Anna and her team have been excellent from the moment we walked through the door at Bridgfords in Knaresborough. They kept us informed throughout the selling process and were always available to answer any questions we had. The online pack including a video and photographs of the property and a well organised open day were excellent which generated a lot of interest in the property. The Bridgfords team have been very professional and friendly and are a great team to have in your corner. I highly recommend them.

Fantastic from start to finish! Firstly, upon setting out to sell my parents home Bridgfords answered the phone! sounds quite normal but many others didnt! Anna who made an appointment to meet me at the house was instantly friendly and provided me with all the answers to my questions as I had never sold a house before I was unsure of a lot of things. I had met other local estate agents the same morning and were all of similar cost but Bridgfords full package service and Annas manner won Bridgfords to contract. The team In Knaresborough were with me all the way - keeping me updated regularly and when we hit delays - NOT Bridgfords fault - Mike and Anna called regularly with much needed cheery voices to offer any support/help and did anything they could to assist. Sale has been completed now and I could not recommend this team highly enough - I would recommend to anyone and would never even consider using anyone else.

Fraud risk

Refused to return deposit after tenancy ended, eventually complying four months later after we enacted formal action. Ignored all our calls and emails, and during the little communication I could get with them I was treated with more rudeness and dishonesty than I have ever experienced. In particular Deposits Manager Paddy and Leanne consistently treated us with the utmost contempt. Probably some sort of illegal operations behind the scenes. Avoid!

I recently moved into Brigford property and I can't express how grateful I am for the fantastic support from Lucy and Murray. From the moment I began the application process, they were incredibly helpful and attentive to my needs. Lucy guided me through all the paperwork with clarity and patience, ensuring I understood everything. On move-in day, Murray went above and beyond to assist me, he helped with any questions I had and made sure everything was in order. I recently bought a flat for my mum through Bridgfords and cannot recommend them enough. It was a complicated buy but the team, particularly Mike, went above and beyond what I would expect from an estate agent. They were friendly, efficient and professional from the beginning to the end. What can I say about Bridgfords in Bamber Bridge, what an absolutely fabulous team of professionals to deal with especially Jane Catterall! This amazing lady has gone above and beyond for us firstly regarding the sale of my mum's house after she passed away, and now ourselves. Without Jane with her knowledge and wealth of experience our house move would have collapsed, she did everything in her power to get the job done, she went above and beyond, and is also a very understanding and caring individual remaining professional throughout. The Bridgfords team in Knaresborough have just successfully sold my property, while other, similar houses on the market nearby have effectively stuck. We were impressed from the outset by Anna and the team's can do approach. As the process wore on we were repeatedly struck by how human they were, while being very professional. When the inevitable bumps in the road in the house selling process occurred, these were dealt with quickly and efficiently. And at every stage they have gone the extra mile to chase up slow solicitors, other estate agents and even the local highways department to iron out issues and speed the process. They've truly been a pleasure to work with and I'd recommend them highly.

Some things never change - still shoddy

Some things never change. We bought our house through Bridgfords 5 years ago- not a good experience. They don’t answer the phone or answer emails. Today, as we’ve decided to sell the house, I thought to myself "maybe they’ve changed." I’ve called them 4 X, each time being redirected to an answering machine.I’ve emailed them and no reply. A continuation of a shoddy service continues. The 2 other estate agents I’ve contacted have replied more or less straight away and visits have been arranged. I honestly don’t know how Bridgfords survives in the current economic climate.

2 month+ deposit return delay

I rented a property managed by Bridgfords and moved out two months ago. I still have not received my deposit back. Since moving out, I have called and emailed the branch multiple times to follow up. My calls have been hung up on, and my emails have gone unanswered. For an agency that expects tenants to meet strict deadlines and requirements throughout the tenancy, this level of service at the end of the process has been disappointing. I would think carefully before renting through Bridgfords based on this experience.

