An odd experience with Hunters Forrest Hill. Asked me the same set of ten questions twice, once on the phone and once by email. The sales negotiator Sarah Myford writes curt, cold emails, never bothering to address you or sign off as one would expect. As a buyer, I would expect a much more proactive approach from an estate agency, i.e. a telephone call back, an update on when we might get a viewing (instead I am chasing them) etc. Leaves one feeling rather confused.

Sorry to see your comments but thank you for raising this with us. We have looked back over the trail of communications with Sarah Myford and yourself to evaluate what happened. I note there were several emails between yourself and Sarah from 1st August to 4th August. You did provide answers to our list of buyer qualifying questions and if you had to repeat this I do apologise as that isn’t normal routine for us. I note however that Sarah Myford answered your queries regarding the property including information and lease length and service charges that you requested. Sarah was also communicating with you transparently about the status of offers on the property to avoid you being misled or wasting your time. Whilst Sarah didn’t disclose the actual figure of the offers received, Sarah did offer some information regarding the level of the offers and the position of the buyers vs what you advised your maximum budget was and your buying position. Sarah proceeded to contact the tenants at the property and agree access with them and book your viewing which was confirmed, and you were informed. However, the status of the offers changed before your viewing took place and Sarah contacted you to advise of this. Sarah advised viewing the property wouldn’t be a good use of your time any longer for various reasons ie the level of the offers now received vs your advised maximum budget were quite different and that all of the buyers who had made the offers were proceedable immediately, as an example of this none of the buyers who we had received offers from where waiting to start marketing a property. They were either chain free or in a complete chain making them immediately proceedable at the figures they have offered. We agree Sarah’s emails were short, but we don’t consider them sharp or curt having looked over them. They read to the point but courteous as various emails in her communications with you include “sorry just don’t want to waste your time” or “Thank you really appreciate it” or “Let me know your thoughts” and “Sorry for the delay the tenant has just come back” I’m sorry this viewing request didn’t work out for you but we believe Sarah followed process and was kind enough to keep you informed about the status of the property so you wouldn’t waste your time viewing something that no longer fell within the parameters of your buying criteria. Thank you once again for raising this point with us. We hope the matter is clearer with the above but welcome a conversation with you should you wish to raise any other points. You may reach us on 0203 0024089. We wish you success with your continued property search.

Sarah and Dave are absolutely outstanding, they keep me in the loop with all viewings arranged, always follow this up with thorough feedback on each visit and their stance, accepted an offer and they only took it off the market when all the vetting was 100% confirmed. Dave works very hard and often respond to emails out of normal operating hours. I had a bad experience with my previous agent who were poor with communications and had an attitude. Hunters can keep my property until it sells even if it doesn’t right now due to the current market of mortgages.

Dishonest, incompetent and terrible attitude

Should you choose this letting agents here are a few things you can expect as routine:1) Lying about the status of properties on the market and deliberately misleading all parties on the status of such properties.2) Arranging appointments to view properties that they don't even turn up to meet you at.3) Cocky, arrogant and sarcastic customer service. They really do not care AT ALL!Literally the worst letting agent you could ever choose to instruct. As you can see from the other reviews, dishonesty, incompetence and terrible staff attitudes are a feature. There is a reason for that. Be warned.

Great estate agents, I couldn't recommend them more. Very knowledgeable and always a phone call or email away. Sarah M, Sarah V, Dave and Bradley secured alot of viewings for my flat. They gave written feedback to me after every viewing which was really useful. They were all very helpful. Thanks again for all your help, I look forward to working with you again in the future.

Hunters Belmont Circle

Called Hunters Belmont Circle to arrange a valuation of my home. They asked me the reason for wanting to sell and when I told them it was because we're divorcing the representative immediately turned frosty and said they charge for valuations if your selling due to divorce. Imagine you're presented with a very devastating and traumatic life event, and then the pariahs come a hunting to see if they too can make a profit out of someone else's misery. Shameful.

Why all the complications?

