GoogleI have recently moved into a property rented from Hunters and, so far the service they have offered us has been great. Through no fault of Hunters, unfortunately, there have been multiple issues with the property since the move in day, however, everything is gradually getting sorted thanks to Chloe. Chloe has been lovely throughout the whole process and helped us get everything fixed as quickly as possible and has been on hand and responsive when we've needed assistance. She has always been there to answer calls and responds quickly to emails which has been very helpful as we've needed to get in contact regularly. It was a stressful couple of weeks at the start of the tenancy but Chloe and Hunters have reassured us the whole time and been very attentive with the issues we have had.PositiveResponsiveness, Professionalism

GoogleRENTERS AVOID HUNTERS LETTING AGENCY LIVERPOOL
During house viewing I was told that the old furniture will be removed before I move in. When I moved into the house the old furniture was in the house and stayed in the house for 19 days until I have arranged for council to pick it. Renting from Hunters Liverpool was horrible experience. I was refused access to the landlord. Repairs were not carried out for months. Washing machine broke down I was asked to use laundrette. When I moved out I have cleaned the whole house, but Hunters want to charge me £300 to clean a two bedroom house. I am still challenging it with DPS at the moment. If you are renter and you rent from this guys in Liverpool you will REGRET IT!!!

Chike I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your review. However we absolutely dispute your comments. It is also important to note, that you were evicted from the property by a court order and would suggest that you are venting your anger at the agent rather than the landlord.

GoogleThe maintenance man Ray is incredibly helpful and always up for a chat. Sometimes I feel a little anxious about letting people I don’t know into my flat but he’s always a pleasure to be around and makes me feel at ease. Chloe is also lovely and replies to emails very quickly and professionally. Would recommend.

GoogleVery disappointed with this company, will never use again their services. As a result of their work, we received a claim of over £500 after 1 year living at the property, which is currently in dispute with DPS. Make lots of pictures and videos of the smallest detail in the house (including every screw in the bed frame) and be sure to do the same when you leave.
We recommend future tenants to carefully check the electricity costs associated with their properties. Documents were provided by Hunters (nothing illegal done), but it would have been a kind touch to mention that detail, as it has the lowest possible category, costing a fortune to keep warm.
If you need to pass any message, I also recommend you mail the full staff members' list to be sure the issues are recorded.
Thanks for such a "pleasant lesson", we won't be fooled twice.

As you have stated, you will have the full opportunity to dispute the claim against your deposit. Our inventories and check out reports are carried out by a third party company to ensure impartiality. However you were fully aware of our claim, kitchen clean including oven, replace broken bed, remove blue tack on the dividing doors and repaint. With regards to your energy bills, the landlord nor the agent can be held responsible for a tenants usage or tariff. The EPC was included in the marketing material and your move in pack.

GoogleI have purchased many properties over the years. I came across a property for sale in Liverpool which we viewed with Leah Connor, it was a cash purchase. We found out that the property didn't even have a lease and had large charges against the property my solicitor said she does not know how Hunters were able to market a property like this. Leah said everything was fine and pushing us to complete within 2 weeks. We think Leah was very inexperienced.. I purchase a few properties per year but would never use Hunters again, they are one of the smaller franchises in Liverpool
The property was withdrawn by hunters. Be very careful when purchasing any property through hunters
Thank you for replying but as confirmed Leah informed us there was nothing wrong with the lease. I think if you didn't know you should at least of said this as the property could of never been sold? I would have never of posted this review if Leah or someone else just said sorry we missed this. Instead I felt like Hunters are always on the defence and blaming purchasers. As this should of been a simple cash purchase.

Thank you Harrison for your review. I can confirm that Leah left the company in February this year. Unfortunately, I am unable to comment specifically on the details surrounding the sale as I am unaware of what property you are referring to. However, I can confirm that the issues you have faced surrounding the lease and any subsequent charges attached to the property are the responsibility of your solicitor to ascertain and not the agent. Unsure of the relevance of 'a small' agent, I can confirm that we are not a small agent. We are one of the biggest agents in the country with over 270 branches.

GoogleInitially I gave them a 5 star review because they pressed me so hard to do it right then and there before I could receive my lease and leave their office. I said I could do it after I left as I was not logged in on my phone, but they told me to log into my google account ON THEIR OFFICE COMPUTER so I could do the review before leaving the office. That should have been my first red flag, nevertheless, I did not foresee the unprofessional standards Hunters would continue to show throughout my tenancy. Hunters seemed to never take responsibility for anything and the communication I received often came across rude and passive aggressive. There were multiple issues throughout my tenancy, however, the biggest problem was when I was locked out of my own flat for at least 4 days because the door's pin code lock was broken. Hunter's seemed to take no ownership of this issue and quickly passed blame off to the property manager. They also showed no initiative to assist in getting the problem resolved and left me on my own.
I would caution those who are considering using Hunters as a letting agency. I was not impressed and, in fact, quite frustrated and disappointed with my experience.

