To date and over 5 years since investing in a development through RWinvest, I still patiently wait for a compensation package due to the development failing and going into administration.Very regrettably I expect to receive less than 50% of the £ 65K that I outlaid towards the property.Please exercise extreme caution when investing.

Dear Alistair,The development you purchased a property in was a residential buy-to-let investment property.Unfortunately in 2020 the developer encountered difficulties due to a series of complex and unprecedented challenges faced across the industry due to the global Covid-19 pandemic and national lockdowns imposed across the country.When restrictions began to ease, the construction team were one of the first to return to site to continue with construction work but there were still safe distancing measures and a multitude of other new safe working measures in place. Due to the constantly changing nature of the pandemic and government imposed rules, the developer was ultimately unable to continue with the build and was placed in to administration. Once this happened RWinvest contacted all investors to inform them of the position and offered a proposal to assist the buyers to purchase the site out of administration with the funds they had already contributed in order to progress the site to completion. Within this proposal we offered to assist buyer to appoint any required contractors, quantity surveyors and necessary personnel to complete the build. For the proposal to move forward this would require the agreement of all investors, but unfortunately circa. 50% failed to respond to the proposal, and of those that did respond, some were not willing to move forward with the proposal.With this being the case the development was left in the hands of the administrators who are the specialists in restructuring, and we understand that they are still in constant communication with all investors working to secure the best possible outcome. Spotted a property that I really liked to buy as an owner occupier and rang them up to enquire. They said all had been sold yet nearly a dozen adverts remained. A few days later one got reduced so I rang again and they said they were not sure why this had happened. Yet I had someone ring on a different number pretending to be an investor and they wanted to send info packs out. I had another person ring up as an owner occupier after that and they said the flat in question that had been reduced, had been reserved that morning but it was 20 minutes after I had rang up. So blatant lies from the company who seem to have a problem with owner occupiers yet advertising they welcome them. Really unhelpful.
