I have used Cluttons Islington to both manage a rental property and help in the sale of the property. Chris, James, Hamish and the whole team have been incredibly helpful over many years of work together. They provide a personal service and invest extra effort to help resolve any issues. GoogleWe used Cluttons Tower Bridge to sell a flat in Shad Thames. From the outset they did a great job, both in being sensible and proactive in marketing the property and also during the sales process itself. Alex Chaplain especially, and with George Barker, went beyond what estate agents typically do. They persevered and throughout a relatively long drawn out and frustrating process Alex managed to keep things moving and act as a meaningful and useful link between us, as the sellers, the solicitors involved and the purchasers. It made a big difference to the sale eventually going through. It was also a stark contrast to our dealings with some other agents in the area who claim to be different and better but really aren’t.

GoogleHad been looking for an apartment in Shad Thames area for ages and found the property market in that area quite unique and extremely confusing. However, I found Alex Chapalain at Cluttons extremely professional and knowledgeable. He was quick to alert us to new and potential listings and provided detailed knowledge of all properties, vendors, managing agents etc. His guidance was invaluable. Even though we have bought and sold a number of properties, I think Alex and Cluttons are right at the top.

GoogleWe have used Cluttons Tower Bridge to manage our rental for years and their service has been more than exceptional. Then we decided to sell and used their agency team. We were delighted with their work, finding a buyer and seeing the sale through to closing. Inevitably there were issues but Cluttons were attentive proactive and transparent throughout helping resolve any issues speedily and with consideration and consummate professionalism. We would recommend them to anyone who wants a personal service to ensure minimum hassle and worry.

Entirely avoidable management service from Cluttons. Very slow to respond and not proactive in dealing with issues. Repairs through Cluttons’ network is extremely expensive. They don’t have tenants’ or landlords’ interest in mind - never once have I proactively received proper explanations for high costs or alternative quotes (unless I asked). Massive conflict of interest as Cluttons receives commissions from the contractors for works done - they are incentivised to over-charge. Of all the big agencies, Cluttons falls the most short in service.Quick follow-up:- the kickback for Cluttons on repairs is 12.5% (reiterating the conflict of interest). Took over a week for them to get back to me- I have written in to the head office, and while they have acknowledged the feedback, they have not responded to any of the points I have raised.

We moved into our rented property just over a week ago. Unfortunately, there were some initial teething issues, but Cluttons responded quickly to our concerns and resolved the issues. Upon arrival, the boiler was out of service, leaving us without heating for a couple of days. We reported these issues to the agency via email, and in less than 24 hours, we were contacted by a contractor to arrange an inspection/repair. The contractors brought portable radiators to tide us over, and Cluttons has also offered a rental reduction to compensate.Before moving in, the agency maintained good communication with us and responded promptly to our queries. Overall, we are happy with our experience (much better than other agencies)!

When we moved in to the property, none of the promised cleaning and repairs had been done. Our dish washer remained broken from the day of our viewing until the day we moved out a year later. In fact they fixed it 3 days before our contract ended by which point we had vacated the property. And now they are showing the same level of unprofessionalism with our deposit. We moved out 50 days ago and had a formal inventory check in and check out organised by Cluttons. We paid for a professional cleaning company to clean the place (even though it was already cleaner than the day we moved in). We even had them come back and rectify any items the inventory clerk raised. After numerous unanswered phone calls and emails we have finally been told that our deposit will be returned to us in full. This was 7 days ago. We have repeatedly asked them to give us an indication of the date we are likely to receive it and have been ignored. We are still waiting... Our overall experience has been dreadful. Renting in London has never been easy and they have only made it harder.
