Evil company

Evil company. Nothing is good about them. When we moved in refrigerator broke down we let them know they didn't even answer. We had to buy new one. End of our contract they asked can you sell the refrigerator for a reasonable price we said ok, they never paid. End of our contract they raised %40 rent. We had to move out.They never came for inventory check and It took 5 months to get our deposit back. They never contacted us. Not even once. At least 20 times I contacted them but they just ignored. Which is deposit must be paid in ten days. 5 months without any single information. Everything I wrote here I can prove. I have kept every single message and email.

Really not happy with the service…

Really not happy with the service received from Trisha and her team in the Dorking branch. They made the experience of selling our home an unpleasant,stressful and ultimately unsuccessful. We were guilt tripped, bullied and told that we had wasted time and effort not agreeing to move with a weeks notice.The service promised at the first hard sell meeting never materialised and we were passed down to junior members of staff who didn’t have the experience needed to help us

I was struggling to find the right property straight away due to time constraints and Jakub at BM bent over backwards to get me a viewing on a popular property the same day despite being busy. He drove me to the office so I could complete the paperwork immediately and everything was sorted the next day when I met the landlord. A pleasure to deal with.

Review of the Southfields branch. 10/10 to Chris and his team. During a stressful transaction (stress caused entirely by the lawyers), Chris and his team always called me back, I felt confident that they were doing everything they could to get the purchase through by my deadline. It’s obvious that the Southfields office is a very cohesive team, who go over and above for both vendors and buyers. Having bought through them three times in two years, I know that I would not hesitate to buy or sell through them in the future.

I bought a flat, that they were selling. So I wan't directly their client. But If i look at how proactive they were, chasing me for viewings, asking for updates and also helping me chasing my conveyor etc. I think they are a solid partner to trust in assisting you with selling property. I found that they are reachable by phone and providing prompt replies via email. Even if your contact wasn't available passing on messages and getting back to me was never too much to ask. Special thanks to Simon, Mark and Shashi! I will come to you when selling my place in a couple of years, or when im ready to buy something new!

Mitcham's Barnard Marcus - Excellent!!! 5 stars

I was with the agency in Mitcham and cannot speak highly enough. Vezir was my point of call and he went way beyond to make sure my sale was as smooth as possible and was not delayed in anyway. Vezir definitely supported me throughout this process and made me feel that I always had someone in my corner. It did not feel at all that it was about their fees but definitely more of a human touch when getting the sale completed successfully. Eli supported me too towards the end and both kept in contact with both the buyer's solicitor and my own. I would definitely, no questions asked, use them again.A brilliant team to work with and and who will make sure the sale gets done.

If there is someone you truly hate from…

If there is someone you truly hate from the bottom of your heart, recommend Barnard Marcus. And Ashleigh Fisher as the agent in charge of their case. The following happened during a 1-year lease (Sep-20 to Aug-21):1) No space heating and hot water for a month in peak winter. I've lived in London since Sep-2014, and heating issues have ordinarily been resolved quite quickly, usually within 24 hours as a matter of urgency. 2) There was unbearable drilling noise from 8 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday. As we work/study from home, we faced extreme difficulties talking calls, participating in virtual meetings, and had severe headaches. Furthermore, the construction told us that this will at least go on till March 2021, i.e. more than half our tenancy. We were not informed of the construction when we were shown the apartment, which would have led us to select a different apartment. 3) Fire alarms: The electrical chimney wasn't working in the kitchen, and the fire alarm kept going off when we cooked food. This was a health and safety hazard as there was no ventilation. 4) Bathroom door: The door of the bathroom was stuck and simply did not close. This issue happened after the heating stopped. Barnard Marcus took 6 months to get the door fixed. 6 months!!5) Work and study: My work suffered as I was unable to take client calls due to the noise. My flatmates' education also suffered as they were unable to participate in Zoom classes online. Barnard Marcus couldn't care less.

Awful experience, bunch of incompetents!

Our experience with the Muswell Hill branch of Barnard Marcus has been nothing short of frustrating. We were entirely let down by their unprofessionalism and incompetence, which contributed to the months-long delay of our purchase of a flat in Muswell Hill. Our offer had been accepted in December 2021, but months of chasing led to little progress. Eventually, with no realistic date in sight to exchange contracts, and an absence of even a minimum level of f-giving by the agency, we decided to pull out of the sale.Special mention goes to Raphael our agent, who reminded us time and again how hard he was working for us, even burning his long weekends for our great cause. So much so that he would neglect to give us any updates or ignore our emails for days, breaking the deep silence of his labour only when we chased him for the tenth time.We would also like to applaud Akill, the broker affiliated with Barnard Marcus, who “forgot” (he says) to submit our mortgage after the AIP, causing it to expire. This even though we had given him all the requested paperwork months ahead, and resubmitted them each time he asked us for them again. Eventually, he emailed saying matter-of-factly that the mortgage had lapsed, and sneakily wanted us to sign a different agreement with a higher interest rate, without first explaining the new deal. This included trying to mislead us that certain optional fees were mandatory. All this is incompetence at best, and deliberate fraud at worst.Finally when we informed them through our solicitor that we were withdrawing our bid, we did not receive even the basic courtesy of a reply. No love lost for us, by this time we really didn’t expect anything from them, but our sympathies go to the seller who we understood had signed the contract as early as Dec/Jan.It might well be that our experience with the entire team at Barnard Marcus Muswell Hill was rare, but we were deeply frustrated and disappointed by their inability to manage expectations and to take any ownership of the issues that arose due to their lack of professionalism. I would advise anyone to be very wary if Raphael or Akill were involved in your sale.

I Just wanted to say that we are so grateful for Steven Bakare at Barnard Marcus Thornton Heath! He literally helped me so much. If he hadn’t helped me we wouldn’t be in our perfectHome! We were in a hurry to buy a new house for our two daughters (both toddlers!) Steven found us the perfect house and got us an excellent deal. I was very interested in a property in Mitcham, Surrey

I was very interested in a property promoted by BM's Mitcham office. I told the agent I had £500k in cash and arranged a second viewing (I was prepared to offer up to £485). The agent told me (I'm paraphrasing) that if I didn't use BM's conveyancing services my bid would be deprioritised. I told him I would not be using BM's conveyancing - I don't understand how one agent can act in the interests of two parties to a contract.As I arrived at the property for the second viewing he called to say a sale had been agreed earlier in the day. I spoke to the vendors and they told me the sale agreed was £461k. My best guess is the buyer had agreed to use BM's conveyancing services which probably meant an additional £3-5k to BM and a bonus to the agent - I stand ready to be corrected. The agent sold the property in under two weeks from it going on the market. He told me it was urgent as the vendors had found a place and were eager to move - the vendors told me at the second viewing they were still looking. For some reason, the agent wanted a quick sale.....sold in under two weeks with other potential offers known.....!!!!I believe the agent did not act in the best interests of his client. There is a potential conflict of interest for BM in promoting their conveyancing services and ensuring their client's best interests.

Overall I wouldn’t recommend

As they are quite a well known agency I thought I would be getting good service, we were visited by the branch manager, who, as soon as he received my business- completely disappeared and never responded to anything. We had multiple offers accepted however buyers either weren’t informed correctly about our situation or they messed us around. When we finally progressed with our sale the progression team were terrible- never there, wouldn’t respond and wouldn’t update when they said they were going to. I also kept getting calls from their ‘customer service’ team who had no idea how to respond when I told them know angry I was. There was one amazing lady at the mitcham branch who was phenomenal the whole time- she was the only reason I never went insane. Overall I would not recommend Barnard Marcus.
