real lack of service/ communication

awful, I have been trying to speak to someone from the sales team for months. they say the same script every time I call "this is lettings, leave your details and sales will call you back". They never do. I actually want to purchase a property, why wont they talk to me? I can see the property just sitting there and every time I ask if it's still available they say it is. But I never get further than that with them.

Lots of issues when moving in, helpful getting these sorted

I recently moved into a property let by and managed by Dexters. One of the reasons I chose Dexters was because I thought I would be less likely to have issues with it being a larger company. However when I moved in there were a wide range of issues including mould, furniture that was supposed to be removed, broken appliances and blocked drains. Basic checks before I moved in would have identified these issues.

She showed us a wonderful apartment in Aldgate East, answered all our questions, and gave us a tour of the building's facilities. I’ve had Dexters City Estate Agents managing my property in Central London for nearly three years now, and I genuinely cannot rate the team highly enough. From the very beginning they have been extremely professional, responsive, and proactive. Communication has always been excellent, and I’ve consistently felt well supported as a landlord. More recently, the team has been in regular contact regarding the upcoming Renters’ Rights Bill, keeping me informed about the potential changes and what they might mean in practice. I’m especially grateful to Nick O’Neill, who took the time this week to talk me through the new reforms in a clear and easy-to-understand way. He patiently explained the legislation and its implications, which completely put my mind at ease. That level of care and attention is a great example of how supportive and knowledgeable I find Dexters to be. Daniel's customer service is great

Before Daniel F joined the team I struggled a bit with Dexters (hence the 3 stars). Often things would not be done, people wouldn't log when there had been a visit to my flat so more would be booked in and there were lack of updates at times which felt frustrating. However after dealing with Daniel F it feels like things are changing for the better and if I had always dealt with Daniel I would prob give Dexters a 5 star rating. Great customer service, always keeps me informed and gets things moving which I really appreciate!

as our flat management agency, Dexters has looked after us really well, we have had a big issue with rodents in the house, and in the area, they have been tackled it fast and eficiently, we had to trust on them beacuse we were on holiday and when we came back all was done, or in the good path to be sorted, expecial thanks to Grace who was our advisor and keep up the good work. really really thankfull, big peace of mind after all. we were really worried to see what could we find in our return but i know now i can rely on Dexters and they will do the neccesary things to solve the problems.

Acted illegally

Did not follow process and illegally cut off our services and sent a checkout clerk to our home while we’re still living there. They gave him a key and advised him to enter the property despite us repeatedly and clearly communicating when our leave date was. We had to report them to the local council and open an investigation. They had our council tax and water cut off and then accused us of not paying our bills despite repeatedly trying to rectify their mistake. Cutting utilities is treated as harassment and unlawful eviction under the Protection from Eviction Act 1977. Under this act, it is a criminal offence for a landlord or agent to interrupt or cut off electricity, water, or gas to make a tenant leave. Specific estate agent that caused us these issues is Fahima Miah, Senior Property Manager.

Managing a poor performing agent to the freeholder

We want to do a particular shout out for Edward Brodkin who helped us through poor service from the freeholder of our flat. The failure by the freeholders agent to repair damage to the roof and guttering led to damage inside the flat and we raised a legal case for damages against the freeholder and their agent. Edward helped us through, managing the relationship with the agent, providing us supporting documents for the legal case and generally offering the support we needed. The settlement was made out of court in December 2025 and we recovered the cost of the damage. Execellent Service and well done Edward.

I live in the UAE and Dexters arranged the handover and put the unit for rent and managed all the rental agreements and even arranged for furnishing the unit. Monika at Dexter's -a great property manager!

My property manager is Monika Piszczyk at Dexter's and she has been Ace! As a landlord , I had a number of issues in my flat that I rent out, Monika addressed each of these in turn . She kept me informed at each stage of the costs + time and was always very patient with all my questions. If you let a property you would want her to be managing it! she resolved every concern and the tenants are super happy! Thank you Monika!
