Best agency ever! The London rental experience is extremely tough but Strettons, in particular Zita Mann, have been incredible. Zita has made sure that we always felt supported and heard. She's not only kind and lovely but truly professional and efficient. Can't recommend enough, can't thank Zita enough!

We’ve just sold our flat in London with Strettons. What a team! Dealing with Michael and Stuart, we’ve been helped at every stage. This was a difficult flat to sell, requiring a lease extension. Their expertise was invaluable. They treat each transaction as a ‘home’ not just a house, understanding the emotional ties for buyer and seller alike. I will really miss dealing with them. They kept us up to date and advised. Always available, they took calls and WhatsApp’s and were fun too. Despite the flat taking a while to sell, they never flagged with their enthusiasm for the sale, treating each viewer as the first. Call them for your own property and you’ll find the best in London.

I found Strettons very unprofessional when I put two properties on auction resulting in waste of a lot of money and time. The way they advertised the properties in the catalog was extremely unprofessional with poor quality of pictures and other contents. Despite of complaint the retake of pictures was not done and they were re-listed for a second auction without making any efforts to improve anything. I am surprised that no manager or a supervisor is there to ensure or review the quality of contents that can fetch good results. Their aim seem to be just to charge the fee and fill in the blanks without much efforts.

Thank you for leaving your feedback. We try our best to sell all properties listed at auction, and the best results come from properties priced correctly. We are sorry to hear you do not feel you received the service you wanted, and we will work to improve this in the future.

As tenants of 5 years, we maintained our flat to high standards. Despite negotiating in good faith for a tenancy renewal amid a significant rent hike, we were informed of the landlord's decision to sell. This news came via email on a Saturday morning of a bank holiday weekend (effectively causing significant stress throughout what was supposed to have been a nice weekend!). Strettons, apart from one email redirecting us to the lettings team, did not actively assist in helping us find a new property. After we vacated, the property shifted from a 'for sale' to a 'for let' listing! Additionally, the return of our deposit took nearly a month, with disputes arising over proposed deductions for what we deemed as wear and tear. It got to the point where we were ringing or emailing daily to enquire about when we'd expect a return of our deposit. In summary, our experience with Strettons lacked the expected respect and appreciation for us as tenants, leaving room for improvement in tenant relations and deposit returns.

I have been using Strettons since 2005 and have always received a top professional service. They are friendly, approachable and willing to assist in all aspects of both purchasing and selling at auction. What can be a daunting process was made seamless and easy. Thank you particularly to Maryam who was in constant communication and replied to all emails within 10 minutes. You don’t get this high level of professionalism often. It was a pleasure to deal with you and I will be using you again. Thank you.

Strettons was recommended by my solicitor as I had a complex case with difficult freeholders and from start to finish Sam Harborne was brilliant the property sold before auction and he even got buyer to pay my solicitor costs and for the surveyor report 👍 👏 I highly recommend Sam at Strettons they done for me what my old solicitor gave up on due to very nasty freeholders who was using bullying tactics to Rob Me off my inheritance karma got to them very professional company thank you Sam Harborne 😀 👍

Strettons are totally unprofessional

Strettons are totally unprofessional, I will not recommend it even to my worst enemy. I am considering legal action against them. I have dealt with Paul Joseph, as a receiver and I was paying rent monthly to the managing agent. As I was away for holidays, he hired a company to harass the current tenants living in the place, and asking them to give money to a different account. Two big guys were knocking the door and windows at 7am in the morning, and telling one of the ladies who was alone at home to pay today to a different bank account, or she will have to leave that night evicted. She got really scared even to leave the house again. This is not how a professional company does business, but more a Mafia business.

Very unhelpful

Very unhelpful, unprofessional, they are only interested in taking their payments before you have completed. They sold our flat at auction on 12 Dec 24, it's now 28th April 25 and the sale is not completed, they have taken their payments and left us and the solicitors to deal with the Buyer they sold the property to, who is not able to complete the transaction. Robert at Strettons says it's up to your solicitors to resolve the issues, has nothing to do with us at Strettons, meanwhile they have put on their website 'property sold at Auction'. Dear Reader, don't be fooled, we the sellers are still struggling to get paid, completion has not happened. Strettons have taken their payment so don't care what happens to the Seller. Stay away from them, have no dealings with them.

Strettons tried to manage the sale of the flat I was living in. This is how I found out - one Saturday morning I woke up to loud banging noises. Thought it was one of my neighbours - but when I opened the curtain, Strettons had come by and nailed in a gigantic sign right outside my window. My landlord has paused the sale but the sign is still up. No notification of when it will come down or that it was being put up in the first place. Bad experience with viewings too. They will not treat you like a person with a life. Five different people called me in one week asking to make appointments for viewings, taking photos of the property, and inspections. When I set a time for viewings, I called to confirm on the day and was told that the person was not in that day - no one would have let me know and I would have stopped my work to go home for no reason. Strettons should try to see the tenants still living in the flats they're selling as people, and bring some respect and decency to the way they do their business.

