GoogleScammy company! Everyone advised me not to go for them because it seemed fishy but they were the only landlord available short notice. I had the world’s smallest room for £850 a month and horrible dirty old furniture, broken blinds, a cleaner who did an awful job and mould growing into the drawers. The cleaner also stole my brand new cleaning products. I didn’t want to cause issues so I didn’t complain once but I regret it all because upon moving out I was slapped with a random £150 fee for giving in my key 2 days late! They didn’t state Id be fined for this and even said in the email that I could go to the office to give the key which I did, and they refused to retract their charge, using Reposit which always takes the landlords side as it costs £60 for a dispute. So scummy of them and they used pictures of dirt in the room as proof for the charge? I cleaned it very thoroughly and why are you charging me because your mentally challenged cleaner can’t do it? A £100 fine for a spot of dirt and a late key is RIDICULOUS. They purposely pray on young people and people moving to UK, it’s obvious as all their tenants are always naive 18-20 year olds or just moved to London. AVOID!!

My agent Fabio was really helpful with every aspect of getting my room. He was flexible when arranging visits and listened to anything I had to say about the area and amenities. Being able to access everything online whenever I wanted was very useful. Very happy

GoogleMy daughter and I rented a room from city rooms for her placement year in Stratford! Having seen the room on spareroom and not being able to go and see it in person, we trusted them and they sent us a video of the requested room! Once the room was moved in, not only was it not the one advertised but it practically found itself in a closet and afterwards it couldn't even put in a closet. To our complaints with photos of the dirt found attached, they assured us that we could also change with their other proposals! Found another room on spareroom to see now they reply that it is no longer available because it sold over the weekend!!! Be careful ⚠️ they are scammers because they advertise what does not correspond to reality. I reserve the right to change my review only if they resolve the problem

GoogleI used their services to rent a room in East London and it was hell. This was a few years ago but it was such a bad experience that I have to make it known. The house had rats and they were never able to get rid of them. I was told that there were two double beds in the room when there was only a single and a double bed. They rent without showing and that's why they cheat on people. The boss was a Mexican at the time and did nothing. In the end I had to pay to leave but it was the best I could do. I know people who didn't pay the last few months so that they could use the deposit, because they never give it back, and they also destroyed the rooms. Honestly that's what they deserve. You are bad people.

GoogleI moved into this new flat via city rooms early last month. Tommy the agent has been incredibly warm, friendly and accommodating; even checking up how I’m fairing on with the place which I found really helpful and impressive. Asides from this, my experience with city rooms has been absolutely terrible. When I came across the reviews on this page after I’d started working with cityrooms I thought that some of the reviews were quite dramatic, however I can confirm they are not and this lousiness, unprofessionalism, and incompetence is a theme for city rooms and I definitely recommend not working with them at all. From the admin team with their unnecessarily long paperwork that took ages to deal with as they kept coming up with new and random requirements to the property manager Maristella that has taken over a month to resolve the issue with my shower leaking due to improper finishes which I first logged in early August when I first moved in. Maristella not only doesn’t even take time to give adequate notice if any works need to be carried out through the property but seem to always catch me and my flatmates by surprise and claims she did not know we were meant to have access to the amenities downstairs despite being the property manager. Furthermore, city rooms breached their agreement with the development that I live in by partitioning a 3 bedroom into a 4 bedroom to due to their greed and offered all of us individual tenancies instead of a joint tenancy, a breach unknown to us at the time and before the agreement was signed, which has led to dire consequences for my flatmates and I as we’ve been denied access to the rest of the amenities in this property such as the lounge, cinema room, meeting rooms downstairs hence we have only our rooms as we do not even have a living room due to their partitioning of the place and violation with the HMO. Some would even beg the question whether city rooms, if at all, tried to read their agreement with the property at all considering this is something so fundamental. And as a result, my flatmates and I have become the collateral damage. The property offered them a way to give us access to the amenities by an agreement surrender however city rooms has told us on their side they can’t do anything about it and can only offer a measely £30 of compensation for their negligent misrepresentation of the agreement. It is clear that for city rooms customer satisfaction ranks less than profit and greed as a priority; it was made known to me recently that a 3 bedroom apartment in this property is around £3000 yet they charge me and my flatmates between £1100 to 1373. As though this wasn’t enough they breached their agreement to add in an extra room for even more profit. Furthermore there’s a refund for the fobs that was meant to be issued to us and deducted from our rent that still hasn’t been done so by the rent team and remains pending over a month after moving in ( the refund being owed again due to lack of proper planning and preparation on the side of city rooms; my flatmates didn’t even even have fobs for the first two weeks and had to be let in by the concierge and so did I for the first two days; even getting stuck in the basement due to low phone signal and no fob).Even the monthly cleaning that was promised in the agreement has not been carried out. It seems to me that incompetence is an unwritten norm at city rooms. I sincerely urge you not to work with them. Unfortunately, it is always issue after issue after issue with them. I also advise Tommy to consider working with a different agency so that city rooms doesn’t taint his accolades. It has taken me over a month to write this review as I wanted to give city rooms a chance to redeem itself, however many chances later, city rooms is has continued to be an unnerving experience.

