A totally unprofessional company

A totally unprofessional company, lacking the bare minimum in politeness and communication. An inadequate check in document followed by multiple difficult communications over months. Property was not professionally cleaned and had junk left behind but Portico weren’t bothered. Whenever I called Megan was ‘too busy’ to talk and unable to call back. Rental arrears aplenty. Despite paying the management fee myself the tenant contacted me directly and I ended up managing issues. All sorts of issues with Portico. I would never use this company for any property ever again. Dodgy company.

Daniel Cantle is the real estate advisor you want behind you, championing your property sale

Daniel Cantle acts as an advisor and led me through a challenging process. I also worked with Alannah who was professional, friendly and listened to every aspect of the highlights of my property.I highly recommend working with Daniel and his team, even before making the final decision to put my home on the market, Daniel went above and beyond to give me direction and even helped suggest an offer price based on comparables for a property I wanted to purchase (not in the area, nor with Portico - that was also on a Saturday evening when I was under immense pressure to offer from another estate agent in Central London).Daniel and Alannah got me an offer on my property on the second viewing and the lead was already in their database, it did not come from being on Zoopla etc., this impressed me.Daniel is the kind of estate agent you want to sell your property and have behind you to get you the very best offer. highly recommend Daniel and Alannah at Portico if you are looking to sell in the Woodford Green area.

When I first rented the flat, I faced some trouble with the person handling the initial paperwork, he told me I would get the keys in three weeks, but after waiting that long, it was delayed by another month. However, once everything was sorted, my experience during the tenancy was excellent.

Daniel Cantle and his team at the Woodford Essex Branch exceeded all my expectations by milesDan in particular was very professional and was instrumental in selling a property for us quickly in Woodford Green Essex I explained I lived 200 miles away and my mother had gone into a nursing home unexpectedly leaving us with a real dilemma on our hands Dan came to our rescue and found us a firm to empty all the contents for a very very reasonable price then the same again for a Locksmith He came to meet me at the property at short notice well past 6.30 pm ,nothing was too much trouble He had all the photos and sale ect live on all major web sites within 3 days Then within another week we had over 50 offers and 22 actual viewings carried out by Dan and his team inc Bilal Ahmed who was also very professional and hard working Portico sifted through all the offers and advised us which one to go with If you could clone these guys you’d have a world full of perfect Estate AgentsWell Done Portico you have a great asset in Dan and Bilal

It came a moment when we should either find another tenant or renew the current lease contract with the actual tenants. Without being into UK for quite some time, we are not cleary aware of any changes in the rental market. Uwais Malilk has been very precise in all information given to us and options we could take and is very efficient to conclude a renewal with our tenants with conditions cited before.

Happy with the service

I used Portico for about 6 years to let my flat and had no problems, until the end of the last tenancy where a deposit dispute was necessary. Natalie Banton handled the case diligently and I was awarded money back which covered my expenses to set the flat right. Many thanks to Natalie. Also to Marc McIlveney in lettings office, and Mark Sivell and Michelle Ford for handling the eventual sale of the flat.

Awful and unprofessional

Letting through portico Bloomsbury has been the most stressful and awful experience. They hardly ever reply to emails even when our flat had no heating for a month. Their work is inconsistent and often unprofessional. After moving out it has been over a month and we still have not received our deposit back. Property manager Charmaine Fernandes refuses to reply to emails. I’m honestly fed up of dealing with portico, I just want my deposit back so I can be done with them.

Densel has been very professional throughout the process, He has very good knowledge of the local area, which helped when selling our house. He has always communicated through each stage and was prompt when answering any of our questions even on his days off. Estate agent experience was not good

Estate agent experience was not good at all, for example we travelled all the way down to London from the north to view a property we’d had an offer accepted on (having not yet seen it) and portico had agreed / arranged with the landlord. Then emailed us whilst we were on the way to say there was work being done and we could no longer see it, after much pleading and us essentially not taking a no as an answer we did manage to go, however there was so much un necessary stress through our experience securing a lease with Portico (very grateful they don’t manage our flat), wouldn’t recommend them unfortunately as they don’t show much care to the tenants involved, you feel like just another number.

Retracted offer to accept longer offer but then lied about it

Unfortunately, Portico does not live up to its word in regards to some properties. I attempted to book Portico 2 Casa in Barbados for 4 nights and the offer was initially accepted by the owners. However, the owners retracted their offer when an offer came in for a longer stay. They stopped all communications and then advised that the owners were going to take the property off the market potentially due to health reasons. However, later I confirm that I was only told this so that I could stop trying to book the property. The property was then booked from November 24th through December 5th. The owners cannot say that this was already booked because it would not have allowed me to book the property from November 27th through December 1st if it was already booked previously when I was trying to book as it would have stated that it was unavailable. I think that this is very unprofessional and I was not happy about the way I was handled.

Dealt with Portico as a tenant last year, it was a terrible experience. They made things up, were unresponsive and generally untrustworthy. Portico tried to sneak in charges, up the rent days before contract renewal despite not returning our emails for months and had a rotating cast of clowns who couldn't answer the simplest of queries, they'd probably forget their own names if it didn't automatically pop up in their email signature. Had to deal with the landlord directly the entire time despite Portico allegedly managing the property. I wouldn't trust them to organise an Italian BMT at Subway.