1 Star is too many stars in my opinion...

I approached Bridgfords and Michael Poole last year to see about selling my late fathers Bungalow. I found their sales tactics to be a bit off, immediately trying to upsell me services I personally felt had no value, insisting it would make every difference. I begged to differ and having a bad gut feeling about them and a positive experience with Michael Poole I chose Michael Poole instead. Then came the phone calls trying to get me to switch and saying they would do a better job. After the second phone call I made it clear I was definitely not going to change my mind and asked them to remove my number from their records and not call me again. I received several other phone calls 2 or 3 weeks apart from each other and after repeatedly asking them to not call me again, the final call I received I told them (not very nicely) that if they contacted me one more time I would report them to the police for harassment as I had made it clear on several occasions I didn't want them to contact me.

We’ve been working with Bridgfords in Knaresborough while buying a house, and although our first purchase unfortunately fell through, the team quickly found us another property that’s actually an even better fit. Throughout the whole process, they’ve been fantastic, always keeping us updated, chasing things up when there were delays (through no fault of their own), and generally making the experience much less stressful. Valuation?? They can't be bothered!

Booked in a valuation with Bridgfords. They called the following morning at 830 which was very efficient. Was advised over the phone that this would take 30 minutes. Had a phone call from the Sale branch on the morning of the appointment. Asked if i intended to put my house up for sale, said it would be dependent on the equity we have in the house. He said the valuation would take and hour and a half and he could send a virtual valuation. It sounded like the guy couldn't be bothered at all. If this is the level of experience you get from someone that is trying to get your business, I would hate to think about the experience you would have selling through this place. Really poor service!

Conflict of interest

I was lied to by the manager of one of the branches when I put my property in their hands to manage and realised the tenant was friends with one of the staff, I challenged this with the manager, as soon as I realised and was told that she wasn't involved in that side of things, she very much was, she was lettings and quite possibly advised the tenant against me. It was a complete conflict of interest, one that has cost me dearly and I tend to take the matter further, I have already been in touch with ARLA. There was much more besides but this is the main issue.

Well what I can say! SHOCKING SERVICE.

Well what I can say!! After 7 years we have had enough and made the decision to move after countless problems. I am now having to move away from the area I grew up in and also I have to let my pet dog go after all the problems and YES BRIDGFORDS YOU ARE TO BLAME!!!! When we moved into the property it was just about habitable, it should not of been presented in the way it was but we were desperate. Over the years we improved the property ourselves and made it a nice home and we genuinely felt at home. Problems included heating pump problems, shower problems, we were left without a gas hob for 6 weeks, had to live practically off ready meals. Roof leaks, boiler problems which take weeks or even months to resolve. The penultimate decision to move was made when we were left without heating over the Christmas period, the house ended up like an ice box to the extreme causing massive distress to us and our young children, but they just don't care, waiting days and days for quotes to be accepted. Money comes before Health and Safety with these guys and to top it off we are being harassed to arrange viewings for new tenants, absolute joke. Unlucky for them is that I know property law, probably better than them and I have the right to refuse access to them until tenancy agreement ends. No one from the agency has ever been out to inspect the property in 7 years but they are willing to show people around, for they all know the property could be trashed. Absolutely unprofessional, some staff should be nowhere near the business of real estate. I think they think that payment of rent is just for the property, its not you pay rent for a service to which you do not get! DO NOT RENT A PROPERTY FROM BRIDGFORDS. Its just a shame it has come to this but they are to BLAME FOR IT ALL!! SIMPLE. GOOD LUCK TO WHOEVER MOVES IN!!

Unfortunately, i read these reviews quite late and I am in agreement with all the negative opinions about Bridgfords Withington. We tried to buy a flat, but when we told them that we have our own mortgage advisor, the communication stopped. When we tried to get updates, they would try to discourage us to continue. They went on making an offer for our maximum budget, despite only having 1 additional buyer who offered 25k less than us. Dishonesty/ lack of transparency and totally unprofessionalism, especially Richard/ Hammad. I am happy I did not use their services, and I now select properties which are not in their portfolio. Quite sure the seller has received a lower offer as well, which is a shame as the flat was superb. Avoid!
