Awful company, will never rent with them again

- Zero assistance from their property managers. Took 3 months to repair a broken window in winter, despite chasing on a daily basis. They were only responsive when I found the landlady's email address on Google and emailed her directly...- It's taking over 2 months to get my money back for the deposit. I have rented 2 flats before, never had a similar experience- When me and my flatmate saw the flat agents were literally fighting among each other for who had to rent it - involving us customers in their personal fights... I.e. we were shown the flat by one agent but another one contacted us to have the rental proposal submitted via him. We thought there was nothing weird as he was from the same company, until their manager got back to us to ask 'who did what' among the agents... such a circus!Would recommend not to rent through them unless you really have to!

Worst agent in the world!

Worst agent in the world, no clear communication constant change within a couple of minutes was told 4 different times for a viewing to only be 2 mins away to find out the property has been already let, after just confirming I will be there in 5mins to the property being rent already. Never met any estate agent company, worse client service, poor regard for customers. Stay far away. Even if they offered to pay my first months rent look at the review previous to mine I would run away. Absolute scam and should be shut down

Just garbage.

They will rent you a flat with broken furnitures, broken lights and dog pees and poos on the balcony, they will also ignore your requests for fixing such issues, or they will say they will fix the issues but they never done. Worst experience, cannot believe this is how they treat their customers.

Please be aware that this company will waste your time . I had two flats I was looking at and I was happy to take either of them. But unfortunately lanlord wasn't happy with company let... that was quite surprising because I had all the references from previous Lanlords and really high income. Never mind that.... I paid my 550£ hold deposit and then this agent disappeared. We called to office and they were saying that they will call back etc. Never received any call from so called manager. After nearly three weeks I received my money back. Really nasty attitude and unprofessional agent.

Absolutley the worst experience I have had in 10 years of renting! Our hunt for a property with them was good I must say, Christian at the Rotherhithe Street branch was charming, helpful and helped us find a property within quite literally a few hours of searching! The problem was the property management itself, complaints were ignored. The property fell apart, everything was awful. I once sent a formal complaint address to the manager, it's been 18 months and I haven't received a response. They skinned us alive for our deposit, we didn't fight because we just wanted to be shot of them! We didn't care enough about the money to deal with their rude behaviour. DO NOT USE THEM! I'm so upset by the rude service we recieved, it has however pushed me hard to get saving to buy a house. SO kudos on that respect. Our new letting agents actually contacted them and then after one communication contacted me to say they didn't want to contact them again and would rather do things differently as they were so useless and overcharged for referencing services. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! PLEASE!!!

NEVER USE THIS ESTATE AGENCY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have never had a worse experience dealing with an estate agency than dealing with Hastings international in Rotherhithe. They choose the move in date, they have huge agency fees, they promise you a professional clean which never happens, they fail to repair damaged parts of the flat (until we finally get a maintenance man to come and fix it 3 emails and 5 months later), we clean the flat to a professional level but they do not agree and then charge £300 for someone to clean it! Stay well clear from this joke of an estate agency who are 100% focused on PROFIT and 0% focused on the consumer who has to somehow try to afford to live in London's extremely inflated housing market!

Overall good experience as tenant of one bed-room. maintenance issues were resolved in timely manner.The only thing we didn’t like, that they didn’t tell us when we were viewing the apartment that the landlord is planning to repair and paint the walls and replace flooring so we had some discomfort during these days. But overall no problems with this company.

Terrible! Not sure there is another world to describe my experience. the lack of professionalism are remarkable. They are impertinent, rude, and above all they lie to me and my wife. Only inefficiencies in the real estate market can explain how these people still have a job. I d not recommend end to my worst enemy and advise any landlord/ landlady to save money instead of throwing away giving to Hastings.

Unprofessional and useless

I arrange a house valuation with the Rotherhithe branch, I took a day off and was waiting all day but nobody turned up. I tried to contact them by phone, mobile phone and sms but without a success. Next day I got a "sorry" by sms from Tim and the excuse was an emergency hospital visit. I agreed for them to visit my house on other day, which they suggested. Nobody turned up again and i haven't heard from them (it's been 3 days). Definitely I will not use Hastings International to sell my house even if they offered me 0% commision.

Not acted in our (seller) interest and deal fell through

We uised the London Bridge branch of Hastings International to market our 2 bedroom flat in Borough. It was in perfect condition and was in a good location. The estate agent promised lots and delivered little, telling us he had viewers lined up when it certainly wasn't the case. Eventually we had one interest, which we accepted. He then promised that the deal with go through quickly, as it was chain-free, and led us to believe that we would be moving soon, and that we could put down deposit for a rental property that we were interested in etc. He oversold the quality of these buyers, who used cheap online solicitors who missed documents that we had sent through, and then turned around and suggested that we were hiding problems from the buyers. This delayed the process. Still the agents backed the buyers. The buyers then got dodgy surveyors in, who denied that they caused dangerous fire hazard when they went around our flat, tampering with our power sockets, as well as damage to our cupboards. No apologies from the buyers and certainly not the rude the surveyors, and the estate agent only apologised in a roundabout way. With all the stress, and the fact that we were ready to move, we gave them more money off the already agreed price just to move the sale along. Even then the buyers dragged the process on, not being in the country and not being contactable. In the end we decided to cut our losses and pull out because there was no indication that the sale would have gone through despite our insistence that we wanted to sign a rental contract and move. All the time the estate agent supported the buyers and not us, even though we were the ones who'd pay him in the end! Definitely not recommended.

Hastings Southwark are pretty good

Hastings Southwark are the lettings management company for our apartment. Their letting process is pretty good, including supporting digital signatures which really speeds the whole process up - no need to go in to the office all the time.For ongoing services, they have been great - any issues or repairs, they come back really quickly, event through the lockdown period. All in all, a pretty good letting experience with Hastings.

Very Unprofessional

Very Unprofessional, Rude. When I was set a move in date, they did not arrange for a cleaning to be done. They don't have any sort of communication with each other and calls me at work and bothers me.They are very unorganized and I hate working with them.
