Recently used Pattisons Auctions for a property I was trying to move on. Eventually received a number of bids that took the price over the minimum asking and once the hammer went down I was reassured that they property was then legally sold and contracts exchanged! After a number of days without receiving much information I was told that my ‘buyer’ had not even paid the deposit but not to worry as this would not delay completion! The 28 days passed, I moved my business out and still no completion. They told me that I was entitled to sue the buyer for the deposit and all legal fees, and they were suing them for their £6k plus auction fees but they were unable to assist me in this! They also to date have never personally given me any information as to who the buyer was including address etc! They will only pass this onto a Solicitor but I believe I don’t actually need a Solicitor to sue somebody. I have found everyone at this company very unprofessional and extremely unhelpful and I would certainly never recommend anyone uses them! They have caused me great expense and stress! Please avoid at all costs!

Now had two negative experiences first…

Now had two negative experiences first they put a property on the website I rang within an hour of seeing it to be told the renter had bought it. Why put it on the website if this is the case.Secondly had a viewing booked at a property at 10am today to be rang at 9am to say it was cancelled and that the property had sold. Not given any opportunity to bring the viewing forward only gave one other option to view which we couldn’t make. I am now reluctant to look at any property which pattinsons are marketing.

Quick and easy selling process

The whole process of selling the house was made very straightforward by the very competent and helpful staff at Pattinsons. Clear explanation of their services at valuation time and ongoing advice and support throughout the process. This company have a lot of prospective buyers on their books so the house sold quickly. Viewings were organised and accompanied by Pattinson staff as the house was empty so we were not inconvenienced. Staff at the office, particularly Geno, were always helpful if I had queries and kept us informed of any updates. I would certainly use them again if selling another house

This company is a complete disaster and…

This company is a complete disaster and are heartless, avoid at all cost! They deceived me into moving into a mould infested house, they painted it so that I wouldn't know. Few days after moving in, the mould started showing, I snapped pictures and even did a video to them, I had two toddlers at home who were reacting to this mould, even my hubby kept sneezing. We had to leave since they couldn't do anything about it. Aside the mould, we met so many rubbish in the garden, attic and behind the fence, apparently the last tenant dropped all those things, they made no attempt to remove them, I still spent £500 to throw away the rubbish. Now they have refused to return my withholding deposit, this is just sheer wickedness. Avoid this company at all cost😡😡😡😡

Avoid using any solicitors recommend by Pattisons!

I had a horrendous experience with Bridgeview Law, specifically with Ryan Kelly, the so-called "Junior Conveyancer." This firm is a complete disaster, and I urge everyone to steer clear!They picked up my case just before the completion date and sent the TR1 form less than 24 hours before the complaint date, expecting it to be signed and returned in time. They didn't even request a redemption statement from my lenders until AFTER the original completion date! I've called and emailed them countless times, but they completely ignored me.To top it off, they moved forward with the completion without any warning, claiming on the day that they were looking to complete. This was despite their prior promise that it would only take a week from the original date. They completely ruined my holiday by missing the deadline!The original completion date was supposed to be through Pattisons Auction on 22/08/24, but they finally completed on 9/9/24. Now, I'm still waiting for my funds and answers to my questions. The funds look suspiciously low, and the redemption costs seem way higher than it should be. I've raised my concerns, but once again, no response!After reading all the negative reviews, it's clear that this company is a shambles. If you want to waste your money or risk having your sale fall through, then go ahead and use them. Otherwise, do yourself a favour and avoid Bridgeview Law and Pattisons Auction like the plague!

Pattinsons are advertising an hmo( 10 students) at 10 st judes ter south shields or a man who is bankrupt and has laundered £100000 cash from trafficking immigrants and has gained the hmo licence in a fake name using a fake passport. Patt know the business is not legimate or registered with companies house or hmrc yet they are still advertising his hmo which he does not own on paper .He has police protection as he is the head of the mosque at south shieldsThis company helps people launder money which is a disgrace

The property sold had been used for rental and there had been 4 agreed sales, 3 that fell through in just over 1 year. In addition the solicitors recommended by the agent were closed down, so there was a lot of tension about buyer 4. Wendy kept on top of the progress and kept in regular proactive contact with the buyer, their solicitor and estate agent and my newly appointed solicitor. She kept me appraised of developments and was aware of the issues at each stage. Prior to this phase it had been dificult to speak with the progression team and Angela in the office had been very helpful. I think it very prudent for your firm to retain and reward Wendy in the interests of achieving customer satisfaction and providing experience, commitment and sensitive motivation to advancing sales.

