deposit terms and what happens if referencing is unsuccessful.

Sarah Seal was our contact during the process of acquiring our accommodation. She was so helpful, easily accessible and friendly. Her knowledge and expertise in the area of lettings were invaluable. She helped us through all the processes and was always there to assist and give us guidance whenever we needed it. The levels of communication are superb as she and the other team always kept us in the loop. Any issues were communicated well with clear guidelines on how we could get through. What a great team. Never have i received such amazing service. The professionalism, and team morale in this branch is second to none. This being my first day viewing properties in the midland's, i thought as a cockey essex boy property investor i would get laughed at. Boy was i wrong, these people really know what they are doing and take it seriously. From my first enquiries on rightmove i got an instant call from joe. Joe helped me right from the start to get straight into the nitty gritty facts without all the fluff that usually comes with buying a property. Yet he done it with carisma and charm that i just wanted to buy something off him! Also i want to mention Alison, i presume the manager as she seemed like the don of all things property in nottingham, sitting up on her desk at a higher level, throwing knowledge and facts at me about the local market and properties. I was in pure bliss. Then the ‘well thought out’ layout has an entire team of letting agents sitting a stones throw from the sales department. Hugely beneficial for me being a hands off (lazy) landlord. I just got up from joes desk and walked 10 steps to the letting department to speak to the lovely sophie. She gave me all the details i needed to help me decide what properties i would like to put offers on. This is truly a one stop, money making shop for me and im looking forward to working with these guys for years to come as my ever expanding business start to venture into the midlands.

They have been showing up to my flat unannounced for the last 2 years since the Landlord is selling the property. They have ignored our boundaries as tenants, ignoring our requests to only do viewings on certain days since my partner and I work 6 days a week. I’ve brought this up with the agents multiple times yet they show up whenever they want, claiming they have contacted us when in fact they have not. Absolutely ridiculous.

I have used Bairstow eves to manage my property

I have used Bairstow eves to manage my property for the last two years. However the deliverables that were set out when signing the agreement were not met, from increasing rent annually according to market rent, to making sure that licenses were in place throughout the two year let. I have both times went out and got the gas certification and then sent it over to them myself, this was a managed service and Ideally they should have provided this service if not a reminder at least. 3 months ago, I had asked for Bairstow eve to cancel my contract so I could manage the rental myself. After emails back and forth and now being ignored I am still being charged for an expensive service which I no longer want. I would not recommend the management service as it is pointless, collecting rent and their charges seems to be the only thing they are good at, which seems to be a centralised process rather than dependent on the branch it self.

Fantastic service from all the staff at Nottingham in particular Lucy Hall, Sophie Buckthorpe, Amy Ashmore and Rebecca Humber. Prior to using Bairstow Eves we had the tenant from hell and unfortunately also the letting agent from hell. We put up with the letting agent for years assuming they were all much the same. How wrong we were! When we approached Bairstow the property was in a sorry state from the previous tenant and we were struggling to get hold of the letting agent let alone get it repaired and ready for rent. From initial contact with Sophie to getting the property repaired including electrics, painting, oven replacement, bathroom repairs, end of tenancy clean, house clearance, safety certificates and new tenants moving in was 6 weeks! I even spoke with Lucy on a Sunday whilst she was trying to cook a Sunday roast for her family. I'm fairly certain that level of service is not in their job descriptions but we were very grateful! Complete opposite of our previous letting agent. I don't normally write reviews so apologies for the essay but credit where credit is due. Faultless service, thank you all very much from Stuart and Liz.

A friend had highly recommended we use a lady in the team by the name of Rebecca Humber. He had used Bairstoweves himself to let several properties and he recommended asking for her personally. Well let me tell you, he wasn’t wrong. She is such an asset to the Bairstoweves Nottingham team. From the moment we met her it was apparent that she was such a lovely lady and knew how to deal with all our needs. This wasn’t just a house to let, it was our family home we were letting so it held so many memories for us and we wanted to do the best we could to find the right tenants. Rebecca guided us all the way through the process and was always there at the end of the phone to answer any questions and offer advice if we needed it from start to finish, nothing being to much trouble with her friendly can do attitude. We also dealt with some of the other members of the team that were all as helpful as each other along the way. Recently used Bairstow Eves to sell my property. Katie arrived promptly and addressed all my questions during the initial visit and gave the property what I felt was a fair evaluation. There was lots of interest in the property immediately, probably thanks to the high quality photographs and listing that Bairstow put together. They managed the viewings by booking out 2 block slots to limit the disruption to me during the vast number of viewings. Jake helped during negotiations to help me get the best offer from multiple offers received. After the sale was confirmed, Alice did a fantastic job ensuring that everyone was kept up to date and ensured things kept moving throughout the process. She spoke with both solicitors regularly and was always well spoken and professional when I spoke with her. Have previously also dealt with Bairstow Eves as a tennant when renting in the past, a similar great experience with professionals.
