Ignore ignore ignore this company you pay them holding deposit I send you some documents and you say it's still ok and you can move on the date indicated in the contract, and 3 days before you move I don't answer your phone at e-mail and call you the day before you move and you say something is wrong .and when you tell them to return your holding deposit they answer that the deposit does not return. It's a company of scammers, scammers, scammers

My family and I had agreed rental on an apartment at the Highbury stadium square. We had agree a move in date of Saturday and that keys would be given to us at the office. On the friday prior, our lettings agent contact Louis, called me on my mobile which I didn’t have access to , the messages were very abrupt and short stating that deposit hadn’t been received and that it needed to be done immediately. I was told by Louis that this would be done on the exchange of keys being the Saturday. I was in the office at work on friday and I. A client meeting all afternoon. I managed to text him that I was unable to do this in the next three hours or so and he continued to bombarded me with text messages and calls. I found his conduct unacceptable, rude, antagonising and unprofessional. He made the entire situation very stressful. He sent me very short and demanding text messages threatening that there would be no move in date that Saturday , why would he not call me earlier in the week to state this?!? Because he is rubbish at his job that’s why. From a glance at the other poor Google reviews it looks as if the Italian and Spanish speaking colleagues have a bit of a racist attitude toward Hispanic and Latino Americans customers. All the reviews with 1 star are from that cultural background. As I was not able to respond to him, he kept calling my mobile fully well that I couldn’t answe and left voice mails stating that he had not heard back to me and that the administration office was going to close at 16.30 that fiesta evening and that basically we would be homeless!! How dare they antagonise me in such manner, Utterly unacceptable!! Charlene, Louis’ manager, was also not any help to diffuse the situation she also spoke to me at around 17.45 and said the move would not occur tomorrow morning as planners, made things even more stressful as I didn’t have my credit card with me at my office to make the transfer.Portico staff are rude, short, aggressive on the phone. And I would advise anyone who is thinking of using this agency to stay well clear. During our tenancy they were slow at answering their emails, of course why wouldn’t they, they are just there to take the money and swipe their hands clean. Awful company.

GoogleI have dealt with portico in the past and everyone there is extremely helpful. The most contact I had was with Michelle and Mark Sivel and they were great, couldn’t have asked for more really. Everything was dealt with swiftly and promptly. Would highly recommend

Me and my partner rented a flat in Kensal Rise. The check-in was terrible, and done before we got there as they had arrived about an hour earlier then we where told to get there. We pointed large marks in the floors and stuff left by the land lady. Instead the check-in clerk pointed out coffee stains (that i cleaned up....) and that was about it. We sent them emails and photos of the areas not addressed and they where ignored.. nothing, no response! Not to mention the garden was overgrown with weeds up to our knees. We made this place loverly and broke our backs doing the garden up! When it was time to leave, guess what ... The checkout clerk was extremely 'thorough' They tried to charge us for the Land ladies belongings that she left, the marks we had flagged and told us the garden had weeds (he REALLY didn't look at the before photos) Not to mention the incapability of the staff in the office to add to it. Honestly, terrible and way overpriced. Also ... If you lookup Portico on this website you'll see an old company filled with only bad reviews and not taking on any more, a little bit suspicious? I suspect the majority of these reviews have been bought.

Fantastic people. Really good company. Rent my apartment from them. Did a virtual view online and they took me through all necessary processes and in few days I moved in. Even got a welcome gift lol and another good thing was their website is user friendly. You see the process of everything you are doing on their website this let you know how the process are going. I like that.

My flatmate and I rented with Portico Islington from December 2020 to February 2022. When I arrived in the flat it had not been professionally cleaned. It took three weeks of antagonising back and forth for the agents to agree that we would not be liable for a professional clean at the end of the tenancy.When our kitchen sink got blocked we were immediately gaslit into thinking we were responsible by both the property manager and the handyman, and we were threatened with charges. When it was discovered that the blockage had nothing to do with us, we received no apologies for the previous threats. It took two weeks for this simple drain blockage to be fixed.The property we rented had been very poorly refurbished. A lock was missing on the door when we moved in, the kitchen tap was not attached, and the flooring was incomplete.The bathroom fan did not work and the bathroom suffered continuous mold. Again, we were blamed for this with no evidence. I informed the property manager when we moved out that the mold problem was recurring. They did not suggest that they would take action.Communication with the agency was deeply flawed, we never received confirmation that our deposit was protected, property managers took up to a week to reply to our emails if ever, they were uncontactable by phone.When we moved out the landlord attempted to charge us for breaking an item that was listed as intact on the inventory.Regardless, we have now received our deposit back so we are rid of this agency, hopefully for good.Do not rent with Portico Islington.

We used to rent a property in Walthamstow and had the most awful experience in my 10 years of renting in London. They should be reported and shut down. They charged us extortionate fees to renew our contract every year, but when it came to carrying our repairs, they took absolute ages. We were left with a leaky boiler for over a month, and as a result had to pay a small fortune for the water bills. On the day of our check-out, they cancelled in the last moment (when we were already waiting in the flat). They were generally very unpleasant to deal with and would take ages to get anything resolved. Would really warn against renting through them.

Compared to other agencies we had, portico has been unhelpful from the start, they did not help us in transferring basic utilities, such as how to load gas, electricity, and did not even handed over gas card and electric keys, as we are new here to the UK they did not even left us instruction on how to do it and have to figure it out on our own. Despite numerous follow ups, they did not also gave us keys for the backdoor hence we had not used the garden for almost 6 months until we actually hire a locksmith to unlock it and get access.During our tenancy, we had experience moulds, leaks, and flooding in the property which they have responded poorly, we have reported it from the 6th month of our stay but was only partially resolve in the last 2 months of our stay, as we have already reported it to the council. During our end of tenancy, we were contacting them on where handover the keys as we left the property couple days early but got no response, when they got back to us they rudely and irritably spoken to us over the phone and telling us we could be charge for not having to return the keys when we contacted them prior days before.Its almost a month since we left the property our deposit has not been returned, and they were responding poorly and putting us in circle between agency and the landlord.I do not recommend going to them as they are unprofessional, not caring to their tenants, and rude. Changing agent is a 100% improvement for us in terms of comfort, safety, and just confident that we'll be fine when anything goes wrong.
