Me and My girlfriend have been looking for our first property together for a while now. Over a period of a few months, we had put offers in for several properties. Unfortunately, we were not successful with any of them, and the process was becoming stressful for us both. (Enters Tommy Taylor on his white horse) I went into the branch in Leyton to enquire about any new properties that might of come available to view. I met Tommy, he sat me down and took the time to understand what me and my partner were looking for in our first home. He made it clear right away that he was not going to waste our time by showing us every property on their books. We viewed a couple of properties with Tommy, it was clear that he knew what we wanted in a home, he took his time to talk to us, to get to know us, and understand our tastes and values are. Within less than two weeks Tommy found us our first home together that ticked all our boxes. From start to finish the process was quicker than expected with Tommy, Bill and the team at Portico Leyton. The team have been brilliant. They made the process very easy for us and provided very good recommendation with Brokers and Solicitors who they work closely with and trust. If you are looking to sell or buy a property, go into Portico Leyton, and ask for Tommy.

1 year ago I rented a flat in Leyton… (Deposit troubles)

Last year I rented a flat in Leyton through an agency called Outlook. It was the worste estate agency I've ever dealt with in 14 yrs I've been renting in London. If you want details of what happened, I wrote 3 bad reviews about them (1 per accident).Outlook has been now absorbed by Portico but things haven't improved. They actually got worse. I left the flat in Leyton at the end of my 1 year contract because the landlady decided to sell the flat. My last day in the flat was the 20th of November (Sunday). Emily who works for Portico now (and was previously working for Outlook) told me and my ex flatmate that they would have inspected the flat on the following Friday (25th), send the report to the Landlady and if everything was fine give us our deposit back. Today is the 5th of December, the landlady did not receive any report, Emily is ignoring my multiple emails and ghosting my ex flatmate on the phone. God knows if and when we will see our deposit back. It shouldn't be like this at all. First of all, they shouldn't ignore us like this. Also, by now they should have at least send the report tonthe landlady. We need our deposit back since we left the place immaculate and the deposit is in a protection scheme. If you are honest people like us, avoid this agency like the plaugue.

We sold our family home via Daniel Cantle and his team at Portico and they have been an absolute dream to deal with. Daniel is very thorough, knowledgeable and extremely professional and although we lost a buyer whilst we took and age to find a property to purchase there was no pressure on his part. Estate agents don't always have a good reputation but Daniel is one of the good ones and we considered him to be more of an advisor than a salesperson.Can't recommend him and his team highly enough.

Portico is Uncaring and Incompetent

My experience with Portico Bloomsbury was ok for most of my tenancy but it was utterly terrible at the end. At the beginning of my tenancy Portico was quite helpful and well organised. However, at some point they had been acquired by a larger company and then the quality in service fell to a shocking level.When my tenancy in Euston was coming to an end I had organised a separate company to clean the flat the day after my tenancy had ended. Portico agreed to this and said that they would leave the key in a box outside Portico for the cleaners to pick up. They failed to do this and I got charged anyway because the cleaners had to wait for a long time as no one showed up to the office when it was supposed to open. I then had to argue with Portico to say that I should not have to pay for cleaning anymore because I had sorted it out and it was Porticos fault that no cleaning actually happened. They agreed and accepted their mistake, but this should not have happened in the first place.Prior to this, my calls were being consistently ignored by Portico for hours when I was trying to sort out and understand what I was supposed to do in order to properly vacate the property. I even went to Portico in person to talk to them as they kept saying that they were busy, they simply did not care as I was no longer paying money due to me moving out.After that terrible turn of events happened the matter of the deposit began. Initially they attempted to charge me for cleaning despite them already agreeing that they would cover it as it was their fault. They also tried to charge me for missing items, which were clearly visible in photos on the Check-in and Check-out documents which they had provided themselves. They tried to charge me for a broken door which was low-quality, cheap and several decades old. They did this despite my reporting it to Portico stating that it was broken before the end of the tenancy, which they had an obligation to fix free of charge. They attempted to charge me for leaving items behind which all were present in the flat when I moved in and was present in the check-in photos which they provided themselves.All of these charges I got removed but it took a staggering 50 days of emailing and having to repeat myself to them over and over again. The incompetence was astounding. They could not even properly compare documents which they provided as evidence to charge me with. I had to sort through them, evidence the truth and present it to them when the burden of proof was on them as they were the ones making the claims. They were charging ridiculous prices for the things that they were claiming. For example, for a cheap old plywood door they said that it would cost us £375 (approx) to get it repaired and that this was actually only half of the price!I would not recommend Portico - Bloomsbury to anyone. It is a terrible organisation, it does not care about it's tenants and behaves in an unprofessional way due to the incompetence of its staff.

Erick is one of the best estate agents ! Right from viewing to renting out the property, Erick was extremely professional. He made sure that we were happy throughout the process, nice friendly person who dealt with all our requests. I have been to many estate agents in UK before i decided to go portico Hammersmith and most of the other estate agents don’t bother when you turn up for viewing they don’t even smile at you . I must say Erick smile made all difference. Even after we have moved in Erick is always available and responsive. We had a leak problem and within an hour Engineers were here to fix them. A totally unprofessional company

A totally unprofessional company, lacking the bare minimum in politeness and communication. An inadequate check in document followed by multiple difficult communications over months. Property was not professionally cleaned and had junk left behind but Portico weren’t bothered. Whenever I called Megan was ‘too busy’ to talk and unable to call back. Rental arrears aplenty. Despite paying the management fee myself the tenant contacted me directly and I ended up managing issues. All sorts of issues with Portico. I would never use this company for any property ever again. Dodgy company.
