Appalling! Avoid their customer service is shocking! Avoid especially Ben Almon who should be in the circus instead!

My experience has been appalling. This could be because of Ben Albon who’s not fit for the job. I regret doing any type of business with this agency. He should find alternative employment as the circus is where he belongs. I hope they release me from my contract. I can’t stand how he operates. I always keep my business relationships but I can’t stand this unprofessional man child. Any professional will let me out of my contract if a customer is unhappy but this Napoleon figure is keeping me tied in. I hope someone senior steps in as he is not fit for purpose. He has no customer service skills and I believe is actually working against me during the process.

Rodellene was my agent and we are both so impressed with the service that we received! Right from the very start Rodellene could not have done any more to help me have a smooth ride whilst showing us a few properties. We would 100% recommend Rodellene and the service that she provides and now we've had such an easy ride of finding somewhere to rent we will certainly be back to use her services again some day! The whole process has been great. Tom has been more than just an estate agent, he has gone above and beyond to make sure everything has been ticking along nicely. This was my first house purchase and I trusted him from the get go. Thank you Tom! This guy deserves a promotion! Very pleased with the overall service here when selling our house recently. Jack Whiley provided a great valuation and strategy for putting our place on the market and we had three offers within a week. It is only since dealing with other estate agents while purchasing our new house that I have realised just how good this team is. Overall Jack was more contactable than most and when he was not available his team were well informed and very helpful, especially Andrew. I highly recommend their service which was competitively priced.

I had a brilliant experience with the Barnard Marcus Mortgage Advice Service - and in particular with Peter Gallagher. I can say with confidence that we would not have been able to buy our dream house without Peter's help; he found the right mortgage for us and helped us through each step of the application. He had an ongoing dialogue with the lender on their requirements through the whole process so our offer came through quickly and without any complications. I intend to recommend Peter to friends and family when they next buy a home.

We recently sold our flat with Barnard Marcus in Clapham, and could not have been happier with the service we received. We saw a number of estate agents prior to putting the flat on the market - 3 high street and one online. The online option, I have to admit was tempting - of course due to the significantly reduced fees. However, I firmly believe that had we gone with that option we would not have received anywhere near the level of service, or achieved the same sale price. Communication with Jack and the team at Barnard Marcus was excellent. Even during out of hours we would receive messages about the progress of the sale. We received sound advice on preparing the property for sale and even assistance with removing items of furniture from the flat when we were not able to actually do it ourselves (thanks, Andrew!). Professional, efficient, and again great communication - and worth the fee! I would doubt you will get a better service elsewhere. Highly recommended.

The Turnham Green branch was completely…

The Turnham Green branch was completely awful - avoid. Our buyers' experience with them was so poor that they told us multiple times they were on the verge of pulling out of the sale altogether, causing us a lot of stress. Appointments were forgotten about, leaving our buyers waiting around wondering if anyone would turn up. They were given incorrect information about the lease and ground rent.Barnard Marcus also took advantage of the fact we were first time sellers. They promised us a refund on 50% of our Purplebricks fees, but when it came to the refund being paid out, they pointed us to some small print that was carefully hidden during the sales process and refused to honour their promise.

Unprofessional and expensive

I rented a place with them in 2017 and was first happy with the service the agent provided when looking for flats. There were several things I did not like at the beginning, e.g. they promised a professionally cleaned flat (which was not the case - there were cat hairs everywhere from the previous tenant).Worst of all: I think their fees are too high: £210 tenancy agreement, £120 reference charge and inventory check £180 - thats a total of over £500 - for what exactly?If I had extended my rental contract, they would have charged another £150 contract extension fee - for re-printing the contract.I would avoid them by all means!

What a truly horrendous site to use

The website for this company is just terrible to and try and get any information from, a lot of the things such a legal packs for auctions seem hidden (I had to email to ask for a link to find it). Then you had to make yet another online account to access the pack but once that was made the site just kept saying all the login details were incorrect despite me making the account less that 30 seconds and all long in and confirmation emails coming through to my email fine. Suffocate to say I have moved on from this property and will not be looking at anything else by this provider.

Fantastic Service from Demi at Chiswick branch

Demi at the Chiswick office was enthusiastic, obliging and went out of her way to get this deal done. This was a probate sale and there were various "hiccups" along the way. I only really dealt with Jack Whiley and Tom Ridge, both of whom were highly professional and made the entire process run much more smoothly than I think it would have otherwise. Terrible service.

Terrible service. Lied about my buyer being a first time buyer, he was in fact selling his own property and I accepted a lower price on the basis that it should’ve been a quick sale but 5 months later I don’t have a completion date and my buyer’s buyer threatening to pull out. The conveyancer they recommended (Taylor Rose) are shockingly bad. Slow, do not chase or keep you in the loop at all and either Barnard Marcus or the conveyancer they recommended breached GDPR legislation by passing my email address on to my buyer without my permission. Update: I have now completed and not heard from Barnard Marcus at all since exchanging contracts 2 weeks ago. I ended up contacting the buyer directly on completion day and handing over the keys myself!

I advertised my property for sale, it didn't sell, which is fine, however after months of requesting to remove the property off the market it is still there. I have emailed on a number of times and no response. Absolutely useless and very disappointing as I was planing to place the property on the market with them again next year, but now there is no way I would do that.
