Unhelpful, discourteous, and pushy.Just a couple of days after moving into the property, the lettings manager had not given us any information about the alarms, locks, anything at all really. Because of the type of lock fitted on the front door, we were not able to get back into our new home that first week with our door keys. It was 5.45pm mid week and as it was a managed let, we called MG for assistance. Too lazy to help us, they told us to call an emergency out of hours number, which nobody answered. (Again, before 6pm mid week). So sorting that out ourselves cost us over £400.Prior to that we hadn't been able to get them off the phone. Constantly leaving WhatsApp messages and voice notes (i think an avoidance of putting some things in writing is shifty) multiple time a day during our honeymoon, being really pushy about things that could definitely have waited 3 more days.On the rare occasions they did do anything in the way of managing the let (the landlord ended up doing everything himself and directly with us anyway, such a waste of his money too), their attitude was lousy. "We need to do xyz, and if you're not home we'll let ourselves in with the keys we want you to know we can use at any time cos this isn't really your home" vibes.I'm not sharing more examples here but it was consistently poor service and poor attitude. We got no value from them, and our landlord had a similar experience.They're just vultures profiting from housing insecurity, offering nothing of actual value to anyone.I'm not sure how other agents compare these days but based on my personal experience with MG, I'll be using any one of their competitors next time.*date of experience; August 2022 - August 2024

I tried to book view for 2 bedroom property. Call them and a lady said that she will call me back, she never did. I sent more enquiries and then a gentleman contacted and asked our details (income etc), I replied asap but never heard back from him. Another 3rd person gave me his WhatsApp number I sent all informations what he needed and then he said that there is NO AVAILABLE PROPERTIES for me!!!!!!! Im not looking for a castle just a 2 bedroom property and they have more then 450 properties on the website ( but nothing available for me- they said), not available 2 bedroom flat! I guess if my nationality is different and I have more income then they will find properties for me as well. Very disappointed, terrible customer service!

Terrible service from Martyn Gerrard Estate Agents! Last year, I found a rental property through Rightmove and decided to go for it after a quick viewing. They demanded a non-refundable deposit of £500, stating that if my references didn't pass, I wouldn't get my money back. After submitting my details, they asked for more information about my rental history, which I couldn’t provide as I've lived at my current address for 10 years.A representative named Simon informed me that my references were not acceptable to the landlord. When I asked for a partial refund of £250, they bluntly refused, claiming the property was off the market, which was not true as it remained listed online. It's clear they use this tactic to collect deposits from multiple people without ever intending to rent out the property. I highly recommend avoiding Martyn Gerrard at all costs to save yourself from a similar experience.
