Wish I had done more due diligence…

Wish I had done more due diligence before wasting 3 months with this company. Just go onto their website and sort by auction finishing soonest. Check out the number of properties that have received no offer at all (90 %) and of the 10% that have a bid check the number that is lower than the starting bid price. Given that the starting bid is likely to be about 15% below what you have said you will accept it demonstrates what a complete waste of time this is.I have had 4 viewings, no feedback and no offers . Although it is a difficult market I had received an offer, prior to going with Pattinsons £35k higher than the starting bid. They convinced me I would get an offer within 2 cycles and I am on my third which is their minimum contractual period ( 3 months)

I had a very disappointing experience with Auction. After my original sale fell through, my agent recommended using their service. They initially asked me to list my property at 20% below market value, which I reluctantly agreed to. After the first month, they asked me to reduce the price by another £30k, assuring me it would sell the same day. Desperate to sell, I agreed, but the property still didn’t sell.

Caution of Pattinson online auction Any one buying property through Pattinson online action should take extra caution.The property we bidded for online auction the proprietor registered on land registry and the seller are different. We have lost all our deposit money and auction fees including legal costs. Anyone trying to buy property auctioned with this company be extremely cautious . It's easy to say don't try because you could lose all your money.

SHOCKING estate agents. My partner and I were looking to rent a property in Kettering, signed all the documents and was in the process of doing the referencing, we received an email saying the referencing had failed, I simply asked why and they told me they couldn’t discuss it with me ( our own referencing?) myself and my partner contact the people we put down as references and not a single person had been contacted. I made an offer to buy a bungalow in Middlesbrough through Pattinson estate agent which was accepted only in a week afterwords I received voice a massage from Melanie Devine (hardly divine at all) gazumping on an accepted offer which I find unscrupulous. I now don't know what will happen to the deposit I paid for conveyancing solicitor. I expected Pattinson would have taken the rotten property off the market or warned me so I wouldn't pay deposit until both side are fully committed. I now regard Pattinson as joke and wast of time a warn everyone when dealing with this state agent In response to above Pattison asked me for detail:"Thank you for your prompt reply. Frankly, I didn't expect it, given the narcissistic verbal response I received when I called to inquire about why, after officially accepting my offer a week later, the property was still on the market. I had assumed that upon acceptance, the property would be removed from sale, especially since I had already incurred expenses in engaging conveyancing services. One would expect this to be in the customer's interest.Thankfully, I hadn't yet engaged a building surveyor or engineer, saving me from further expenses. However, there was not even an apology for the wasted time and the losses incurred due to what I can only describe as total incompetence.I have previously purchased two houses through Pattison estate agents and have been satisfied, but I must express my total dissatisfaction with the handling of this particular purchase.Your response seems to favor the seller unilaterally, whereas your role as an estate agent is to provide excellent service to both parties, rather than assuming a profit-driven stance that could lead to losses to either side of the transaction. It's perfectly reasonable to temporarily suspend acceptance of an offer until securing the best offer for the vendor or until the vendor commits to selling, at least in principle. As you understand, buyers often incur expenses for engaging conveyancers and surveyors. Perhaps adopting a legal approach akin to Scotland's property transactions, which outlaws gazumping, could help mitigate situations where your conduct may be perceived as lacking, irrespective of the costs borne by those who trusted your business integrity. Then afterwords being subjected to verbal arrogance from your staff, followed by what feels like a halfway justification in your own response, which is disheartening. I've used your services twice in the past when purchasing two houses, but I won't be doing so again, will share my experience with business colleague and family in absence adequate regulation to force acceptable business conduct .M. I have had a very good experience with Pattinson estate agent.

I have had a very good experience with Pattinson from start to finish, my request for a valuation was responded to promptly and conducted with care and considered advice provided. I had several valuations and Pattinson were by a long stretch the highest and whats better they found potential buyers who made offers in the first week and we accepted an offer 1 week later. I was given good advice around the position of the potential purchasers and how this would likely effect timeline to completion etc. All of the staff I dealt with a Pattinson where happy to help and had a great system for keeping on top of cases it seemed whoever I spoke to knew exactly where things were at. I know that Pattinsons kept pressure on the Solicitors on both side and provided regular feedback without prompting. I considered not listing names as I dont want to miss anyone as all experiences where great but Lisa who valued the property stood out as did Poppy who was very prompt and reliable when seeking updates on progress. Overall we are happy with the service and the pricing was very competitive.

Had two viewings to see a property in which the women showing us around had no clue about the property and was unable to answer basic questions such as where the boiler is in the house or how old the house was; regardless went ahead and placed an offer through Alison in the jarrow branch which was accepted in which stated email confirmation would be sent which infact was never sent at all; called Allison from the jarrow branch up after confirming deposit funds and proof of solicitors and meetings for mortgage signing and she turned around and states that another offer has been accepted on the house ALTHOUGH this was multiple days after our offer was "accepted"Unorganised and somewhat unpleasant experience, very unprofessional and unfortunately I can only but wish the best for anyone dealing with the jarrow branch as my experience was dreadful due to the fact they think they could take the mick given I was a first time buyer and doubt my seriousness in purchasing a property through them

Fabulous, empathic Team at Pattinsons in Hexham

When we visited the branch in Hexham we were friendly approached and welcomed despite a language barrier we had to deal with as english is not our mothertongue. All our questions were patiently answered and repeated if need be. Although we had one particular person who dealt with our renting situation, the other members of staff in the office were also knowledgable and informed, it seemed the office works together as good team. You could feel it when you walked in.We felt taken seriously, the viewing went well and we had enough time to look around and take our decision. During the waiting time we were informed about the progress of details, which still had to be renovated as the flat was not completely ready yet.After we transferred the money for rent and the papers were signed which was also no problem at all, - it was quick and straight forward, we were handed over the keys. On the day we moved in, I was aware of a water problem, which by lunchtime was already taken care of.I feel in good hands with Pattinsons in Hexham concerning my rental agreement and know I can approach them any time if anything has to be taken care of in the future. I can highly recommend Pattinsons as a state agent in Hexham.

Lisa, a star agent with Psttinsons.

Lisa was our agent at Pattinson. Always available and super helpful. She found us a property and negotiated through a difficult situation. Ultimately we withdrew from the sale having had a completion date changed 4 times by the vendor. We moved from Spain on the strength of the original date. This left us homeless with 5 dogs and furniture in store. Although Lisa was losing a sale she found us a rental with our dogs. This is service beyond reproach. Thank you Lisa for your totally unselfish service. ****XXX I have just noticed a negative review from the vendors partner. Full of untruths and total misconceptions. Despicable to blame the agent for they and their builders fault, which left us homeless and out of pocket by thousands of pounds

Pattinsons we're very enthusiastic from day one. HOWEVER, from the day of sale, communication between their own Solicitors, myself and the buyers Solicitors broke down. My property was actually exchanged 2 months later than promised, whi h cost me 1000 pounds in extra council tax.Use your own Solicitor if you are using this company. Gordon Brown are not recommended by me
