Company is a front for some very dodgy practices through it's association with Kirsty O'Connor, including embezzlement of local government funds and illegal evictions

Lazy and unprofessional, sales pitch is a lie
Our house was for sale for 4 months with Hunters Ashford in Kent, we only had 3 actual viewings, never sold it, and had drama after drama. Cancelled viewings constantly, once notified to me by EMAIL the afternoon before! We asked and were assured we'd be told when viewings were done so we could re enter the property straight away, not once was this done. Never did anything other than suggest lowering the price to help sell it - not redoing wording, changing photos or doing extra promotions etc. Problems with initial photos too. Lazy and unprofessional at best.

Great service from the moment I requested a valuation through to the completion of the sale, with extremely friendly and personal service. Would use again in a heartbeat if I was ever in a position too and would highly recommend.
Thanks ever so much for your comments Chris. Congratulations on the sale once again!

Refused due to having children, unlawful discrimination
Contacted this agency regarding a view of 3-bedroom house. The advertisement contained no restrictions regarding families with children.

Hunters - Tring - useless
Given that the purpose of an estate agent is to bring sellers and buyers together, as a potential buyer I found Hunters service abysmal

Fantastic local estate agents who were super helpful in our forest hill house search. They play a big part in the community, supporting perrymount primary school with prizes for their fete and even donations towards the school minibus.
Hi Jen. Nice to hear from someone who has experienced our service and recognises our support for Perrymount. Thank you very much for mentioning us.

I'm absolutely disgusted by the way the Yatton branch of Hunters have treated me and my family. 3 months I truly trusted the manager !! of them. she looked at my daughter saying I will make the dream for having this house comes true. 3 months lots of stress but we thought she knows what she's doing but all were just nothing. we were even selling our furniture getting ready for the new house. at the end we were being treated like rubbish for her. I never use them again.

Absolutely awful service from the Rugeley branch, had a viewing cancelled, my husband had to chase for next viewing only to be told the viewings were full and basically tough luck!! Then got a call to arrange a viewing, which we thought, ok let's go.... Only to show up and no one there.Rang the branch to be told they was viewing all morning so will call the lady who was doing the viewing. The nice young lady has to come back to us to tell us it was cancelled again and we should have received an email, which we never! The communication was truly awful, no follow up calls at all, absolutely dreadful Cust service...... Avoid!!!!!

Not interested in their customers
Two weeks into owning this house it's clear there are several long-standing issues and that it hasn't been maintained by Hunters who you'd hope would have done some checks in the 6 months I was waiting to be allowed to move in. As of this morning the locking mechanism in the front door has broken (something like the 6th time I've been in and out) and they tell me it's not their responsibility. Basically another lot of people when buying a house who want a big fee but actually do very little. Missing a day of work for this.

Hunters dartford had a property for sale I was very interested in, I sent an enquiry and when my husband called to try book a viewing he was met by a very rude individual who told him they aren’t accepting anymore viewings! I then received an email questionnaire that I replied to and sent back to then get another email to say they sent the wrong one and could I fill out another… which I did… I still haven’t heard and now the property is off the market by the looks, I have emailed twice to find out what’s going on to get no replies and have calls go straight to voicemail! Will never use this company! Awful customer service

Hunters has been doing its bit to support the local area and community. It has been supporting the fund raising events at Perrymount Primary School for several years and I hope for many more years to come.
Thanks so much for your comments Sarah. We also hope to continue supporting Perrymount in the years ahead.