I hold I property in Newcastle with Pattersons, they fully manage the property and have gone above and beyond.Stephen Wilson in particular is amazing.We had a problem with the electrical company and Stephen went the extra mile talking to the power company on our behalf and even siting in a empty property for hours out of his work hours for the company to come and fix the power.Well and truly a outstanding branch and will be using in the future to manage more of our portfolio.

We can only describe the Manager, Darren and all staff at the Pattinsons West Road branch as all absolutely brilliant! Very pleasant, friendly, and professional!From the initial valuation of our property to final contract exchange their service was excellent; great communication, information, and highly professional.An important point my wife and I would make to anyone looking for an agent is the impressive way Darren (Branch Manager), assessed our property and explained exactly what would happen regarding the sale. I dealt with Sheila Brannen from your Newcastle West Road Branch. She has been friendly, outstanding service, proactive in getting matters to progress. I was impressed with her excellent service from start to finish. In a time when I was dealing with a complicated purchase and sale Sheila was always on hand to help, the advice was always on point, always went the extra mile by obtaining updates from other parties, her time scales were accurate and helpful. She never missed a call, never failed to follow on something and always delivered on her word. Wish I had done more due diligence…

Wish I had done more due diligence before wasting 3 months with this company. Just go onto their website and sort by auction finishing soonest. Check out the number of properties that have received no offer at all (90 %) and of the 10% that have a bid check the number that is lower than the starting bid price. Given that the starting bid is likely to be about 15% below what you have said you will accept it demonstrates what a complete waste of time this is.I have had 4 viewings, no feedback and no offers . Although it is a difficult market I had received an offer, prior to going with Pattinsons £35k higher than the starting bid. They convinced me I would get an offer within 2 cycles and I am on my third which is their minimum contractual period ( 3 months)

I had a very disappointing experience with Auction. After my original sale fell through, my agent recommended using their service. They initially asked me to list my property at 20% below market value, which I reluctantly agreed to. After the first month, they asked me to reduce the price by another £30k, assuring me it would sell the same day. Desperate to sell, I agreed, but the property still didn’t sell.

renting a furnished property

We rented a furnished property through Pattinsons and did not have a good experience:They appear to advocate and favour the property owner - As a renter we felt we were very much an after thought. They were very quick in taking a deposit for the property but after this very little contact - we were told it would take 2 weeks for references to be completed it took nearly 3 weeks with very little communication from them - we had no idea if we were going to be able to move in. We were told initially that we could move in on 6th of May and later on was told it would need to be after the 15th of May since this was the first available date a gas engineer was available. Even then no estimated move in date was given it was 'some date after the 15th'- this can be quite stressful when you are between homes and you need to arrange movers etc - no empathy or understanding from Pattinsons - it was very much this is the situation deal with it. Maybe better to ensure the relevant gas certs are in place before you advertise a property? The other thing that annoyed us was that in the advertisements there were images that showed 2 TV sets - as a fully furnished property we expected these to be included but they were taken out before we moved in, we felt this was misleading and a classic bait and switch scam. We were not permitted to see an inventory before we had paid in full 1 months rent - but when you are paying for a fully furnished property you need to know what is included in the rental - . The one good thing we liked was that someone from the estate agent agreed to meet us at the property to give us the keys instead of us having to go to the estate agents. They are probably great to deal with if you are a property owner but as a renter (the people that actually pay the money) the experience was poor

Caution of Pattinson online auction Any one buying property through Pattinson online action should take extra caution.The property we bidded for online auction the proprietor registered on land registry and the seller are different. We have lost all our deposit money and auction fees including legal costs. Anyone trying to buy property auctioned with this company be extremely cautious . It's easy to say don't try because you could lose all your money.
