I stayed in a short let in St. John's Wood through Foxtons during a temporary work assignment that brought me from the US to London. The “service” provided throughout the entire process was appalling and I would advise others to avoid Foxtons at all costs. Their worst offense was forcing me to vacate my contracted property 10 days early and providing no alternative accommodation or compensation to cover an equivalent property. Foxtons’ online search tool is useless as it is not kept up to date, so the majority of properties shown are not actually available. No one told me this until I was weeks into my search, wasting valuable time. Throughout my search and tenancy, Foxtons staff rarely answered my calls or emails (note that I was calling within their core business hours). When they did return my calls during my search, they typically did so at 3am my time despite knowing I was located in the US. When I moved into the property, I noticed major maintenance issues and immediately entered a request into their portal. The property was supposedly “managed” by Foxtons. These issues were never addressed during my tenancy, which was particularly shocking considering the astronomically high rent. A month into my tenancy, I was notified that I would need to vacate the property 10 days earlier than agreed due to a “miscommunication with the landlord” on the part of Foxtons. They were unable to provide alternative accommodation and did not provide any additional compensation to cover the higher nightly rates. Foxtons did refund the 10 days of rent, but considering the very late notice, this did not sufficiently cover the prevailing nightly accommodation rates by a wide margin. I was told this was “my problem,” even though this was Foxtons’ error by their own admission. The only reason why I used Foxtons vs. an alternative like Air Bnb was due to the security of having a tenancy contract, but this incident proved that Foxtons does not care about contracts or customer service and will take advantage of non-locals like myself. After I moved out, Foxtons continued to waste my time and money with their extremely delayed return of my deposit. I called and emailed them multiple times a week and received excuse after excuse, before finally receiving my deposit back nearly two months later. Looking at other reviews, my experiences are unfortunately common, demonstrating that Foxtons makes a regular habit of abysmal service. Foxtons has shockingly poor business practices, and once again I would urge others to avoid them at all costs as they will take your money and run.

I'm Sam Harraway's applicant and I have to say what an amazing job Sam has done. Samuel helped me to find a rental property in this very busy period of holidays during a strong rental growth across London. His listening ability is outstanding! He delivered everything I asked for, all aspects of my property requirements from the safe location I requested to the perfect finish of the apartment. He remembered the little details that I liked and disliked about rental properties. I would also like to bring out how hard working Sam is as on the day I called he was very busy and fully booked, but he found time to include me in his busy schedule. Samuel informed me regularly about new properties for rent that were appearing on the market. He was very patient, he could advise well and highlight the good advantages of the property, but still leave the decisions for me to make. He was always well prepared, presented a lot of information about the properties and the location. Always professional, focused on work, giving me full attention when showing me real estate and offering me time to make a decision, never using the phone in my company. I have dealt with a lot of agents when looking for a rental property, who often overrated the advantages of flats in order to attract an offer. Sam has never done this, which is very respectable. He presented a first-class service throughout the process and definitely saved me a couple of weeks (and a hotel stay in case I didn't find a place to live). Samuel's customer service was quick, efficient, responsive and thorough. Until the end of the process, Samuel provided me with detailed feedback, making sure all the rental related aspects were provided. We recently purchased an apartment through Foxtons and had the benefit of having the viewing and undertaking the transaction with Miriame and Gurjit. Both were fantastic, always on hand to help and guide us. Their communication was clear and honest throughout so we understood and felt very comfortable with all aspects of the transaction. Tim Haddi is meant to be the property manager for the apartment my wife and I are in, which we moved into on 7 December 2020. He has refused to reply to several emails from me. The apartment heating isn't working so I'm trying to contact him so he can arrange to get it fixed. The only email reply I got was an automatic reply, telling me to call the office. I have phoned the office several times, only to get no reply and leave a message. I suggest not using Foxtons at all. They just want you to sign rental agreement. I suggest landlords don't use Foxtons to manage your property because they don't do anything. They are getting commision for doing nothing. We were also told that the apartment would be professionally cleaned before we moved in. It wasn't and there were walls that were filthy and the bath had black mould around edges. Misleading and Unethical, Avoid Foxtons at All Costs I had an incredibly frustrating and disheartening experience with Foxtons while trying to purchase a property. From the very beginning, I was misled and given false information about critical aspects of the property. This lack of transparency continued right up to the point of exchange, leaving me feeling deceived and under immense pressure. Rather than being candid and straightforward, Can seemed more focused on closing the deal at any cost, disregarding the impact on me as a buyer. Their behavior left me feeling bullied and taken advantage of, and I ended up losing a significant amount of money and time. If you’re considering using Foxtons, be prepared for a lack of honesty and fairness. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you want an agency that values integrity and professionalism.

This has been my fourth time moving and a different agency I have used and Foxtons is by far the most professional and organised company. What usually is a very stressful situation (especially with the current COVID situation) was made super easy and pleasant.