Hunters Leigh, Do not use this estate agent. Blatant Liars
Mark Littlewood from Hunters Estate Agent what a salesman! Firstly, he will overprice your house, ours was overpriced by 75K in comparison to other estate agents, he will tell you he can sell your house and get the most for it. He will tell you he has a waitlist of people waiting for houses in your sought-after area, that he has a list of potential cash and Chinese buyers and that he will take drone shots of your home and have open days to get people through your door. He will tell you his sales fee like you’re getting a fabulous deal (but don’t tell anyone any other vendors you may be having in to value) its 1% by the way and the same as everyone else. He will tell you if you need to take your house off the market it’s not a problem. We questioned the overpriced valuation, but he seemed like a genuine since guy, driven to sell your home. How wrong we were. His office said he knew what he was talking about. So, we went with them, and the overpriced valuation, got no interest, so it was suggested we reduce it. First mistake. We agreed that Hunter could market our home but after not hearing from them days after the initial visit, it seems they lost our contact details. We never received any contract, so we chased that up, seems they had lost our email address too. The contract came with most costs blank and at the end of the cooling off period, so it was never signed as by this point, we were starting to regret using Hunters.Viewings seem to be done by yourself outside of office hours and even if it’s just outside the office hours. One viewing was requested for 9am, bearing in mind most people are at work, this seemed to be an issue for Hunters, even though they had at least 4 staff in their office when we went in, we were told they had no staff to attend eventually they reluctantly attended when they were told either attend or no viewing as we are working. Our first viewing openly admitted they had only come for a nosey as they were in the office putting their house up for sale when ours was being posted and came for a nosey to see what an overpriced 400k could by them. The only two other viewings were time wasters, wanted more rooms downstairs, done by us, as Hunters could not attend and clearly Hunters do not check that the houses offered and viewed fit their potential buyers’ criteria. It was questioned where the long list of people wanting our sort after area, cash buyers and Chinese buyers were, because after a few weeks from the property being listed there had been no sign. They are on holiday was the response, what all of them? All at the same time? After being approached by another home selling company, and after by this point being clearly fed lies from the start and seen nothing productive from Hunters, we decided to take our house off the market and try another. Regrettably they too fed us the same BS and their promise to sell our home in 4 weeks never materialised and the house remains unsold. There should be a code of conduct for these cowboy estate agents, clearly mis-selling people! When we approached Hunters and requested, we take off the market with them because we wanted to use another estate agent Mark Littlewood then became hostile and threw various threats at us. He then raised an invoice with charges more than his contract stated for taking the house off sale with them, and then lied stating we had sold our house when we questioned this afterwards. We had openly said we needed to pay what the estate agent was due for the work they had done, but it did not reflect their contract and as we were backed into a corner and had made commitments for another property abroad, we had no option to pay his overpriced invoice.Incidentally since then speaking to other people who had used Hunters, they had had the same issue, but fortunately had solicitors in the family who rejected their demands due to not listing the charges in full. Think long and hard before using Hunters, check their contract in your cooling off period, and don’t believe a word of Mark Littlewoods sales pitch, its just to get you sucked in. He offers you everything, delivers nothing.

Deserve 0 rating ! They called us for a viewing and we nearly travelled 4 hours and expressed interest in the property, as soon as we reached our home they mailed us the property is no more available! Pathetic service, least recommended!
Hello, thank you for commenting. This is a very unfair review and I’ll explain my reasoning. Whilst I appreciate its disappointing being notified a property marketed to rent is no longer available (especially in this highly competitive lettings market), we cannot choose when something becomes unavailable. If a tenant makes an offer which is subsequently accepted by the landlord, we contact all future booked viewings immediately to let them know. I am the owner of this branch of Hunters and I was present in the office when my colleague called all tenants who had a viewing booked on this flat to let them know the property was no longer available. I recall the conversation with you specifically because the 4 hour journey time was mentioned during the call. My colleague was both polite and apologetic regarding the property being secured by another party before you could view it. I appreciate it’s a hard market for tenants and we are very sympathetic to this fact as are many of our fellow letting agents, however blaming a letting agent because your journey would have been 4 hours is misplaced. We do not control how far away people are from our location and we can’t rent a property to more than one party. If we failed to inform you that the property was taken and allowed you to travel 4 hours knowingly, this would be a very good reason to leave us a poor review and make such comments. That is not the case in this instance. My colleague notified you within a matter of minutes of another tenants offer being accepted which is our normal procedure. Seeing misplaced comments like this is both upsetting and unfair. I hope you reconsider having read my reply. If you wish to speak with me directly (I would encourage a conversation) my name is Dave and I am contactable via the branch number 0203 0024089. If you choose not to contact me, I wish you the best of luck with your onward search. I also recommend calling agents / landlords ahead of all your viewings to ensure the property you are booked in to view is still available. Another organisation may not follow the same process as us of notifying all future booked viewings immediately when an offer is accepted. This could cause you to make a wasted 4 hour journey in future and a quick call will help you avoid this. I trust this helps. Many thanks.

Hunters know the local area really well and kindly supported Dalmain Primary School Christmas fundraising initiatives. When my advertising sign was wonky (and risky in the wind!) , they sent someone out straight away to fix it!
Thanks so much Alice! No one likes or wants a wonky sign! 😉 …