GoogleBefore I begin, I'd stress to future tenants under Hunters to review them after your tenancy has ended! Initially I gave them a 5 star for their helpfulness in moving in after they asked, however I did not foresee the unprofessional and unethical standards Hunters would show throughout my tenancy. You will see a lot of 4-5 star reviews say this so take it with a pinch of salt. However, if you look at other negative reviews you can find a thematic pattern of Hunters not taking responsibility and excusing themselves from any mishap tenants may face which is relevant to this review.
I'd like to address my housemates review you can find under the name of "Josh Kay". Everything he said is true to the word and Hunter's copy and pasted response to my review is about as representative as it gets when describing their lack of effort in dealing with their tenants.
In response, on what solid grounds can you call how we left and treated the house we lived in as being "disgusting" across 12 months? You had one inspection and one viewing from what I am aware. I'd appreciate seeing some evidence of this to support your insulting claims. Our landlord visited on a few occasions and expressed to me once that we were actually quite clean! Which he was pleased to see. Even your own agent said it was fine to me personally on inspection!
The conditions of the house you might find "disgusting" is the leak from a pipe in the bathroom effecting a wall in the kitchen. This was reported roughly one month of moving in. Excessive damp and clumps of mould formed because you never bothered to deal with it when you said you would. I'd imagine its still there with the new tenants given the landlord said he had problems to fix in casual messages about the return of deposit.
You can find damp/damages to the house in 3 rooms which is unavoidable given the lack of insulation in the house and lack of professional maintenance.
All we got charged for was a broken bathroom mirror which I personally accepted the charge for and a dirty carpet another tenant accepted a charge for. Surely if the house was in a "disgusting" state we would have paid a lot more out of our deposit but we got more than 90% of it back. Therefore, I'd claim this is a blatant lie and I'll be adding pictures to show this.
We reported everything wrong with the house including a broken washing machine which took a roughly month to fix. You claimed it wasn't your problem, however we found in our contract it was in fact your problem and when we found this it was fixed in a couple of days funnily enough. Other problems such as reports of more damp on other walls were never rectified.
Same situation here with the overgrown weeds in the garden and specifically the overgrown bush/weed growing out of the side wall. You were contractually and legally obliged to take it down given that it was over 2.5 metres high when we moved in and eventually collapsed because of the height. This was a safety measures for your tenants! Nevertheless, you forced our landlords hand in coming from the other side of the country to cut it down himself when you could've called professionals! There will be a picture of the bush and an after photo of the garden to show how we left it.
I had been made aware that the landlord was rarely told about issues with the house, as when he did visit and see the damages that we reported he was visibly appalled.
I definitely would not have reached out for your service even if you would have allowed it so by prohibiting that you have effectively provided a positive experience here at the least. It says a lot that our landlord personally messaged us to say if we do need a positive reference in the future we can contact him anytime!
Finally, please see the pictures that show we left the house in a more than acceptable state.
***Your extended response is another blatant lie. Josh moved out early and me and Tom stayed. You have no proof of the state of the house. We have more detail of your lies if you'd like to continue.

Thank you for you for taking the time to provide your feedback. Please accept my sincere apologies for what you believe to be a poor level of service that you have received from Hunters, however we strongly dispute you claim and would be more than happy to discuss in further detail during a face to face meeting. We can only assume that you are upset that you were challenged on the or condition that you had left the property. It appeared that the property had not been cleaned in 12 months and was absolutely disgusting. Unfortunately, given the condition that you left the property, we would would not welcome you back as a tenant and this will reflected in any future references. However, thank you for providing the photographs following your clean of the property after you had returned possession. Hunters agreed to your request to return to the property after check out, providing you with an opportunity to clean it yourself to avoid a claim against your deposit.

GoogleHonestly I never leave reviews, but feel it's my duty to inform people that Hunters Liverpool are really bad at managing tenancies. There are many stories I can tell you about my time renting with them, but for now I'll only focus on their poor communication skills.
The most recent example is that I received an email today about an issue in the apartment while I moved out in January 2021 (nearly 4 years ago!). During our tenancy we (me and my 3 housemates) unsuccessfully tried to get the agency to do something as simple as CC'ing all of the tenants in important emails, as we had very different schedules. Then, on multiple occasions, it happened to my old housemates and myself that we received emails about important things in the apartment (like in the screenshot) after we'd moved out.
The only reason I'm writing this review is because an estate agent should be capable of sending emails to its tenants. That's one of their most important jobs: to keep their records up to date and communicate with the right people. If this had happened once or twice I wouldn't be writing this review, but I stopped counting and it's now a running joke between me and my old housemates: Oh, typically Hunters! 🙄

Thank you for your review. Please be aware that an agent has no obligation to communicate to multiples when there is one tenancy agreement in place. We can also confirm that all reported issues were dealt with timely and effectively. In terms of your recent communication, we can confirm that it did not originate from Hunters. A contractor made the error. Following works, the contractor chose an historic tenancy from the drop down box when using their software.

