I had a leaking ceiling in the ensuite bathroom of my flat for over 3 years which caused damp to gradually rot away the plaster. After trying to get to the route of the issue with several different contractors and numerous leaders staff working on the case we finally discovered the leak was coming from the flat above. It was a nightmare to sort it all out and for a while I lost confidence that anyone at leaders would be able to get this problem solved. That is until Emma Perrin arrived at the Northwich branch. She is polite, professional, poactive and diligent in her approach to getting maintenance jobs fixed. Of all the staff who have overseen this case (there's been about seven at this point) she has been by far the most impressive and the five stars I have given for this review are for her alone. I thank her for her great service and I hope she stays wth the business.

I have been liaising with Leaders for a while now due to various issues/feedback/things whilst renting a property in the Cheshire area. I've always dealt with James and Paula who is just lovely, really professional, very understanding and extremely responsive. I moved during the pandemic and the whole process from the very start to now was very smooth, I was kept up to date, James and I had a mini celebratory high-five when I finally moved in and everything was explained to me. I knew from day one that I was in the best hands possible and being a nervous Nelly in the beginning, I was extremely anxious about legal documentation, money going out, and processes but I was put at ease very quickly by James and the team. When I had issues in the past, Paula helped me resolve them to the very best of her abilities. I had issues with neighbours previously and I was emailing every single day, sometimes being very frustrated but Paula took my emails all in her stride and exceeded my expectations, resolving the matter. She kept me up to date and really comforted me when I had an emotional break due to stress because of the troublesome neighbours. Paula is not just a representative of Leaders, she is a human and empathetic and truly understands where you're at when you have any issue. I feel Paula provides constructive feedback when things need doing such as cleaning up of communal areas, ensuring doors are locked when they need to be, getting rid of excess rubbish and general advice. She's the kind of woman you'd be happy to do something for! I have dealt with other estate agents in the past and none have been as helpful, kind or understanding as Leaders. In fact, quite the opposite! I will definitely stay with this company and would recommend them to anyone looking for a company to rent or buy with. The entire team at the Northwich office are extremely friendly and can't do enough for you. I'd like to thank Paula especially for her exceptional customer service but also friendly and warm approach with how she dealt with, and continues to deal with, me. I really can't thank you enough for all the help and advice you have provided me and continue to provide, you helped me through a really tough patch last year and you will never know how much you supported me. For anyone looking to rent or buy, Leaders is definitely the first stop. Don't look at anyone else, they will help you as much as they can and they really are people who enjoy what they do, go above and beyond and understand. Nothing is too much trouble. Without this, the purchase process would have taken at least a fortnight longer. In particular, Dan was organised, friendly and helpful. On completion day, when we finally turned up at 5 past 5 owing to delays with the solicitors, they quickly had the keys ready for us and despite the late hour were friendly and accommodating. Other agents could learn a lot from their customer service.

Initially we had dealt with Chester branch in relation to our property rental, and we found them to be a decent and honest letting agents. We are having to leave our property early, due to personal reasons, and have had a lot of contact with the Northwich branch, who we have found very helpful and understanding. I would like to mention Paula Mccafferty by name, who we have found to be very professional but also very human. She has been very understanding and considerate and treated us with dignity. Letting agents often have a bad reputation, and some companies can be very cold in the way they treat you. If I were a landlord, I would think twice about using this agent. Not only do they take properties off the market in light of receiving applications from perspective tenants that have not viewed (to then re-list because they pulled out once they had viewed), they also completely ignore perspective tenants requests to view properties. Then have the cheek to have a landlord reduce the price because they haven't managed to secure a tenant (possibly would have if you follow up leads correctly). Absolutely doing their clients a disservice!!!

Unfortunately leaving a bad review due to the lack of communication from leaders. A year ago when we rented a flat via leaders the process was quite painful with moving dates being up in the air, keys being delivered hours and hours late & the whole ordeal was a nightmare. Now when it's comes to ending our tenancy ( due to leaders advising the landlord to put our rent up & then lack of communication again on their end, resulting in us looking elsewhere) It's now been a month since the last response from them with me constantly chasing via email, we have giving our notice and they have just gone silent not giving us any form of information etc regarding handing over keys & deposits or even confirming our notice, ive had to communicate directly with the landlord. I'm honestly going to avoid renting via leaders again unfortunately due to their poor communication, ideally I'd pick up the phone and ring but I have an extremely busy work schedule and it's not just possible. I've tried to be patient, tagged multiple email addresses into the email thread and constantly chased without anyone responding. They make an already stressful situation more stressful. If you look at their responses to other reviews you can also see it's just a copied and pasted generic script thus enforcing the issues raised in this review.

This company constantly fails to meet its contractual obligations when managing your property. From the lack of regular inspections to not being able to manage a check out correctly. They are very poor at communicating and being able to reconcile outstanding issues. They are Excellent however when it comes to appointing tradesmen to do maintenance when they then add their big slice to the bill for doing very little. Avoid this company at all costs it will end up costing you more money
