I bought via the selling agents Knight Frank. My own sale transaction turned into the stuff of nightmares and took 7 months to complete! Throughout this time I dealt with Michael Houlden at the Cambridge office of Knight Frank. Michael was brilliant throughout and had to do rather a lot of placating of his understandably increasingly anxious sellers. He’d check in with me from time to time and always offer sensible, but not overbearing, advice on how I might resolve the various obstacles in the way of my own sale. On top of that Michael always responded immediately to any queries I had. I’ve just woken up in my beautiful new home and I don’t think I’d have been able to say that unless I’d had the support, as I did, from Michael.

My experience with the apartment letting agency KnightFrank has been overall positive. I have closely worked with the agent Sarah Rynne from the Aldgate KnightFrank office. She is extremely professional and a charismatic person - she helped with every issue we encountered along the way, and went above and beyond to help us out when we needed it, given we were quite stressed and inexperienced with the UK’s letting processes. It was an absolute pleasure having her help us out - and deserves a 10/10, same with the manager Andrew. At other times prior to meeting with Sarah, it felt as if we, tenants, had to ask for various information about our situation. There were times that we felt like we needed to specifically ask about certain details that are necessary to communicate coming from an agency. From our side (the tenants) we even felt like fish out of water when we had to go back to the physical agency to ask for more details, and perceived a sense of judgement from only a couple of surrounding agents that we did not directly deal with, as if “oh great, they are hear again” (mind you, we paid visit to the offices 4 times in 2 months lasting 2 minutes - asking for updates. That says everything). Now, I understand that some tenants don’t care about certain important details, but some do, since it’s not an insignificant amount of money we pay. However, these were some times that some agents could be more sympathetic about the situation, as some people feel more at ease if more important information is communicated rather than not. Overall, some parts of the process were excellent, some could use some adjustments!

My partner and I are currently in the process of relocating in London to a different apartment. Through out the process we were helped out by a lovely agent Louna Del Barrio. She even organised a second viewing for us, despite that not being a very common practice, many agencies would decline that request or deem it unreasonable. Yet we had some concerns about the prospect apartment, and Louna’s meticulousness and fast problem solving has solidified the decision to sign the contract and move in. From start to finish of signing the contract and moving in, Louna has been the biggest help we could have hoped for, very fast communication even on weekends and out of normal working hours. She dealt very quickly with any emergencies we had at move in and we always felt “taken care of” by Louna and Knight Frank in this process.

Finding the right place to live in London can be challenging, especially if you are a foreign university student renting in the country for the first time. As soon as I started my search, two things became quickly evident:1. Not all real estate agents take students seriously.2. When you find a house you like, don't get attached straight away. You might have to put in an offer on multiple properties before you hear a "yes."It is quite a discouraging process. Therefore, I would recommend anyone in this position find a real estate agent they trust and can count on. Once I emailed Sophie Klineberg, she called me straight away. Sophie made a point of getting to know me and everything I needed to fall in love with an apartment. She did not give up until she found it for me. She was always available to answer any of my questions and was super easy to reach out to. Sophie was kind and, when I received rejections from landlords, she reassured me not to worry and that we would find another place.I will forever recommend anyone I know reach out to Sophie if they are looking for a house. It was a pleasure to meet and work with her. She found me the perfect apartment.
