We have been with Dextors for a few years since they took over Douglas Martin's and to be honest, initially it was very difficult as there didn't appear to be clear lines of communication, with various names being involved.However more recently, Monika has been front and centre for all of our enquiries, complaints and coounication in general and things have improved greatly.I look forward to hopefully giving 5 stars this time next year.

First tenancy experience

First of all I have no previous experience to compare with but I as per my opinion Dexters really tries to provide good service. There are minuses and pluses, but in general I have a good opinion about this company.I was checking in my apartment but it was not clean at all. Dexters could manage cleaning service of the carpets on the 24 of Dec right before Christmas.But after check in I have been receiving a good assistance from Property Management as well as Maintenance teams.Many thanks to Jada Palmer for her willingness to help, address the issues and quick communication with the owner of apartment.

Dexter's have patience, perseverance, andPanache. I found interacting with them very easy and they were clear and helpful all the time. Tyanna is fantastic! It all comes down to the individual…

It all comes down to the individual agent you have as your contact, and I count myself very lucky to have Fahima as my contact. I have been with Dexters for many years and have had good experience over the years, but I find that Fahima is outstanding. My wife and I met her at the apartment and found her charming. She has also dealt very proficiently with a contractor who did a very poor job and who were uncooperative in returning to remedy the problem (and who in my opinion Dexters should never use). Eventually I gave up with them, and Fahima found a very satisfactory alternative who was new to Dexters. In my opinion she is a great advertisement for Dexters.

Rachelle was really helpful and responsive! We got our rental flat secured with her help. Edit: apparently after 1.5 years Rachelle no longer works for them. She was not very helpful when communicating with us. I left the original 5-star review since she asked and I was being nice. Not sure what’s the standard of Dexter as an agency when hiring and training agents. Fahima and Nick has been very helpful handling our inquiries.

The sales dept who let my property were professional, knowledgeable about the local market, and direct without being aggressive. That was the good part I've been frustrated by the ongoing management: Costs are inflated by hidden fees (e.g. gas safety cert is double the price I normally pay, and when I queried, I was told their contract allows for fees to be included, despite the hefty monthly commission they earn). They seem to have missed some of the licencing requirements and so I'm having to deal with works to the property while overseas, that would would have been very easy to implement before I left It was very frustrating when there was a leak at the property and I couldn't find out why it was taking so long to repair (2 months in total, during which time the tenants could not use the bathroom). After several requests, over a few weeks, I was finally able to speak to the builder and we resolved the issues instantly (he was awaiting authorisation to proceed, that I hadn't been informed about, and he was struggling to locate the source of the leak and I was able to explain the pipework layout within the walls and where to find replacement tiles)

I worked with Jude Hill and Bailey Strutton as my two main contacts at Dexters and I cannot speak highly enough about the two of them. As someone who was moving from the United States, I was obviously very overwhelmed with finding a flat. There were a multitude of issues with the flat, none of which were the fault of Jude or Bailey. They both worked seamlessly to help alleviate the issues with the property in as timely a manner as possible. They both helped communicate updates and gave firm timelines. My move to London was substantially smoother with the help of Jude, Bailey and Dexters!

Renting and support after moving in

We have rented from Dexters. Our property viewing experience was good as Jack Beacom arranged for us to view the property twice before deciding. However, we felt a bit pressured when we learned many others were bidding for the rental and it felt like a now or never decision. After moving in we raised multiple repair issues which Talia White promptly dealt with. Talia is responsive and considerate as a property manager. Overall, we are happy with the support after moving in.

Dexters headed far and wide to help me with my new property search. Each member of staff I interacted with was friendly and fast in helping me find my home here in London. Daniel Scott was professional, productive, active, and nice. Searching for a place in London may be stressful, but Daniel quickly set out to understand my needs and assisted me in exploring fantastic alternatives to the property that I had originally viewed. I would strongly recommend working with him because he demonstrates excellent dedication and an understanding of the real estate market. He expertly managed the landlord's relationship and assisted me in pushing for what I required and finalising the rental property, and he was easy to reach and work with. I lived in a Dexters new build (Ambrose House) for about 18 months from 2022-2023. Although there were some promised amenities that weren't delivered (gym, Tesco express, etc), a lower score wouldn't reflect the service we received from two attentive members of the team who went above and beyond.I was particularly impressed by Petros when he came on board. I found him personable, responsive and helpful. He and Suzy, another fabulous associate, are great members of the Dexters team and every interaction with them was pleasant. Suzy provided clear and consistent phone and email support and advice during our moving out period and Petros was proactive in ensuring we received our deposit once the necessary checks were done on our apartment.