Hi M Fanning, we'd really like to help by learning more about this and where your property is if you can please email contact@strettons.co.uk? We have spoken with all the relevant teams and none of them have record of this name, but our teams would only have one or two points of contact per property, so suspect it might be an external agent to ours. Either way, we'd like to help and hope to hear from you by email. All the best, Strettons.

it was a very bad and upsetting experience knowing that they dont tell you the complete truth before auction as i was having a look on internet i found this property called 35 Dunraven Avenue LU1 1TP. and it was on auction for 1,85,000 pounds then i got some friends near that house when i asked them about that property they told me the truth that the property has been in dispute for past 10 years and strattons still havent agreed with owners to sell and and still fighting in courts . isnt it too early to sell it before even getting rights to do so? is it fair on me to buy the house and to go courts to get posession as also the property has tenants which was NEVER mentioned in advert that it was occupied. also the property is in very bad condition and its not fair to pay even a single penny for that.

Paresh · 24 August 2023

Agent replied · 23 August 2024

Hi Paresh! I don’t know if you’re connected in some way to the person who successfully bid on this property at our May auction (although yours is not the name on the contract), but has, at the time of writing, not yet completed the purchase. However, I am delighted to confirm to you that Strettons were instructed to sell this property by the court appointed LPA Receivers. The LPA Receivers are unaware of any current “fighting in courts” (sic); so your suggestion that we did not have the right to offer the property for sale at the time of the auction, is not correct. Furthermore, the listing for this property, both on our website and in our printed catalogue, quite clearly stated that the property was “Occupied on unknown terms”; so for you to suggest that the tenancy was never mentioned is again, incorrect. Our auctioneer always goes to great lengths at the beginning of each auction to ensure that prospective bidders are absolutely sure that they know exactly what it is that they are bidding on; and if they don’t, then they shouldn’t bid. This is also detailed on our website and in the notices to prospective bidders in the catalogue. We'd be very happy to help answer any questions about this - please just give us a call.

Yua · 24 August 2021

Agent replied · 23 August 2024

We’re sorry to read this review but we can’t trace a record of Yua Sato. If you want to let us know which property or case this refers to, we’ll try to answer you, we take all complaints very seriously. By definition, we can’t “fix” an auction since we have no control over who bids, and no knowledge of who a successful bidder will be. Auction is often used as a means of selling, precisely to show that it is an open and transparent process. By urging people not to bid, you are simply harming another client by reducing the amount that they will receive. If you have a complaint, please email us contact@strettons.co.uk and we’ll try to address and resolve this for you.

Their last MD has a very special…

Their last MD has a very special friendship with the CEO of Together Money/TCFL. Then add Together Money/TCFL solicitor Priority Law & this completes the hat trick. There are many sides to this mostly unpleasant Receiver. Certainly by not carrying out his duty of care which one expects of a receiver. There were three occasions where he could have realised that things were not right. Firstly when he realised I had a job due to start only a few weeks away, he went out of his way to discredit me thereby ensuring the company withdrew their offer of employment. After agreeing terms and accepting payment from a friend of mine, he accepted monies specifically to clear Service Charge arrears & first charges. Instead of paying such arrears & debts, he decided to pay himself and his company Strettons (yes he is still one of the owners even though he has conveniently stepped down as MD) with this money. He purloined some £11,500 allegedly to remove my property from Strettons own auction. Normally this would have cost no more than £500. Because I was unaware of non-payment both the service charge and the mortgage arrears; this resulted in me receiving a country court judgement, for failure to pay. When we did say to Priority Law about this sum of money, it vanished and ended up as a payment on Together Money/TCFL brief accounts. It took us over eighteen months to get any breakdown at all 'I would explain but you cant afford for me to' being a standard line from this greedy man. I have written evidence of an email from this MD of Strettons to Together Money/TCFL admitting his intentions to illegally force out the tenant of my flat in SW1 by getting him to leave/terminate his tenancy, which he went on to fulfil yet subsequently denied. The Stretton’s receiver forced tenant out during Covid19. Screaming comes second nature especially if you are a female he his a bully. He also went back on our agreement, that if we asked the tenant of my SW1 property to leave that we could keep renting the property in SW18. Strettons receiver went back on this agreement with both Together Money/TCFL CEO and Priority Law’s knowledge and full cooperation, this resulted in both tenants being constructively evicted leaving me with no rental income for 7 months, thus forcing me into greater debt! Not the actions ones expects of someone supposed to be representing you in order to move this situation to best conclusion for all parties and certainly not his own! In summary, each of the three parties have indicated that one or other accept onus & responsibility to update & provide me with answers on the state of progress on the sale of not one, but both properties. The three companies have conspired to unnecessarily list the sale of both properties with estate agents, when full repayment of the loan could have been easily achieved from selling the higher value flat in SW1. I can only conclude the lower value will benefit a potentially friendly /incestuous buyer to purchase both these properties at an deliberately reduced price, by constructively selling both properties at an artificially low price in a closed or obscure auction.

I've been trying to contact someone to view a property on Surge Avenue, Walthamstow since Sunday. Both me and my partner have sent requests on Rightmove and we have called every day and been forwarded on to people until it's gone to voicemail. I have been forwarded to voicemails for Michal, Brinn and Henry. I have called reception several times and been told I need to fill a form, and can only enquire by email. I have emailed and received no response. If you own the property on Sturge Avenue, Walthamstow E17 and would like a buyer for it, please contact me. This is my Google account. Thanks, Toby. P.s. happy to amend the one star review if the estate agent ever responds and can provide information or arrange a viewing.

I personally think it's immoral for you to be assisting in selling off, of public land with Greenwich council. It seems money speaks more to your company than basic moral values. You should rethink your values rather than get involved with corrupt deals like these.
