I have recently completed the purchase of a flat and I would love to share an amazing experience I had with Shaws Kensington! I had been viewing flats for months and many estate agents were there to just show and sell. However, with Shaws it was different - it was great! I first viewed the flat with Rennelle, who was great, very friendly, answered all questions, showed the flats without rushing me and then she showed me the flat to be… With my further viewings of that flat Axel took over. Axel is an estate agent everyone hopes to find! He knows the market inside-out. His straightforward approach was refreshing, always providing clear and honest advice and realistic expectations without any pressure (no pressure from an agent is very important!). Also, Axel’s personality and sense of humour made the whole experience much easier. Another important factor is that Axel always responded queries very quickly and he was flexible. If you’re looking for an agency that truly knows what they’re doing and makes the process enjoyable along the way, Shaws Kensington is the perfect choice!

Shaws were fabulous helping us sell our property in Baron's Court. They made the entire process seamless from valuing, showing the property to the offer process and closing the deal. Brilliant service by Caesar Matthias and his colleagues. Caesar in my opinion went the extra mile for us and is very thoughtful and approachable. It’s a shame we never managed to meet but we live in Kent and Caesar made sure things were dealt with so we didn’t need to go to London. It’s been a long process due to probate and a difficult case but we have finally sold the property in Queens Club Gardens and hope the new owner will be very happy there.

The process of renting through the agency was good - we viewed with Adam who was prompt at responding and quick at securing the property for us which in this market is very much needed! They are petty in deposit release process. We were asked for additional cleaning charges (£100) even though we left the apartment completely clean. Just a random number on some random spots in the apartment, which were in the same states we found them. Offered £5 just for giggles. They still had to recounter with £20. So we said whatever. The person who does the inventory check has the objective to find spots in the apartment so they can claim some deposit. So her job is fishing. Doesn't matter the amount, doesn't matter if that spot is physically impossible to clean, and doesn't matter that spot has never ever been cleaned. It could be the oven door which has twenty years of oil between its two glasses, it could be inside of the rubber of the washing machine. It is just straight pettiness. Obviously, TDS would have laughed and dismissed such claims given how inconsequential they are. The whole process just left a sour taste, and I advice everyone not to leave them a penny on such claims. Overall they are responsive and we had no complaints apart from the deposit issue. Since probably landlord also played a big role in such deposit claims, I rate them three stars.

My wife and I rented through Shaws and it is the biggest scam for landlords. One time we had a leak in the apartment. They sent their plumber who insisted on changing the sink - which did not need to be changed - it was an issue with the pipes. We told this to Shaws and they asked us why we worried about this - it is the landlord's problem. A few months later they told us the landlord wanted to increase the rent. We tracked the landlord down and contacted them - he lived in the same estate - he had not requested a rent increase at all. Shaws is a complete scam.

The agents at Shaws were extremely helpful in securing our property. They bent over backwards to negotiate for us when we were up against offers from other companies and were ultimately the reason that we got the place. Romina was our main point of contact and was so kind and helpful. It was a pleasure working with her! Update - the sales process was one of the best we experienced, but afterwards we didn’t have the greatest experience. The landlord had an issue he needed to fix with the gas lines prior to us moving in and asked us to push back our move day by 2 weeks (which we were fine with as we thankfully had some flexibility on our side with our current place). Shaws confirmed the new move in date and we proceeded as normal. The week of our move we set up our standing order and had even moved over our utilities, cancelled our internet etc. The Thursday before move in - we were contacted by shaws with a waiver from the landlord saying that the gas leak might not be fixed and would we be willing to move into a (cold) Gass less flat with no safety certificate while also waiving all of our tenancy rights. We were shocked as this was the first time we had heard that there was a possibility the gas would not be fixed by our new pushed back move date. We indicated that we weren’t comfortable with the arrangement but would like some clear timelines as to when the flat gas issues would be fixed by and discuss a new move date. At that stage we were put in touch directly with the landlord who indicated that he would know more on Friday (literally the day before we were due to k or in) but he wouldn’t give any indication as to timelines until Friday. Friday comes around and he assured us he would have more info on timelines. He was not apologetic at all about the predicament he was putting us in as we originally thought we had a drop dead move out date (again thankfully our current place was able to be more flexible). Friday evening comes around and he still doesn’t have an update on when this issue would be fixed and completely ignores our questions as to when. We decided to pull out of the lease because of how not forthcoming he was being and how shady not having the gas fixed and the waiver of rights had been. I believe that shaws was also taken advantage of by this landlord - however - I do believe that their team should have been on top of making sure the flat was ready for our move in date and flagged the issue to us much earlier. The first time shaws informed us of the issue potentially not being fixed was 2 days before our move in date and that was simply not acceptable. We felt as tho they should have flagged it earlier and that they should have been staying up to date with the situation in order to inform us of the progress. We were faced with the unfortunate choice of moving into a flat that hadn’t had all of the legal certificates signed off or potentially have to rent short term because of our current flat lease running out. Shaws was very helpful in reimbursing all of our deposits and making sure things were wrapped up. We appreciated that that part of the process was not a hassle. We saw the property we were due to rent delisted with two other agencies the following week for a higher rental price. Beware of that landlord !PositiveResponsiveness
