Poor estate agent

We have experienced extremely long delays and very poor communication throughout this process. We have been waiting since 6 October to complete on our house, with little to no meaningful progress. We were told that the case had been escalated to a senior case worker, but nothing changed and no improvements were made. Updates were minimal and often required chasing, which added unnecessary stress to an already difficult situation. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Absolutely fantastic

Lauren has been absolutely fantastic. Right from the very start, she has been reassuring and pointed us in the right direction. There were moments during the sale that I have felt very nervous and needed reassurance and Lauren has been absolutely lovely every step of the way. Lauren was able to help us get everything in place early on, so we didn't miss out on the house that we really wanted. So I am very grateful to her for that. Thank you for everything! Emily at Pygott and Crone was incredible with the process of our sale and purchase. Always on hand when I had any queries or worry. It’s been a stressful process as the sale fell through 2 months after offer got accepted , and she managed to find another buyer for our house within a matter of days. She’s friendly, knowledgeable and even offered to go the extra mile and call third parties involved for us to speed the process up. Everyone else in the team who have helped while Emily has been out of office, have also been incredible and really helpful. We would happily use Pygott and Crone again, and definitely worth the extra money compared to other estate agents! We used AJ for our new mortgage and he has also been amazing and so friendly. He had quick responses to any questions I had and he kept us updated throughout. Again, would definitely use the whole team again. Thanks again to everyone involved in our sale and purchase.

We got in touch with Pygott & Crone following seeing a house we wanted to view. Edward called back on the same day and booked us in for when we were next available. We then became available before so rung back up to change the date and they were really flexible and got us in earlier. Edward has been incredible to speak to, he’s been informative and has offered us other properties to look at which met our requirements. He was prompt booking the viewings in and answering any questions. Emily was very helpful in providing answers to questions I had about a property which assisted us in making an offer. Emma was an absolute delight showing us round, she was very informative, friendly and polite. She put our offer in straight away and Edward handled the negotiations incredibly well. They’ve been a pleasure to work with in our first step of home buying. Thank you all so much. An additional edit as of 12 August 2025: We have been working with Alisha for a couple of weeks from Pygott & Crone as she has been our go-between on behalf of the sellers for the property we’re purchasing. Alisha has been really helpful throughout the process replying to emails quickly and updating us every week on what was outstanding. She has managed to maintain this level of communication despite how busy she is and we are really grateful for how attentive she has been with us throughout the process. Towards the end of the process, she made sure we were well aware of if there would be any hiccups and kept us updated for the eventual completion date. We genuinely couldn’t be happier with the response we’ve received from all the staff we’ve worked with at Pygott & Crone but especially Alisha, Ed, Emily & Emma. They have made the whole process amazing from start to finish. I’d easily recommend working with any of them.

If we could give more than 5* we would! Fabulous service, especially from Jonathan who went above and beyond to enable our sale to go through as smoothly as possible. I cant quite believe how difficult it is just get a viewing on a house with this company. It took me 3 phone calls leaving 2 different contact numbers to see if they had availability for us to have a weekend viewing. No call back, I called them, said I would get a call back....no call back. 8 hours after my initial call I spoke to the original lady who said she had emailed me......no email received. Eventually told we could have a viewing in 3 weeks time......I would seriously think about selling your property with these guys. 3 weeks to view a house!!! Bad customer service

A completely laughable experience from start to finish. We received an email from the branch manager confirming that our offer on a property had been accepted. Naturally, we informed our solicitor and started moving things forward. Then, out of nowhere, Oli called to tell us the offer had never been accepted and that a higher offer had been taken instead, without giving us any opportunity to increase ours. To make matters worse, they then lied to the seller who we have been in contact with - claiming they had never told us our offer was accepted. Unfortunately for them, email trails exist, even if Pygott & Crone don’t seem to understand that. I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this estate agent. They are more than happy to lie to both sides to cover their own mistakes, and the lack of professionalism is staggering.

Cannot fault, would definitely recommend

We had previously tried two other estate agents to sell our deceased mum’s property and had very few viewings and were not impressed with their lack of contact with us. However from the first meeting with Davis we were very impressed with the service from Pygott & Crone. We had viewings booked from the very first week and he was in regular contact with us to keep us informed about the current market. Once we accepted an offer they remained In regular contact throughout the sale process. We cannot fault the whole team and would definately recommend them to family & friends in the future.

I wasn't going to write a review but…

I wasn't going to write a review but seeing as how they asked me to here goes: I am writing as a seller so this applies to their estate agency business which is separate from their letting business. I have moved a few times this has been the most stressful move of the lot, partly down to P&C and partly down to Stonebow Law, the conveyancers they pushed us towards - probably because they get a pretty big kick back via their legal arm - Pygott and Crone Legal services. Despite paying them over 6 grand they did not attend one single viewing, they only arranged 3. We negotiated with our buyer and got 5k more than P&C had suggested, it was no thanks to them. They charge extra for the media pack - another 300 quid, the guys that did that were exceptional but having paid P&C over 6 grand for virtually nothing you would expect that to be included. A couple of times simple enquiries turned in to shouting matches, it was very unprofessional at times. the only time there was any sense of urgency is when they sent us the final bill within about 5 minutes of exchange of contracts. Another thing that really wound me up was when they found out after the fact that our buyers had visited the property after their initial visit. P&C phoned to ask when it was so they could retrospectively put it in the diary. I got more angry about that than perhaps I should but it was clearly so that in the event of a dispute they could claim that they had done more than they actually had. So at the end of the day they got paid over 6 grand for what totalled no more than a few hours work, we did everything. A truly horrible experience that has left a very bitter taste in the mouth. Things took far too long, I felt every time I contacted them they considered me to be a nuisance. Yes, I am very demanding when I have to work so long to pay them to do so little but I just expect to be treated like a customer - I never really felt that.
