DO NOT GO WITH THEM. Poor communication from John D Wood. We wanted to purchase a property sold through them but their behaviour put us off. Holly from the Dulwich Branch was rude, unprofessional and not transparent in regards to process.

We had an amazing experience dealing with Kate Martin from the Primrose Hill branch. She really took her time with us and her knowledge of the Primrose Hill and NW London area is second to none. She would be our first call if looking for a property in this area.

GoogleHorrific experience with Victoria Richards, who was incredibly rude throughout our communications. We are unsure if she even presented our offer to the sellers as she kept saying "I'm not giving the flat to you, I'm giving it to someone else", which is at best -negligence and at worst - illegal. Fraudulent behaviour - avoid.

GoogleExcellent experience selling our house with Sophie and the team at John D Wood Battersea. Victoria's expert knowledge of the area really impressed us when we were first selecting agents. Once on the market they got a large number of people through the door in a short space of time which quickly led to offers. Extremely professional estate agents.

TrustpilotAVOID JDW AT ALL COSTS
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not subject yourself to the JDW Weybridge office if you can avoid it - they have provided easily the worst service we have ever experienced. We have been renting for 3 months in a JDW managed house. There are multiple material ongoing issues from a leaking roof to broken heating and the agent does not do anything about - for months. We have a 1 year old child who is suffering constant sickness now. They have lied to us about repair parts being ordered and have not held the landlord accountable for fixing anything. Jazz Dillon is of particular incompetence. She has promised us a call with senior management and of course, radio silence.

I’ve called multiple times regarding a property and was repeatedly told I’d receive a call back either by end of day or the next working day. This has never happened. I even tried submitting an enquiry through Rightmove, but nothing would go through. It’s honestly ridiculous, either don’t promise to call back, or live up to the expectations you’ve set yourself. The lack of basic communication is highly unprofessional and very disappointing.

From start to finish with seeking a rental property, Amanda and Anna were so helpful in guiding me through the process so everything ran smoothly up to when I moved in. Even the Landlord was present then to show me all about the appliances. I cannot commend John D Wood highly enough as regards letting properties to a tenant such as myself.

GoogleWe were delighted with the service provided by Fred and the team at JDW Battersea. They organised beautiful photos of our mother's flat and their reading of the market seemed spot on. Plus Fred's communications with all parties to the transaction came without delay and were polite and authoritative. Certainly our least stressful experience in the property market so far.

Absolutely abysmal property and tenant management experience. After an inventory check that showed that all furniture items were intact, JD Wood came back 5 months later to essentially accuse us of moving some of the furniture. Prior to this, while we were still in the flat, we had an issue with the fuse that cut power to the fridge and half the flat. We emailed, stressing that many items were at the risk of spoilage but received no support/response. The experience started alright but went severely downhill with time. Would not recommend.

I moved into the apartment only to find countless issues, no hot water, an unmentioned carpet moth infestation, broken doors, and more. On top of that, dealing with the property manager, Razvan Boerean, was a nightmare due to his passive-aggressive attitude whenever I requested repairs. Over the course of a year, the agency changed property managers three times, making communication and accountability even worse. When I moved out, they made absurd claims to unfairly deduct from my deposit. Some of these claims mysteriously disappeared when I asked for further evidence. The property manager even hinted that if I chose to raise a third-party dispute, they would inflate the charges, such as replacing the entire balcony door, yet this was never mentioned again in the dispute process. As an international student, I felt like an easy target for this agency to exploit, especially when it came to unfair deposit deductions. Thankfully, I didn’t fall for their intimidation tactics and went through the dispute resolution process. In the end, the agency was awarded only 1/8 of what they originally demanded. The entire experience, from moving in to moving out, was a nightmare. No matter how good the rent may seem, it’s simply not worth it. If you're an international student, be extra cautious, this agency will try to take advantage of you. I strongly advise against renting from them.

We have dealt with John D Wood in Wandsworth both to purchase a property and to sell one. Our experience has been positive, particular with Stewart Harrison, Head of Sales, who was extremely responsive, knowledgeable and on the ball. Stewart always took the time to speak to us, answer questions and give advice. Jimmy Gallagher was also fantastic.

We have had such a bad experience with John D Wood in Battersea. Their lettings team doesn’t respond to e-mails, paperwork is done incorrectly, keys for our house weren’t accounted for. The management of this office is equally as diabolical and I would steer clear of using them in any capacity.

Do NOT rent with John D Woods in London (specifically Notting Hill). For most of my tenancy I was left without an oven and a bathroom door. They have been extremely rude and aggressive on the phone & I never received any compensation or empathy for not having an oven to cook. Or a bathroom door in a studio flat... But most importantly - I left the property a year ago and STILL have not received my deposit back. They do not reply to email or provide answers on the phone - always saying they will investigate. Please please can someone get in touch to send me the deposit, I have nearly £2,000 stuck with John D Woods.

Great overall experience when renting a flat in Fulham through John D Wood.Eduard Popa was extremely helpful with my flat search. He was able to address all questions about the property I was inquiring about in a very professional and reliable manner.Finding a flat in February 2022 when most companies and universities are asking people to come back to London had become an impossible mission, taking most of my evenings and weekends.I walked into John D Wood at 10am on a Saturday, and by 2.30pm, my offer had been accepted and one week deposit paid to secure the property. Eduard removed the property from the website in front of me to avoid any future misunderstandings. The rest of the team were really helpful in the following days as we worked through the references process and the tenancy agreement.Eduard, Abigail and Lola, a team of superstars at John D Wood Fulham!I definitely recommend this team to anyone looking for a flat in Fulham.

GoogleBought our flat last year and Fred helped us move the transaction along very effectively. The pandemic caused plenty of delays, especially with the lender, but Fred was very helpful in keeping us and the sellers updated and explaining the process. Very pleasant experience overall.
