I would give 0 stars if I could. We were ignored every time we needed their help. Useless agency. Profit is what they are after, nothing more. Lazy agents. Communication problems between departments as they call several times a month asking for rent when the rent is already paid!!! Never again. Avoid them if you can at all costs.

Brian was very friendly and chatty. He got excited and enthusiastic about a quirky property he showed us. It was obvious he cared which was pleasant to see. Even helped give us some tips for where to put furniture and helped us visualise it as a home rather than just a property.

If you are looking to rent a house through William h brown I suggest you don’t. Serious problems with communication, genuinely every time I have to contact them I have to chase and chase and then they still get it wrong, it’s majorly stressful and I actually dread having to contact them. If I could rent my house through another agency I would.

Nightmare agency for students as well as incredibly expensive. We paid a £90 admin fee and deposit. Nine months later we receive a phone call out of the blue that we need to pay them more money by the very next day??? We struggled to scramble up the funds on such short notice. Edit: a year later and the tenancy is over. It's been two months of chasing for our diposits back. My house mates finally got theirs back but mine was somehow lost. It took another two weeks of daily chasers for them to figure out that my deposit had been sent to.... A house mate's father in law. Fantastic. Ended up asking my house mate for the money, so I didn't have to deal with the agents taking another 3 months to fix their mistake.

I am very pleased with my experience with WH Brown whom I used to help let one of the properties I manage. John and his team were immensely helpful and professional. Once a tenant was identified, they were incredibly responsive, even out of office hours and especially during a nationwide lock-down, in order to facilitate the process as quickly and as easily as possible. I would also like to comment that John and his team showed a high level of patience as work needed to be done to the property before letting and they were happy to hold on to the keys and share with builders/workmen when necessary. I also found their fees are reasonable too, and you do not get tied to unexpected contract lengths as I experienced with other Estate Agents. I would definitely recommend and would be happy to work with them again!

An extremely professional estate to deal with. The method of viewing was top notch and the person showing me the house was very much detailed and answered all of my questions even though my viewing was pushed in the 11th hour as a favor. I had my dealing with Brian. He did everything out of the way to get a good deal for me. He even convinced the Landlord to give me 50 percent off on the property for the first month. Brian kept me updated throughout and made sure I was very well satisfied. Upon my objection on one thing he went an extra mile to go to the property ( after he finished his work!!!) and video call me even when I had seen the house physically. He is a very professional person and I will always be happy to to dealing with him as a happy satisfied client.

I viewed a few properties advertised by William H Brown. The estate agent was very friendly, not over selling and helpful in answering questions with facts as opposed to 'Should be's' and ' I thinks'.which was nice to see in an estate agent as my experience had been that most are young and thirsty for that commission so sell a house by any means necessary even if it mean's giving false info. Although I bought a property via a different agent , I used the mortgage broker at William H Brown- Serina M. She was very helpful from the onset, and was transparent about the fees and charges I would incur. I was pleased to know that these were not as high as other brokers. Serina explained all the mortgage's available to me and was not pushy at all. During the process Serina was always available to answer any questions promptly and accurately. I would highly recommend this Agent and would surely be using them again . Thanks !! :-) I would highly recommend Serina

William H Brown letting team have been amazing and extremely helpful in finding and securing a letting property for us. It is our first rented property as young professionals and the letting team have really gone above and beyond to make sure that we have everything we need. They are quick to answer the phone and provide answers to any questions you may have. A big shout out to Luke, for facilitating the whole process for us and for making it as streamline as possible. Also, I would like to mention Hab as another brilliant letting agent as he gave us a fantastic tour of the property and answered all our questions. The tour was so good we went back for a second viewing! The whole team at William H Brown, 5 Bank Plain, Norwich are outstanding and so they are highly recommended in my books! 5* service guaranteed!

Updating my review from 5 stars to 1 star. The move out process has been awful, William H Brown have done everything in their power to assist the landlord in withholding our deposit, even though there was no issues with the property when we left. We had it professionally cleaned and left it looking the same as when we initially rented it. It has been THREE MONTHS since we moved out and they are still holding our £1500 deposit. As a side note, NEVER rent a property owned by SILVER LET LTD, they are crooks and will try and steal money off of you.

Absolutely do not use this company! My friends and I rented a house from them for a year. They are terrible with communication. They never told us when the landlord was coming over so we had him showing up at random times (once at 8am on a Sunday). Additionally, they never told us about viewings at our house. They are required to give you notice (at least 24 hours I think) about any house viewings, but we were never told! So we had dozens of students in our house for viewings over Christmas holidays when we weren’t even there! Also, they never reply to their emails. On two separate occasions, we had been trying to get in touch with one of their members via email for weeks with no reply, and then when we rang up we were told that that employee no longer worked there. Why were we not informed!!?? What a waste of our time! Additionally, whenever we informed them of anything that needed fixing or replacing (as we were told to let them know) they would take weeks to sort anything out, for us to then be told we had to use their stupid online report which never actually worked. Also it took them three months to return our deposits.

We recently sold our property with the Bank Plain branch of W H Brown which was achieved within the stipulated 5 month contract period. After a few initial issues with photographs and floor plans which we had to resolve in person at the branch, we were immediately sent viewings; we received regular feedback from these which was really helpful. We finally dealt with Andrew Wilson who was excellent in negotiating the best sale price for our property, continuously keeping us updated and informed of progress; nothing was too much trouble for him. Andrew was very professional and trustworthy, his honest advice was welcome and really took the stress out of the whole process.

When we first decided to go with William H Brown for our student house in Norwich they were very helpful and quick to take our holding deposit, they also asked us to leave a good review, I now see why... Myself and 2 other housemates are due to move into our house next week. We have sent at least 3 emails and are yet to receive a reply to any of them. This is so unprofessional and so nerve wracking for 3 new renters. We have no idea how we pick up our keys or pay our deposits. When we have called them all they seem to say is they'll call us back at some point. What are we meant to do sit around every day waiting for them to be bothered to call us and give us the information we need? The last contact we had with them was from a woman claiming she had not received our IDs and documents even though we had all handed them in. I hate leaving bad reviews as I know how damaging it is but I have no other choice, maybe they will actually think about replying to me now.NegativeResponsiveness, Professionalism

Managed to get a good deal with selling our house and got 10% above asking price. I can’t say we had a great deal of communication with William H Brown but they were always polite and friendly when we did, we spoke to a number of different people throughout the process and we had accepted an offer on our house 1 week after placing it for sale and they were happy to match fees of other estate agents which is great!
