TrustpilotDishonest and unprofessional
Dishonest and unprofessional estate agents, did not honour their written commitments to us. Routinely rude, very unpleasant to deal with. They treat customers like pests, and do not try to hide it. I do not understand how they stay in business.

TrustpilotWORST Agent
Worst experience I recently migrated to UK and wanted to locate a house in the city centre. senior agent showed me a house just opposite to the bus station and I accepted the offer but he didn’t revert to me even after 5 to 7 days. I gave them calls messages and called the agency customer care numbers many times but they didn’t have the courtesy to call me back and respond. I had to waste my one week in a hotel also not looking for some other property since they stopped showing other properties. Senior agents have a very bad attitude and they are not holding a responsibility towards the customers very bad agent please don’t opt for these agents if you’re looking for a house in a hassle free way

GoogleI hate writing bad reviews, so I almost decided not to do that.
However, Hunters keeps sending us promotional emails and every time it reminds us about the dreadful experience that my husband and I went through in September, when buying a property.
To sum up an absolutely exhausting story: we almost ended up homeless because of the incompetence of certain people at Hunters.
Short version:
The most stressful deal we ever made. Would be hard to imagine a more frustrating process on the day of completion. Terrible service from Sarah Varley throughout with no apology for it. Dave seemed like a nice, professional guy, but he wasn’t handling our case. So, unless you have no choice, go somewhere else.
Long version:
The process of purchase started in January 2020 and in September on the moving day by 16:30, with the van booked, stuff packed and our rent agreement ending, we still didn't know if we were going to get keys from our new property.
We ended up moving very late in the evening, overpaying moving van staff and absolutely stressed out.
The process was completely finalized from our side, with just redemption figure outstanding from the seller. Something that should have been taken care of in advance.
It took relentless chasing on already crazy day to sort everything out. And after waiting till the very last minute to complete, Hunters failed to advise that we would have to pick up the keys from their branch all across town. Considering the time of completion on Friday and the fact that we had the moving van in place, there was no way for us to make it on time. They would not send keys with a courier or bother to bring them to the flat.
They ended up giving the keys to one of their agents who was doing viewings in another area. So, my husband had to go and pick them up at the last moment. If we didn’t manage to pick them up, we’d be homeless for the whole weekend or would have to go through a few very unpleasant conversations with our landlord at the very least.
It is worth pointing out Sarah Varley specifically. She was late for viewings, regularly ignoring our queries and removing me from the email chains for some reason. She also acted quite dismissive when handling the whole situation on the day. Horrendous service from her throughout and no apologies for it at any point.
We only met Dave once and I strongly believe that things would have been different if he handled our case. He arrived on time and seemed very professional and helpful. Shame we got Sarah Varley instead. The gentleman who we picked up our keys from on the day was also quite nice and helpful.NegativeResponsiveness, Quality, Professionalism, Value

Thanks Madeline. So lovely to hear comments connected to Blythe Hill festival. We don’t promote our involvement with the festival much so it’s very nice to hear comments about it. Hopefully we can make the festival bigger and better next year. The 1st prize for the Dalmain raffle arrived today! Who will be the lucky winner of the Amazon fire tablet????

TrustpilotAn honest review from a purchasers…
An honest review from a purchasers prospective. They need to scrap their after sales care or come when something different. Nothing short of pestering the purchaser and purchasers solicitor to the point of causing stress and anxiety. Do they realise that they are paid by the seller and NOT the purchaser. They are an unnecessary step in the chain for us. Constantly making out that the purchasers solicitor hasn’t done this that and the other. Emails coming sometimes two to three times a week. Felt this was intentionally trying to make us look bad. Ended up having to tell them to back off. What is really frustrating is the fact that we have bent over backward for the seller to ensure the sale goes through to the extent we ended up going with a lower offer on our house as the previous buyer was taking too long to sort things out. In my opinion, the after sales process has left a bitter taste in the sellers mouth thinking we are stalling things when we aren’t.As far as we are concerned this process plus the actions of the seller is making us want to pull out of this sale. We have nothing to lose but perhaps Hunters may rethink how they also treat their buyers. This poor seller has previously lost a sale. She may want to ask herself was it really the survey or the pressure of the after sales team????Sales team were fantastic though you can see why. After all they want to make their commission fee.

TrustpilotAttempted viewing AWFUL SERVICE
Tried to arrange a viewing with the skipton office for a property that’s been on the market since November. (6 months) in Gargrave. Sent in an enquiry the night before detailing exactly what times and days I was available. A woman rang next day 4 hours after opening and asked if I was free on one of the days but no option of times, I had to ask her to clarify times 🙄. Having viewed a few properties during covid we have had different time allowances and this property needed tons of renovation (loads!) so I asked and she said 20 minutes. Then she said oh actually it’s 15. I then tried to discuss how we could have more or even 2 slots as we were coming from an hour away and she said right ok and cut us off!! Absolutely disgusting behaviour and extremely unprofessional. I’m sorry but I would never ever put my house up on the market with them let alone want to view with them again. We wanted to simply view but it gave me an impression of how a buyer is treated. Appalling service.