Tried to book a viewing online of a property in South Shields. I received multiple text messages and emails asking me to complete a further questionnaire before they could proceed. This questionnaire then appears to have prompted another questionnaire (with multiple further texts and emails), which looked like it was going to try and book me in for a property valuation of my current home. I decided instead to call and try and book a viewing. The gentleman who answered seemed thoroughly disinterested and told me viewings could only be booked for weekdays, and only during the hours of 9am to 5pm. I explained that I work during those hours (as most people do, I would suspect) and he said, 'Ok then, bye' and terminated the call. Not sure exactly how anyone is supposed to view a property with Hunters.

Extremely bad experience with Unprofessional and Rude people... Preston Road Wembley branch

Preston Road Wembley BranchI regret to say that my experience with your service has been extremely disappointing. The level of unprofessionalism displayed throughout the process was astounding. From misleading information to outright lies, it became clear that your team was not transparent or trustworthy from the start.Unfortunately, after the deal was finalized, your true nature became even more evident. The promises made prior to the transaction were not upheld, and your team showed a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. I would strongly caution anyone against working with your company.Thank you for making this an experience I will never forget, but for all the wrong reasons.

Having invited several agencies to value my house, I went with the team from Hunters, Forest Hill, who really sold themselves to me with their enthusiasm, good humour and professional insight. I figured if they could promote their agency so effectively, they'd be just as good at selling my home! David and James were both very positive and genuine from the word go. Dave was brilliant at knowing what will really show your home off to the best advantage online, and on viewing. James was a dynamo agent when it came to getting possible buyers rounded up and viewing, and was a great diplomat - heading off a possible nasty situation at one point for me. Their initial valuation was about the same as the other agencies, but they helped me tweak and polish the presentation of my property until the final price was £30,000 more than anyone had expected, and in a superfast four days from first viewing to final bid accepted! Hunters are not the cheapest agency but in my experience they are worth every penny and I'd use them again in a flash.

I contacted three estates agents as soon as my previous tenants gave me notice to leave. Before refreshing the property, I was interested in knowing how much monthly rent I could get and the potential tenant interested in a such property. Dave was very professional, he knows the area and the property market very well, his advice and recommendations went beyond what the other two estate agents gave me (mainly only about the achievable monthly rent and their agency fees). Dave took the time to explain to me not just the type of tenants who would be interested in my property and the monthly rent that I could achieve, but also the recommended refurbishment necessary (at a reasonable cost) to appeal to that type of tenant in the area, to and achieve the maximum rent. He sent me photos and decoration ideas so I could act accordingly. It was extremely helpful. The professionalism of Dave and the agency has been outstanding. The fees were also very reasonable; the rent suggested and achieved was higher than the other two estate agents proposed. I highly recommend Dave R and his agency.

Dave at Hunters was amazing with helping us with our first time house purchase. From the start he was honest with us about the challenges of renovation and the pros and cons of the flat. We knew we weren't just getting sales talk. After our offer was accepted we had a few hiccups but Dave ended up saving the day with his calm and professional advice. We are over the moon with our first buy and can't thank Dave and Hunters enough.

We chose Hunters after having several other agents to view and value our flat. I met with Dave, who was by far the most knowledgeable and enthusiastic about our property and the surrounding area. Percentage was reasonable and our property was on the market very quickly after we chose Hunters. Hunters were very good at keeping in contact with us, both with feedback from potential buyers and feedback on the market. We ended up dropping the price of our property however felt very included in the decision and the reasons behind this. After our property sold, we used the conveyencers recommended by Hunters who were good and reasonable. We would definitely recommend Hunters and would use them again in the future. Thank you Hunters!

Thank you so much to Rob

Thank you so much to Rob, I believe, that’s his name for going the extra mile to get my wristwatch fixed. It had unfortunately come apart whilst they were trying to install a battery. I am eternally grateful as the watch was special to me. They were most apologetic and ensured that everything was done to get the thing up and working. So once again thank you for your excellent customer service.100%

