Recently went through Portico to rent a property in London. Erick kindly provided a video of the property we eventually rented as we were unable to view in person as we were living abroad. Communication with Erick was efficient and timely throughout and this made the process as stress free as possible. Following moving in to our new flat queries were answered in an equally succinct manor. I would recommend Portico, especially to those moving to London from over-seas.

Friendly letting agent, helpful service

The letting agent Lauren was very friendly and helpful throughout the process and provided excellent communication. She wasn't too pushy as well when we were slow with things. There were a few frustrations with the process, primarily a couple of broken furniture pieces which were not made aware to us in advance of signing and works not being sorted until after we moved in, but on the whole the property side of things went very smoothly and we are very pleased with the house!

Avoid at all costs.

Once again I'm forced to edit my review after them begging me to change it to a good one in the first place. Avoid this company at all costs. Terrible work ethic, unprofessional and rude. I feel like I'm talking to a politician with their scripted answers and careless replies. Not only did they allow me to move into a disgusting unclean flat full off the last tenants rubbish hidden in the basement. But after doing things like taking days off work so they could service the boiler which they assured me was a routine check it was revealed shortly after they were in fact doing it to get me out of the property and completely lied about the purpose. After which they threaten me with their contract, cherry picking parts that suit them and trying to lie to me again. Holly is both rude, uncaring and arrogant, I've asked them to wait till Thursday for a evaluation as I'm not there and my disabled cousin is on his own and would be very stressed with unknown people trying to come in, yet they continue to harass me with emails saying they will break in without me there, even though I have 2 whole months till I move out. Absolutely disgusted with how I've been treated by Holly Pearson.

Re Portico Clapham Common office. Rented a property from portico for a year. When we moved in it was not clean at all. Found mouse droppings, which was reported but not believed until we actually saw the mouse. Did not give us a complete inventory. Actually gave us an inventory for the wrong property. After telling them they did nothing about it. Not really an issue as tenants but the landlord was annoyed. At the end of the tenancy had to chase multiple times to try and find out what was happening as no clean or inventory had been done on move in. Just got told they would get back to us. Still went through all the usual processes without actually having discussed with us what was going on, or communicating to their own staff. Honestly the most incompetent and useless estate agents. If you’re renting it’s fine as they do nothing to confirm the state of the property on move in, but if you’re a landlord definitely not ideal and would complete avoid! I cannot stress enough how incompetent and useless they are as estate agents.

We listed our property with the Leyton branch. From the get go their service was great. Both Mark and Michelle were great a getting viewings booked in, confirming bookings and hosting bookings. They fully understood our need to secure a certain amount for our property so that we could continue or journey. We had early offers but couldn’t accept as they were too low. They were patient and understanding and did all they could to secure us more bookings. When we sold our property they were right there with information support and guidance. Michelle was great at helping me chasing solicitors , estate agents, the lot. You name it she was there, a real trooper, cold not have got through the last couple of months with her. She had my back the whole way in what was quite honestly so stressful because of other professionals!Thank you

She was great, really helpful and friendly - and organised enough to show us four properties at the same time (which wasn’t the case with other estate agents). Jade also patiently helped us to resolve a couple of communication issues with the referencing agency, which alleviated a bit of last minute stress. Michelle dealt with the initial stages of my house sale and was friendly and professional. Spencer took over and had a lot to deal with, as it was a lengthy and trying process. He was efficient, professional and personable, keeping me updated in a timely maner with good and bad news. Communications could have been tricky, as I was on the other side of the world, with a five hour time difference. Spencer used his initiative to counter various issues and remained positive, professional and courteous throughout. Deserves a medal.

Really good local estate agents in Leyton who know the local market inside out. We’ve used Portico twice now as the service is excellent and we know the people there. They don’t have much turnover so six years later when we returned we were able to deal with the same people who remembered us! The whole team helped get our transaction over the line but worth mentioning Mike Chapman in particular who was very good & sold our flat in just a few weeks.
