GoogleHighly recommend! During a very lengthy process, the team at Starkey and Brown were outstanding. Communication from start to finish was excellent. Also a big shout out to Angie, who kept me updated, almost daily at one point, so I was fully informed at each part of the process.

GoogleStarkey and Brown (Lincoln) deserve more than five stars in our opinion. Even though we were purchasers rather than sellers and as such we were not their clients they went above and beyond in all aspects and stages of our purchase. Without exception the staff at the Lincoln office did a great job. Worth a specific mention is Sales Progressor Angie Powell. She did a fantastic job of chasing people in the chain and keeping us informed of progress. Highly recommended.

GoogleI had a very positive experience working with Anita at Starkey & Brown. She was always responsive, professional, and incredibly helpful whenever I had questions or needed assistance. Her communication was clear and prompt, which made the whole process much smoother and far less stressful. I truly appreciate her support throughout and would highly recommend both Anita and Starkey & Brown to anyone looking for a reliable and professional estate agent.

GoogleMy late mother's 3 bedroom, well maintained, if slightly dated, detached bungalow with ensuite, she was 95 when she died, has been listed by Starkey and Brown since March 2023. The sale being arranged by my brother. So far, not even one offer. I'm sorry, but I don't believe the property is so awful, that some positive selling would not have secured a sale. Price already much reduced. New kitchen, new bathroom, conservatory, what's so unusual about buyers negotiating the price on an otherwise very acceptable property if those are needed? Starkey and Brown advertise extensively locally their expertise. I would never, ever recommend them if selling a property.

GoogleThis review is written as a buyer. I viewed 40 houses through different agents and a couple via Starkey & Brown and they were one the best in terms of contacting them, accomodating viewings and not over pressuring in the follow up calls. Ben was very friendly and did a great job keeping me up to date with viewings and respecting my opinion if I didn't feel it was for me. I eventually bought a property that was on the market with Starkey and Brown. The sales progressor did a good job pushing things through and more importantly keeping people informed (this is important to me as an anxious person, sorry for the odd email pushing for information). The sale took exactly 2 months from offer accepted to completion with a small chain. Not bad going really. I can't comment on the seller side of things but people looking to put your property on the market, Starkey and Brown at least to me seem one of the best for the buyer facing side of things. Some places I wouldnt consider buying due to the agents unless the price was spectacular but not Starkey and Brown. Let's hope completion goes smoothly! Thanks again.

Scunthorpe branch starkey and Brown Avoid please anyone thinking of using these to rent their property through or anyone thinking of renting of them they are very bad at looking after tenants maintenance takes for ever endless phone calls for weeks on end .The last straw for me was in June I Had waited over a year and half for them to paint the front windows and doors and the back windows and doors the guy who came was called Danny he took 16 hrs to do the work it is a complete bogged job didn't sand down properly still can see where old paint was didn't undercoat or prime didn't use gloss like I asked for used dull matt and then missed areas completely and second visit damaged with paint Laura ashley blind in the bathroom. Complained to head of lettings Aimee Murphy who was so nasty and unprofessional and then I find out its her Partner who runs the maintenance side of things DS Projects. A week Later Kay Bardsley from lettings came to see what had been done and agreed it wasn't good and said she would get back to me over 12 weeks later still waiting ignored my emails about the problem and won't answer her phone. Im now putting a complaint into head of starkey and Brown and also the council are supporting me with this but the stress has made me ill and they dont care one bit I just wish my landlord had chosen someone better to manage the property as they are not fit for purpose I did rent direct from the landlord but because of failing heath after 9 years they put it in the hands of these imbeciles .PLEASE BE WARNED I HAVE JUST BEEN TOLD BY A CLOSE FRIEND WHO RENTED OF THEM THEY WAS JUST THE SAME TO THEM. AVOID.

GoogleSold my house with them but at the last minute it fell through. Bad buyers, that I had concerns over from the start and in the end proved correct. Buyers kept coming round checking things out, bringing builders, slagging the layout off and the wife was extremely disrespectful about me to my partner. I told starkey to inform them I was unhappy and had enough of them. I also told them to tell them no more viewings. This was not communicated and they then said they would do further viewings even though I had told them no more!They pacified them To achieve the sale and gain the commission even though there were clear warning signs. Cost me over £1000 in wasted fees and surveys. Listen to your customers Starkey!

GoogleExcellent service and tenacity from Angie Powell at Starkey & Brown who had to deal with slow responses from the sellers side. Would have been 5 stars but unfortunately the House Sale details did not mention or warn about the Private Road Management and Maintenance Charges or the fact that the Title to the Garage was only Leasehold. However, once this was discovered Angie arranged a modest compensation payment. I have no hesitation in recommending this Agency and would deal with them again.

GoogleAnita Savage was absolutely brilliant when dealing with my property that was proving difficult to sell because of the type of property it was. She was always positive, encouraging and wonderful, even if things were not going so well. The whole team were absolute stars and I am so glad I chose Starkey and Brown to sell my property and would recommend them as the best. However, Anita Freeman at Starkey & Brown was consistently proactive and maintained excellent communication throughout. She provided a calming and reassuring presence during a chaotic period, and I am certain that without her dedication the sale would have faced further delays. The service received was truly excellent.

It is easy to see how this industry is viewed by members of the public as not to be trusted, expensive to use with little or no morals when it comes to selling houses. My perception changed when I discovered Starkey & Brown. They simply have been a pleasure to deal with showing care, attention and most importantly honesty and integrity to both clients and buyers alike. Our agent Debbie Negus has been nothing short of brilliant in every respect. I thoroughly recommend this company. They are a bright light in a somewhat gloomy, sometimes dishonest, emotionally charged business environment.

GoogleI've just purchased my first house through Starkey and Brown and I cannot praise them enough!! Angie was fantastic, very attentive and quick to push things through. I was far from the easiest client to deal with, with all the problems I encountered and my complete lack of knowledge in buying houses, but the entire team was very supportive, going the extra mile when they didn't need to. Would recommend, especially if you are a first time buyer!

GoogleAll in all a really good all round experience with the Lincoln team. Frazer coming round to value and photograph was very friendly and thorough. Angie who co-ordinated the sale was brilliant. Communication was frequent and useful and she was very proactive in her advice to help the sale go through as quickly and efficiently as possible.

GoogleAfter a long marketing campaign through difficult times for sellers, S&B found several buyers for our house, when the market improved. I am very pleased overall. They had a structured and reasonable approach to valuation based on the square metres of land and other features, and they were right ! I am glad I was not tempted to go with agents that proposed a much lower starting price to begin with.