GoogleInitial experience of renting a flat for my daughter and her friend has been less than professional and certainly not a ‘positive’ experience. Calls were not returned and the date for going back to check the agreed works to the flat had been done (12 August) and then signing the tenancy agreement came and went with no confirmation of the arrangements from them despite the numerous calls we made. However they sent a tenancy agreement yesterday afternoon by email headed up ‘sign this now’ with rent due from yesterday for a flat that needed repairs doing and that we hadn’t seen or arranged to get the keys for. The tenancy agreement had many errors and ambiguous clauses in it. Shambolic service.
Update: It would be useful for Hunters to provide some factual evidence of their ‘strongly disputed’ reasons why they feel my review is not representative of what actually happened. A professional organisation would take on board customer service issues and work hard to make things right, not bleat on about other reviews that make them look good so negative reviews must therefore be wrong. Enough said about their attitude to substantiated criticism of their service!!

GoogleI decided to move back to Liverpool and had tried a number of local estate agents, all of whom disappointed, seemed distant and detached from the needs of the customer. That was until I tried Hunters, hence, making my choice of estate agents a very easy one. I duly chose Hunters as my preferred agent after the truly exceptional service given by property manager Gemma Flanagan.
From initial agent contact to ongoing liaison throughout the entire letting process Gemma has gone above and beyond what is expected and takes customer service to a level I have never received before.
Gemma’s communications are above exceptional, as is an understanding and proactive approach to servicing her client’s needs.
I cannot overemphasise the extremely high level of customer service, empathy and involvement Gemma gives to ensure her client’s needs/requirements are satisfied.
Patience, the ability to listen and care about a client’s needs are cornerstones in exceptional service and Gemma possess those attributes in abundance.
Well done and thank you Gemma, I generally don’t take the time to give feedback and thanks where it is due, but had to in this instance.
With the aforementioned in mind I can thoroughly and honestly recommend Hunters for all of your property letting, buying or sales needs.
If you are thinking of letting give Gemma a call at Hunters, you are in very safe, caring and capable hands there, Hunters and Gemma are more than happy to help.

GoogleHonestly, not sure where they got all these 5 stars from as they seem really fishy. Just have a look at the lower star reviews and make your decision from there if you decide to rent with them. From the start of my communication with them, I would call to require about the tenancy and deposit etc and I would receive extremely rude customer service, have the phone put down on me two times (especially after I have told them I was calling internationally and this was costly, and being told I would get a call back and this would never happen. However, because I was in an urgent and tricky situation, I remained adamant to secure my tenancy as to not conflict with my studies. However, I should have known the lack of helpfulness and communication would be pervasive throughout my tenancy. I’ve been here almost three months and I can not wait to move out. Since the start of my tenancy, I have complained about silverfish and bugs in my toilet. I have sent almost 5 emails, called over 4 times, and visited the agency in person once and I still have not had any issue sorted. They continuously ask for pictures of these insects and you have to continuously stay on them to receive some help. After a contractor finally came and saw me, I thought he would resolve this issue for me. However, he simply came and left ants baits (when I had clearly said that I have flies and silverfish) and never checked up ever again. Additionally, we have previously had our codes changed for the doors that allow us to enter the building and haven’t even received an email on it, leaving me to be unable to ENTER my own house and have to wait for other tenants to ask them for help or if they knew what was going on (they didn’t either) Anyways, if you want to live in a place where none of the landlord/agency obligations are going to be carried and you have to constantly be frustrated, uncomfortable in your own house then hunters agency is the place to be.

Thank you for your review. To clarify, we have 427 reviews with a score of 4.6 which needs no defending unless you are suggesting that 420 people have lied when writing their review.
To clarify, Hunters can evidence that any email that has been received from you has been replied to. Hunters have also copied you into all emails sent to the landlord in addition to having no evidence that you have visited the office in person. We can also confirm that you have reported two issues, damp in the bathroom and the presence of flies. A plumber attended confirming that there was no leak, and the moisture was caused from you not using the extractor fan. There was no evidence of silver fish during the visit. Silver fish are attracted by moisture. They sit behind wall cavities.
A second contractor attended the property. Again, there was no evidence of flies. However, the contractor did advise you that there were no issues within the property that would cause flies, and you may wish to consider closing the windows. Unfortunately, neither the landlord nor Hunters can be responsible for flies entering the property. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the tenant to manage their own flies. Regarding access to the communal door, this is a block management company responsibility which neither the landlord nor Hunters is responsible for. Please contact the block management company directly. Their number can be found on the notice board in the communal area. If you have any further issues, we would appreciate it if you could contact a member of the team directly to provide us with the opportunity to resolve any issues that you may have before providing a one-sided review which could have a damaging impact to our business with far reaching consequences