TrustpilotHorrible customer service
arranged viewing the property, the only time that the agent offered us was Good Friday at 12.00, we agreed and agent sent a confirmation of viewing. Yesterday we arrived at the place and waited 20 minutes, but the agent did not come, the phone number that is in the confirmation email says " we are out of office call us Monday " . We decided to knock to the property, and the seller of the house said that he decided not to sell house and remove listing from the sale yesterday. We are shocked, no one informed us that our viewing was canceled

TrustpilotBUYERS BEWARE
BUYERS BEWAREReally poor customer service and a complete lack of integrity from these estate agents. Before even going to view the property we asked about the situation with the probate which the agents didn’t know, which was surprising given the property had already been listed for two weeks! Following the viewing and confirmation that probate had been granted we made an offer which was accepted subject to proof of deposit and mortgage in principle. Within less than 24 hours Hunters then rung us to say they had accepted another offer after the other party upped their offer! They refused to accept that they had played us offer against each other, but then asked if we wanted to make another offer to counter that! Disgraceful unethical behaviour and I’d advise to steer well clear of these agents.

A promise to return to do a video tour of property, this never materialised, asked for stats regarding our property but none available, a promise of a catch up after a viewing but received no phone call , never kept up to date with anything e.g phone calls regarding offer on our house . Awful experience had to constantly chase them !

TrustpilotTerrible Service! DO NOT USE!
First time renting, we went to view the property told the agent we were interested.Three weeks on we've had no contact from them to ask if we are still interested or whether the landlord liked us after filling in an application form for them with details of our salaries and contact information! It took them 3 days to send the form and when we received it we believed it was the wrong one! Poor at answering the phone in the first place as well! Obviously only interested in actually selling houses not letting them. Absolutely appalling. good job we've found somewhere else to view or god knows how many times we've have to chase them up to find anything out.

TrustpilotCorrupt - selling a house before viewings.
Went to view a property today, told we were first ones to view property. Immediately called to make an offer and was told an offer was already in place from someone who hadn't viewed property yet. Estate agent who showed us around told us there were no bids. Clearly these people are inventing bids hoping you out bid these and they get a bigger % fee. Don't buy from these estate agents, clearly corrupt and dodgy. I noticed 18th Jan review on here showed exact same thing happened before. They wasted our time and anyone else who views it after us, and potentially lying to pump up price.

TrustpilotDreadful service resulting in a damaged property
We rented out our newly renovated house with Hunters in October 2020. We paid them a significant management fee up front. In November the tenants reported a minor issue. We are now in February 2021. The issue has escalated causing extensive damage to the property and they are still only at the point of having obtained 1 singular quote from their supposed network of trades. No remedial action has been taken. I have left voicemails and emails and received no responses as have the tenants. They literally only reply to you until you sign on the dotted line. We will not be using them for the tenancy renewal neither when we sell and I would recommend that nobody else uses them either.

TrustpilotIncompetent
It is such a pity that stars cannot be negative because if we could leave a minus three stars we would! Our experience was nothing short of dreadful, in fact it was calamitous! We were introduce to this shambles of a company by Hunters and we rue the day we agreed to use them. All information was supplied to them as requested in good time. Some information was lost and resubmitted. Our first conveyancer was incompetent to say the least, we are convinced that at one "telephone meeting" he was half asleep! He left the business but nobody told us! We only found out because our conveyancers name changed on the online portal that they use.The simply don't care and they are so reactive, it really a case of "oh, we forgot to do that, we better as the client."We sold a house to a buyer. No upward chain, no downward chain... One house, one buyer. How long do you think it took to sell?a) Six weeksb) 16 weeksc) Nearly six monthsYep, you guessed it, the answer was C. And it would probably have been longer if we hadn't made a nuisance of ourselves.Costs? Not too much less than a high street solicitor. We have learned our lesson, you get what you pay for! Stay away folks - if you value your sanity!

TrustpilotWhere do I start?
Where do I start?Poor communication, apparently the vendor was told on several occasions something different from my verbal or email, we actually had sold a property and were 'ready to go' but also had alternative accommodation for 6 months.... Within this pandemic with 2 of us working full-time it would have been useful to have fulfilled the promises made that they could let us know of if any further offer was made on the property....Absolutely astonished at the moment... I have no words!!!

TrustpilotI had to take them to court to get 8…
I had to take them to court to get 8 months of rent paid to me. They collected the money ftom the tenants and then refused to pay the rent to me making up a list of excuses none of which were valid. I had to ask the tenants to pay the rent directly to me and then then threatened my tenants. I won at court. But you always lose as you pay costs. Don’t go to them for lettings or sales as they are run and owned by the same corrupt person Sam Sharif.

TrustpilotAbysmal Letting Service
They have demonstrated on multiple occasions their absolute lack of care for my property or my business. Most months I have had to chase my invoices. When there is an issue they take weeks to resolve. They have never (to my knowledge) visited my property to check on its maintenance despite me paying for a fully managed service, and despite me raising concerns that the tenant was not adequately cleaning / caring for the property. Now the tenant has vacated, and the property has been left in a unclean state with personal effects left behind, utility and council tax bills not paid for their duration of their rental period. They are constantly advocating for the tenant - as with other reviewers - you have to wonder who is paying them for their service - because they clearly feel that the landlord paying for their 'managed service' is not their primary concern. They have also provided legally incorrect advice (on when the deposit needs to be released) - something basic like this is unforgiveable. My advice to anyone looking to find a letting agent is to avoid this company at all costs.By far my worst experience of letting agents.
