Very disappointing overall experience…

Very disappointing overall experience with John D. Wood. Property managers who simply don't care and go AWOL when you email or call with a query or issue you need help with. Took far too long and proably broke the law in terms of the time between us moving out and getting our deposit back. Would not recommend as a result of our experience. If you work there at a senior level then your staff need some management training and your whole organisation needs to up it's game.

Terrible on all counts!

From the moment we were given notice John D Wood failed to give anything like a decent service - emails and calls were rarely responded to. Duplicate requests for information came from a range of staff, often no response to contact - you literally have to bombard them with emails / calls to get any communication and return of deposit after months of leaving the property and a significant period (nearly a month, not the 10 days legally required I believe?) since the landlord confirmed an agreed amount.One staff member I think had good intentions and was helpful on speaking to her but the process will wear you down. I think the corporate / company ethic and values must be rotten as they simply do not provide any tiny hint of service that you might expect from a professional outfit. On checking other review sites and this one, I realise we are not alone in our experience. I'm not sure if they read these reviews, but clearly systemic change needs to happen soon or word of mouth will surely stop any further business going their way??

Very biased towards the landlord

Very biased towards the landlord. Tenants please avoid if you want your deposit back as they would report issues at checkout that would be there at checkin. Last week I received an end of tenancy report which state issues which were present when my tenancy started. Since I've been taken advantage of many a times by rogue estate agents and I've learned my lesson so I made detailed recordings of the property at the start & end of the tenancy where I cover each and every inch of the property. I just emailed them one of the video and took screenshots from other videos that show that the issues were there beforehand. I did email Amy earlier that these were present at checkin but instead of checking the records she is going ahead to get repair quotes & ask for deductions from my deposit. I will leave as many negative reviews as I can! even register www. avoid-johndwood. com so innocent people can avoid getting ripped off.

Terrible experience, Not professionals!!

Terrible experience.They are unprofessional and unreliable.. Contacted agency and fixed a time view property in Headington, Oxford. I went and waited near the property and no one turned up. After 20-25 mins I called them again and they were saying let is already agreed on that property. They had no courtesy to inform me and the viewing schedule was not even in their dairy!! I would not recommend this agency.

I used John D Wood & Co for the sale of my mother's home after she died in February 2015.The service was very professional at all levels of the interface with the company and the office in Southfields, my main interface was Jonathan Loney who kept me fully informed and up todate on all matters relating to the sale and his advice was excellant throughout the process. Always qiuck to reply to any phone calls or messages.At the start of the process Jonathan understood my needs and requirements which were very helpful as I lived in Epsom ,very few visits were required to the office once I confirmed my choice of John D Wood. My Mother and I are extremely satisfied and delighted with the service we have received from John D Wood & Co., Southfields, during the sale of my Southfields flat. Sharon Byrne initially set up the deal with Jake Ramsden, and thereafter we had superb service with many contacts from Jake keeping us completely 'in the loop'. Nothing was too much trouble, and their efficiency and care was very impressive - as was their marketing strategy! I would certainly recommend the company to all and sundry, as having dealt with quite a few house sales/purchases over the years I have not had better or more pleasant service.

We had a good experience finding a home to rent with John D Wood. Their fees are higher than other estate agents that we had contact with. However, what made our experience was having Jessica as our port of call; she was extremely friendly and kind and really fought our corner to find us a place. Only having met her twice, she genuinely cared about our needs and requirements and we felt that she did have our best interests at heart. We are very grateful to her for acting on our behalf when it came to securing a place that she believed to suit us, which it did! Brilliantly!
