A very good experience overall with Gemma and the team. On our first day of looking to buy in Knaresborough we had viewings booked with three different estate agents and bridgefords stood out a mile. Their local knowledge about both the town and the street was impressive. They even showed us a shortcut to get into the main town centre after the viewing without a second thought. Above and beyond. As buyers the Bridgefords contacted their clients and solicitors whenever needed. Multiple viewings requested which was not a problem.

I was looking to buy my first home and when I went to enquire with Gemma in the knaresborough branch she was friendly and helpful. She offered for me to see various properties in one day so I could get a feel for what I liked. When viewing the properties I was met by two viewing agents, Sarah and Sue they couldn’t be more friendly. Really understanding what it was I was looking for and helped me see longevity of properties for myself and making the process of house viewing exciting whilst remaining extremely professional! Sadly, I did not purchase through them as the property I chose to purchase was sold through another estate agents, however they offered for me to see Amanda, the mortgage advisor in bridgfords (countrywide fs) for help to understand what it was I could look at financially. Amanda has been so professional and helped me no end with the purchase of my property, explaining every process and following up when necessary with various contacts. I do not know what I would have done without her help. Every time I have been into bridgfords in knaresborough the ladies have been so lovely and genuinely interested in my process- fantastic customer service, especially when not purchasing through them. I would definitely use the team in knaresborough in the future and would highly recommend them super friendly and professional, customer service always top priority.

Branch staff good, conveyancing beyond horrendous

Started the journey of selling my flat with Bridgfords well, great listing, quickly found a buyer, then Bridgfords conveyancing service took over and was incompetent at every turn. 6 months on from accepting an offer I’ve had to end the sale as my mental health couldn’t handle anymore of the misleading, lies and gaslighting from their conveyancers. Was so bad even the branch staff said they were embarrassed at how bad it was.

If I could put 0 I would. My cousin gave notice that he was giving up the flat due to family and health issues. Before he was able to remove his things (within a week) they have taken his belonging and given only some clothing back. They have stolen a family air loom watch (Rolex) , cash that was for Christmas, not given back any expensive trainers .. they have drip fed some things back since like the tvs and yet to receive the Xbox, they have photos of his stuff on their report which they haven’t given back. They are not to be trusted . They are proceeding to trade non ethically and illegally. Reports to police have been made. They prey on vulnerable people

I had dealt with Bridgfords before both on a purchase and sale of my main home, when their Ripon office was open. I had found them to be very good so naturally contacted them again in their Knaresborough office when I had to sell my late mother's home. Gemma and the team (Amy, Eleanor and others) were all very professional and made the whole process as easy as possible. They found a good stream of credible purchasers who came to view, especially encouraging as it was the 4th qtr and not traditionally the easiest time to sell. They priced realistically, gave prompt and accurate feedback after viewings and negotiated well on my behalf. I feel they had my interests at heart throughout and they kept me very well informed every step of the way. I would definitely recommend them. Many thanks to all the team.

Bridgfords Gosforth

Bridgfords Gosforth - categorically the worst letting agents I have ever dealt with. They were very efficient at getting credit checks completed and the rent and deposit organised. After that though the service was appalllng. We picked up they keys a few days before we moved in and noticed a wash basin in the ensuite was smashed, and the premises was generally dirty (not mentioned on the inventory). Rang and advised - and said they could access the property to repair if necessary. It was not repaired when I moved in and I was advised this was because I needed to report through their portal. In the first week I had to report repairs - washing machine not plumbed in, broken toilet seats, kitchen cupboards so dilapidated the drawers fell out when opened, gas fire not working, thermostats missing/broken on radiators, ventilation fans not working plus the smashed basin. It took them 7 weeks to get some of the repairs done, the remainder were outstanding when I left 6 months later. I chased and chased but just got told they aren't priority repairs (repairs on white goods are supposed to be prioritised). Once I handed my notice in they were super efficient at arranging viewings to get some other poor fool to pay £850 to live in a cold badly maintained property.Although I have seen a copy of the check out report which mentioned lots of issues, all of which predated my tenancy, I have never had confirmation that the Land Lord is happy ( They brow beat me into taking a zero deposit arrangement which was very expensive so I don't have a deposit to come back) All in all swift to take your money slow to respond to issues and communications demonstrate how little they care about their tenants. I cannot recommend highly enough that you avoid this business like the plague.

The purchase of the house was fine mainly due to the purchasers and sellers interaction not due to bridgefords. We found the head of office (in shop) rude and with very little customer service. The experience we had with the previous staff Gina and Louise was great. Additionally, when we asked to remove the bridgefords sign after selling we were told they will take the sign down at their own convenience, totally unacceptable .

Just wanted to mention the first Class service received by Ellie in the Tynemouth office. She is more than helpful every time I speak to her. I am a Landlady and despite the extremely expensive charges Bridgefords have for every aspect of Letting, it is Ellie who is polite, extremely efficient, always pleasant and a delight to deal with. Service like this needs to be recognised ...Ellie should run the office as nothing is ever too much trouble. I was visiting recently from London and Ellie was off, sadly. We met Lee Johnson from Countrywide without any knowledge about house buying or what is needed to make it happen. He enabled us to create our credit profile as we had never had credit before and needed this to get a mortgage. He told us everything about getting the maximum we can afford from our salaries, making sure we had the best mortgage provider/rate and also ensuring that if anything bad was to happen, the house and our earnings would be covered and the house would be paid for! I had an appointment booked for today at 2.p.m with the view to put my house on the market so I would be in a position to make an offer on a viewing tomorrow. I received a call around 1.30 to inform me that the agent is running 30 minutes late, making the expected visit for 2.30. 3.15 came. I rang the agents to be told she's not attending. To rub salt in the wounds furthermore I was told she couldn't come to me because of traffic and she would make the visit after me late. Viewing cancelled as I had wasted my day off waiting round for nothing.
