Avoid using this company by all means - We lived in a property managed by Chesterton's for a year. In the time we lived with them, we reported issues with the accommodation in the first week of moving into the accommodation, they didn't sort this in the 9 months of us living there. They constantly sent someone out to 'price it up', but never once did someone come to fix anything. Things like not providing keys for the windows to open, bath panels and shower's hanging off the wall. We had 4 different property managers in this time as people kept leaving the company. The guy who came round to look at the property to price up the issues mentioned that the accommodation was that poorly put together that he couldn't believe it. After 9 months of getting tired of nothing being fixed, we decided we had to get out. Once we left, we were assured that we would not receive any cleaning charges if we used their registered cleaners. When handing over the keys, Andrew mentioned that the flat was cleaner than it was before we moved in. After using their cleaners, they still tried to take £160 for a cleaning charge. The individual who has been working on getting our deposit back has been everything but competent, we had to wait 2 months for our deposit to come back. It's gotten that bad that even the property owner has mentioned to us that she will never use Chesterton's again. I would love to leave a 0 star but for some reason that isn't possible. Considering we had nothing fixed in the time that we lived in the accommodation, we thought we'd be able to leave the flat. Instead we had to pay over £600 to leave early. I would avoid using this company at all costs, not only will you have nothing fixed, but you will also struggle to get most of your deposit back.

First time renting in London out of university, and honestly could not have gotten through the process without the non-stop support of our agent, Tamara Price at Chestertons South West Lettings. The four of us in the house-share encountered all sorts of unexpected impediments, as life has a way of throwing your way, up to and including literally days before the rental period began. She worked tirelessly for us at all hours to negotiate on our behalf, get documents through, and make sure we were sending through everything we needed. Extremely responsive and flexible and determined to make it work for renters and landlords alike, her professionalism and hard-work shone through and guided even the most clueless to the other side. So grateful for everything Tamara did to help us into our new home - would definitely recommend choosing her if you have the option!

Absolutely terrible service for property management, both from the landlord's perspective and the tenant's perspective. The communication is woeful, complaints are not escalated or dealt with properly, and they do not look after the interests of either the landlord or the tenant. I would never use Chesterton's again for property management and would advise anyone to steer clear of them. You have to chase for a response to every email, you get passed from pillar to post, there seems to be a total lack of ownership by their staff, meaning everything takes weeks and weeks to be half sorted - most of the time you end up sorting it out yourself, which leaves you wondering what you're paying for. N.B. My issue is with the property management - the letting process was good. I think I even gave them a 5 star review somewhere but the shine has well and truly worn off.

We recently sold our house with the help of Oscar. It was not an easy process due to the house having sat on the market previously, then we got our first offer and then another one with Chestertons. The buyer we went with turned out to be very difficult and eventually pulled out (not without a great fight from Oscar and even the senior central team who stepped in). In all honesty, Chestertons was not the cheapest offer of representation we got, however, a lot of extra time and effort was put in by Oscar throughout - then he pull off a second buyer quite quickly! He was always readily available, responsive, proactive, and invested in our personal situation which we really appreciated. We would highly recommend him.
