Regarding the conduct of Barnard Marcus in relation to arranging property viewings. My property is under contract with another agency and Barnard Marcus has attempted to secure viewings through scraps of paper pushed through the door. This practice is misleading and unprofessional as it wastes the time of both prospective buyers and sellers. It also creates unnecessary confusion and undermines trust in the property market. Clients expect transparency and integrity from reputable agents, and such actions are disgraceful and contrary to those principles. All marketing and viewing arrangements should be handled in compliance with industry regulations and ethical standards and Barnard Marcus fails miserably on that front.

Atrocious service took 13 days to be fixed

13 days of a continuous leakage into my rental property causing my tenants unnecessary distress. Numerous calls to this agent requesting they get the issue sorted out fell on deaf ears. Never have I dealt with such obnoxious behaviour from a team head. The fire brigade had to be called twice as the tenants were totally uncooperative and the agent useless. The leak has actually continued into the property on the ground floor!!

Excellent. We wanted to move but we had no time pressure so when Kelly valued the house significantly higher than the other agents we asked, we agreed that if we got her valuation, we would sell but we would not accept any offers. We were content to stay put for a year or two. We got lots of viewings and several offers which we turned down. Then a full offer from people who unaccountably pulled out after instructing a lawyer and getting local searches. Kelly said no problem and targeted Henry to find another buyer within a month. He did, at full asking price, and we have now exchanged contracts. The service was great and the personnel courteous, professional and effective. Highly recommended.

The team at Barnard Marcus (Surbiton) were fabulous to deal with. They fully appreciated the sensitivity of selling a house via probate, following two tragic deaths, and kept their finger on the pulse at all times. They were calming and reassuring when things seemed to be going wrong, and always on my side. One word though - DO NOT USE their recommended solicitors, Taylor Rose. Utterly hopeless!

Don`t even pass trough by this company. awful as they can`t communicate. they keep offering you mortgatge adviser but they can`t sell a property. anytime i book viewing with barnard marcus i view the property you can1t keep in touch with one person. they even dont talke your offer properly, your position also missing from the form. you keep calling them but there is no clear answers.. they are there to just spend some time and get their sallary thats it..

Beware of Vince from Morden!

Beware of Vince from Morden!! Vince was amazing for the first 2 months but then turned absolute criminal and has caused us nothing but problems and now holding us ransom by not passing on our rent money for the last 2 months!!! On top of this they found us the worst tenant ever and every month keep charging ridiculous fees - everything has been an absolute disaster, do not go near this bunch and manage your property yourself!! 95% of these good reviews are fake.

Flexible but mixed review

Our experience with Barnard Marcus was mixed. Going to the viewings and liaising with the estate agents was fantastic, particularly the Redhill branch, Peter and Gareth. They were super helpful and flexible in supporting us with our first time purchase. However, once we confirmed our offer and got further through the process, we were handed to a senior sales progressor from the New Malden branch who was rude and condescending, trying to pressurise us as first time buyers to expedite her sale. She called us extremely nervous and naive, informing us that we should ignore the results of our home buyers survey as we are holding up exchange, although we only had one simple request to check the boiler. Overall, we would have given 5 stars if we didn’t have these conversations with this individual. We had a good experience and now have the keys to our home.

Worst experience with Alex cumin. Not capable of getting you an offer if your case needs an extra attention. There are thousands of mortgage advisors will do your work more professionally. Alex can only handle straight forward cases. Moreover he goes for long annual holidays where they do not even have a back up who can update on your case, so all you do is wait for him to return. He will be charging you the fees £150 and gives nothing in return. I had my personal mortgage advisor, doesn’t charge me any thing, he got me an offer in 20 days which Alex couldn’t do in months, and I lost the deal because of his useless efforts. He did try to get me the mortgage but that effort was not sufficient, I had an offer accepted through him but due to poor communication and delayed responses to the lender because of his long annual holidays, the lender cancelled the application and agent gave the deal to some other buyer. I did get an offer in 20 days afterwards from my advisor but by the time I lost the deal. Shame on his response…wasted my months on chasing him and get nothing. Paid his fees, solicitor fees and twice for the valuation. All gone wasted. Please find someone better. Thanks

Barnard Marcus is an awful company

Barnard Marcus is an awful company, treating customers as they please. They may start ignoring you, not responding to calls and emails, never fulfil their promises and delay the return of your deposit. Lack of their internal communication between Sutton and Leighton Buzzard branches are laughable. One branch tells you one thing, another branch something else. They can't even make an effort by talking to each other. Avoid at all cost.

Tenacious and thorough. Batting hard for clients

We had a pretty torrid time trying to sell our property when the tenants refuse to leave and damaged the house. Bernard Marcus stayed on the case and remained incredibly patient with the sales process and even after a price was agreed Kelly within that office in Ealing tenaciously contacted all constituent parties almost on the daily basis to speed up an otherwise excessively long process. They absolutely earned their fee and I was delighted to have them in our corner during a drawn out sales process which was no fault of ours or Barnard Marcus.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Paid company full management fees - failed to ask tenant to sign new contract, failed to notify us as Landlord. Tenant left early - huge amount of property damage. Barnard Marcus got all the quotes for remedial works and then failed to present to Ombudsman. Consequently we lost deposit and had to bear loss of rental income and all damage. Totally awful unprofessional deceitful company - AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!
