Poor quality viewings and service

The Clapham branch sales negotiator was late for the viewing and didn’t ask anyone from the office to notify us (15 minutes late). He had also double booked the appointment, the entire booking was a bit of a disorganised mess. There was a fair bit he wasn’t aware of and generally wasn’t that helpful. The specifications I gave weren’t followed in the viewings. I was ignored when asked if I wanted a broker and my contact information was shared when I had asked for it not to.

Excellent service from Shanna at the Nottingham branch. Responded very quickly to my first email enquiry, arranging a viewing for the following afternoon. Very friendly and relaxed viewing and was honest about the property and the landlord. This helped to convince me to apply for the flat which I did within ten minutes of viewing. At this point I expected to wait 2-3 weeks for everything to be checked and finalised. It was in fact offered to me the following day then signed, sealed and I had the keys in under 7 days! Amazing work from Bairstow Eves. This is the second time I have rented a property through them and I can thoroughly recommend their services. Thank you Shanna Update 21/06/2025 Bairstow Eves delivered the goods again when my landlord decided to sell up. Saw the flat on Friday, viewed on Saturday with Georgia (very friendly and professional) and confirmed accepted by Tuesday! Easy process from start to finish yet again. Thank you.

Absolutely disgusting service

Absolutely disgusting service, they come across very professional when they value the house, but once its on the market the staff are unhelpful and take days to answer emails. The details were incorrect online as it was put live without us agreeing the details, the pictures were awful and the one thing we did make them change. There has been no effort to sell the house, only having one viewer in two months. Only to find out that the contract is for 4 months too, devastated. Stay away from this company.

If you want your deposit back I would heavily advise you not to go to this establishment. In the invoice vague prices were listed and they we’re not willing to provide further evidence and disclose what certain terms mean.They provided me a poor looking Invoice that seemed unprofessional and made on the spot with no VAT details or contact information to the cleaning company.I asked for further information and they said and I quote “we are not obligated to provide them”. I have expressed my doubts on the legitimacy of the vague wording on the invoice such as “deep clean flat”and “grubby doors”.. I have deep cleaned prior to leaving left minuscule things that weren’t cleaned .. Additionally, for people who are not British they would speak to me in a condescending and rude manner despite being a paying tenant ...especially Sophie Buckthrope. I’m not even a tenant anymore and they’re asking me about keys for the letterbox… as a real estate agent and me no longer being a tenant for 2 months now …that’s YOUR job to figure it out not mine…how unprofessional..When they need something they’ll contact you for their own benefit at your own inconvenience but if you need something they’ll treat you like rubbish.

Disappointed with this estate agency. Rang a number of times about a property on Gregory Avenue , Nottingham as far back as July, was not getting much of a response despite leaving my details to be kept informed of the property when it came to market properly as apparently a viewing could not be arranged yet. However despite not getting calls back, i kept on ringing and then was assured i would be informed when the property would be available. There seemed to be limited interest in responding to my calls/messages left. The last message being left over a week ago. Then saw that it came onto the Rightmove website and today i rang and was told it had been sold. Feel sorry for the seller who has probably got shortchanged as i was willing to pay a lot more than it was priced at, even if there was more than one prospective purchaser. Spoke to Kofi who provided an inadequate explanation. He thought me wanting to get informed about the property/viewing details was requiring special treatment (Customer Care training clearly required for this assistant manager!) Being a buyer and seller of property regularly ,won't be using them nor recommending them. Sellers beware!

DO NOT TRUST BAIRSTOW EVES, Property Rented Without a Valid Licence

I am writing this to warn other families. My family and I have experienced nothing but stress and chaos since renting a property through Bairstow in May 2026.After moving in, we discovered to our horror that the property was let without a valid property licence. When we raised this serious legal issue, the agency completely absolved themselves of responsibility, blaming the landlord. Under UK housing law, letting agents have a strict legal duty to verify and ensure proper licensing is in place before letting a property.The customer service at this branch is shockingly unprofessional. Particular staff members, Mehmet, Rejaul, and Exene, are completely evasive. They take weeks to respond to emails and refuse to answer the phone. On the rare occasion we do manage to speak to them over the phone, they make empty promises to send over details, only to go completely silent and ignore all subsequent emails.Avoid Bairstow at all costs if you value your peace of mind and legal safety. They take your money and completely abandon their legal obligations.
