Simply the best...estate agent!

I often read reviews that begin with "I never usually write reviews..." and have to admit that is me all over! However, I feel absolutely compelled to write a review for John Ray based on the incredibly outstanding service he has provided. To say nothing is too much for John would be an absolute understatement. John has taken my calls outside of office hours, on the weekend and essentially anytime I have needed him! Again to say John goes the extra mile would be an understatement. John took the time to ask pertinent questions in order to fully understand our situation and has always explained everything to us every step of the way. He is extremely thorough which is so very reassuring for both the vendor and purchaser alike. He is completely honest, transparent and empathetic. I just wish all estate agents were more like John!

Poor communication

We wanted to purchase a house through Town and country. We were the first to offer on a property, we put forward the asking price as no other offers at that point. We were called to say the house had gone no discussion or chance to counter offer, with no comeback, bad practise surely. Offer excepted before speaking to parties involved. Should you talk to all parties before returning to vendor for a decision? I think so

I had been looking for a property in Norwich for many months and dealt with a number of other local agents during that process, however, none of those that I dealt with provided the same level service that the Norwich office of F&C provided. I have just purchased a property through them and they were efficient and professional at all times. Never once did my calls go through to voice mail and there was always continuity. I would particularly like to mention Richard Cross of the Norwich office who ensured that the sale and purchase ran smoothly. He dealt with issues as they arose and gave helpful advice throughout. I also loved the write up about the house which included details about its history. This is something very few agents do. I would wholeheartedly recommend F&C to my friends and family.

the Wales, (Narberth branch ) of this franchise is operated on a a totally unprofessional basis, With its insincere attitude towards clients plus the lack of communication skills and businesses etiquette, which is totally unprofessional . This brings the respected name of fine & country into total disrepute, through this total attitude and disregard of customer care it has lost this franchise 2%( higher than most other estate agents) a possible commission on a potential sale of 2 properties estimate value £2.3 million.This attitude sets a really bad example for the people employed at this branch who are forced to make excuses on behalf of the management for the lack of their interest in anything regarding decency and professionalism

Where to begin

Where to begin ? Liz and Nicola at the Rugby office of F&C found us our buyer when the previous agent had failed miserably . They secured the sale by being efficient , keeping both us and our buyers up to date at all times , and liaising between solicitors etc.. Achieving a sale is usually fraught with uncertainty but both did their utmost to minimise this and to relieve the stress . At all times they were friendly and re-assuring. My wife and I cannot speak highly enough about them and would recommend their services to anybody wishing to buy or sell a house . I'm almost sad it's all over ( not really!! ).

Called up to request a viewing on a property to be told an offer had been accepted the day before. My partner rang a couple of days later to be told an offer had just been accepted so a different story.Some three weeks later, the property still appears to be on the market on their website and on Rightmove.The branch in question is Staffordshire and, as of today, the property is still not showing as ‘Under Offer’

Excellent service from the Worcestershire office:

Our country equestrian property has recently been sold by Vanessa & Halina at the Worcestershire office. Both ladies were professional and extremely helpful. Communication was good and they both spent considerable time getting to know and understand the property. The marketing was first class including brochures and videos and they worked hard at finding the right buyers and not carrying out viewings for the the sake of it, for example buyers looking for more land than was available which in turn limited wasting time for all involved. Can highly recommend these ladies.

Sale of my house

This was a positive experience and had a good outcome. The fact that Covid-19 reared its ugly head just as I decided my house was ready to go on the market was no-one's fault but it did affect the length of time the whole process took, which was unfortunate. I would have very much liked things to have happened more quickly but accept that as far as I'm aware, in all circumstances, everyone was doing their best despite the difficulties.

First Class service from A Top Team

First Class service from Freddie, Katie, Declan and Mandy from the beginning. 2 excellent offers very close to the asking price and regular updates by telephone and email confirmation. The team were always professional, polite and in most cases returned calls the same say or within 24 hours. Compared to the experience with some of the big “National names” F&C were Premier League and the other League 2 despite the fee quotes being much higher with the “Big National” companies. I highly recommend F&C.

I tried to view a property in Compton…

I tried to view a property in Compton Martin, I emailed, them and called them 4 times, only on final call a week later they booked me in. Then two days before the appointment they then wanted me to rearrange! I have just sold two properties in The Chew Valley with another agent, who were far more efficient! Sellers also be aware, their contract states that if you pull out of a sale, you have to pay their fee!

Cheam/London office, no one replied to my emails viz zoopla or direct to office. I then called and got "Joel" who said he would send me details and didn't. I then got Sharon who finally did do what she said she would do. But thereafter, got no further assistance from her with any meaningful replies to questions about a property. And at a site viewing, she rudely refused us parking and could not answer questions about the site. Pretty shocking quality from customer service, sales, and estate agent perspectives and I would warn people to be very careful any properties this lot have (which is not many thankfully)