TrustpilotThe Most Manipulative, Thieving Company You'll Ever Deal With!
Not just the worst estate agency I've had the misfortune of dealing with, they are the worst company I've ever dealt with. Jorge is the Del Boy, wheeler dealer type, happy to screw you over if it means more money. City Rooms is a greed-centric company, and they constantly lie, manipulate, coerce and steal to put more gold in the coffers. They will ensure you that bills are included - through their ads and through their staff (Marc was who we dealt with) - but this is a lie. Repairs move along at a snail's pace. And when you leave they will shake a magic 8 ball and inform you of a whole slew of fees you have incurred. These bills will be entirely different from your housemates' - randomness is the nature of the magic 8 ball. They really don't care about you, the tenants, they only care about their bottom line - that is apparent as soon as you sign the contract. Learn from my poor experience - and from the sea of poor experiences before me - and avoid this awful, awful company.

TrustpilotDO NOT TRUST NOR GO ANYWHERE NEAR CITYROOMS!!!!
By far one of the worst letting service companies I have ever worked with. I was a tenant at one of their properties for more than a year. During this time we were without water and heating on a regular basis. My flatmates and myself regularly contacted cityrooms ordering them to fix the issues we had in the house. They took ages to reply, handled our concerns with a lack of interest and when someone finally came over to fix said issues, they were done poorly and unprofessionally. These issues continued to plaque the house for more than a year. They included: No cold water for a total of 2 months during the winter period, heating constantly broken and never properly fixed, water damage in the house, unstable floors, broken windows, pest problems, broken wifi for multiple days etc (just to name a few). Cityrooms is a scam and a joke! Unfriendly and extremely unprofessional. All the care about is money while neglecting basic living conditions for its tenants! DO NOT TRUST THEM NOR GO ANYWHERE NEAR THEM! If i could give them 0 stars i would.

TrustpilotTried to make me pay without seeing the room
I travelled all the way down from Manchester to London to view a room I saw they had advertised on Spareroom. I asked him to meet me in central to show me the room. It was on Baker Street and my train came into Euston. Makes sense, right? He refused my offer and told me to meet him at his office in Stratford. This didn't make sense to me seeing as I only wanted to view properties in Central. I was only told when I met him at his office that the room I had seen had gone but they had all these other ones. I liked another room & asked to see it and he told me I couldn't until I put a deposit down. I have never heard of paying for something without seeing it. His excuses were things like: Baker Street is so far from here. By the time we get there, it'll have gone..blah blah blah. If he had agreed to my initial plan and met me in Central, we wouldn't of had that problem. Also, he was adamant I put a deposit down before even viewing it. What's that all about?

TrustpilotCity rooms nightmare
AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! RUN AWAY FROM THEM! When I was introduced to the flat by one of the agency`s representative I was told that all the bills where going to be included. When I signed the contract I found out that the agency covered only £ 30.00 for electricity and gas bills. I was also told that the house was going to be cleaned once a week from a professional cleaning company but in over one year that I stayed in the house I only received this service 3 times. When I had repairs to be made inside the flat I had to wait at least 10 days before someone came to fix it. £15.00 IF YOU NEED A TENANCY REFERENCE (sent by email :-)) by the way )how ridiculous can it be? Don't be fooled about those £100.00 discount that they give you if you leave a good feedback in two weeks time on they're website not worth it! They are rude and with a very very very poor customer service. OOH by the way... forget about having your deposit back intact and in two weeks time. Mine was issued after almost 5 weeks!

TrustpilotWORST AGENCY EVER
This agency has no respect for its tenants and will try and rinse you for every penny possible.Reading all of the other negative review I really to feel for anyone else who has had a similar experience to myself.I was a tenant for them for over 3 years and seemed to be the only person who cleaned up and looked after the flat for that time. When I first moved in the flat was disgusting. The Bathroom was covered in mould and the kitchen was covered with rubbish and the fridge full of mouldy food, which I just cleaned up myself in the end. I spoke to the owner of the property who also said that city rooms converted the lounge into two more (very poorly made) bedrooms without his permission. Anything to up their profit.I also found that they never have any intention of giving back the deposit and will make up so many excuses to not refund it. I gave the agency over a months’ notice when I was leaving and asked if they would waive one of the fees as we had issues for months with the boiler (multiple weekends with no hot water) and they also did nothing when there was an abusive flat mate who was physically and verbally abusing me on a daily basis. They don’t care about your safety.Jorge stretched out the whole process so I finally accepted the charges but because I complained about him, he said he wouldn't accept my notice and I now had to pay 4k in fees and rent and was going to take me to court. I have left the country so he can't do anything to me but also said that he is happy in the fact that I won't be able to get a mortgage in the UK as he will ruin my credit rating. What a petty man. He also keeps accusing my boyfriend of living there without any proof apart from what the abusive flat mate said.