Absolutely the worst estate agents

Absolutely the worst estate agents , I booked a flat viewing at 4:45pm on Friday evening , I was left a voice message in the morning asking if I couldn’t attend please let them know, I was attending so not necessary, I drove for 50 mins in rush hour traffic and got to the property about 4:47 pm 2 mins late, on the travel over I phoned up the company 4 times leaving messages saying I will be slightly late no answer, when I go to the property the agent wasn’t there , no phone call to my mobile at any point, I knocked on the door and the owners were there very surprised to see me 🤔🤔 I said hi I have a viewing which they replied oh we didn’t know and there has been no agent there today waiting for me, it was very awkward looking around and then I left, the whole situation was a joke how DARE YOU treat potential renters/buyers that way not even turning up and even letting the owners know, waste of my travel time and petrol money , email the agents and they replied back there was someone there but because u was 2 min late they left as there to busy to wait, CROCK of S**t no one was there confirmed bye the owners, I really hope your company goes bust and u all lose your jobs , I should of look at the reviews on here before contacting your agency as there shocking and the worst Iv ever see. For a company Shameful Sharon mcevoy rude lady stay clear

Hunters

Hunters- Wallasey branchHunters- Wallasey branch. Horrendous. Absolutely no compassion or care during Covid-19. Even though the landlord is probably taken advantage of his mortgage holidays. Had no working fire alarms since February!!! Don’t reply to emails or answer the phone. DO NOT RENT OFF THESE. House was filthy when we moved in took me 4 days to clean before stuff could be moved in- told them this and they just said rented as seen.

Avoid at all costs. The worst of the worst!

Couldn't have come across worse agents. Took two months to get the house on the market because of continuous delays with contracts, photos and communications. Extremely unresponsive overall, would sometimes have to call for weeks to get an answer or an update. The agents come to house viewings without knowing anything about the house and they lie more than any service provider I've ever dealt with. The absolute bottom of the barrel of estate agents. Avoid at all costs!

If I could give zero stars or negative

If I could give zero stars or even negative stars, I would. From renting the property, collecting the keys, discussing the lease renewal, to the recent issue with rent payments, it has been a complete disaster. When I first viewed the property, I told the agent at Hunter that my current lease was ending soon and I needed to speed up the process of getting the keys. The agent assured me it would be fine and agreed to hand over the keys on Monday. However, I spent the entire Monday chasing them from morning to evening, even going to their office, but still didn’t get the keys. When I arrived at their office, they told me some documents weren’t signed. I couldn’t believe they only realized this after I had to show up in person. The next day, I contacted them again in the morning, and once again, they weren’t ready. It wasn't until late Tuesday, right before their office closed, that I finally got the keys.A year later, when it was time to renew, Hunter told me the landlord agreed not to raise the rent, and I immediately accepted. They sent over the renewal documents, but before I could sign and return them, they called the next day saying the landlord had changed their mind and wanted to increase the rent by £200. I was shocked. How could they go back on their word? Hunter even insisted that the landlord had the right to do so because there were still two weeks before the lease renewal, otherwise, the landlord could end the tenancy. This felt like bullying, but I had no choice but to agree.Yesterday, I received the payment invoice for the renewal, but the amount listed was still the old rent. Since they issued the invoice, I paid the amount stated. Today, they realized their mistake and sent me an email asking for the remaining balance, even rushing me to pay immediately. I was at work at the time, so I couldn’t make the payment right away. Later, Hunter's agency called me, and instead of being polite, they demanded I pay as soon as possible. I told them I was working and couldn’t pay immediately, and that it was their mistake, not mine. They insisted I pay after work, but I had other commitments. I can’t believe they made the mistake but still had such a rude attitude.I will never use this company again, and I hope they go out of business to avoid further damaging the reputation of service companies in the UK.

I had Terrible Experience, Avoid at All Costs

I had an extremely disappointing experience with this estate agent. I paid a deposit for a flat, expecting everything to go ahead as agreed. Not only did they fail to give me the flat, but they also refused to return my deposit. Completely unprofessional and dishonest behaviour. I would strongly advise others to stay away, this is not how business should be done.

Poor customer service

My partner and I are looking to relocate to an area around a 5 hour drive away, we found a property with Hunters and booked a viewing. We loved the property so we asked the agent what to do next and he said email so we can get sent an application form; because we liked the property so much we emailed and called the branch to try and get ahead with our application. No answer from the branch after numerous calls over the period of an hour so we decided to go to the branch instead. After speaking to someone in branch (not part of the lettings team so they couldn't help us) they sent an email over to someone from the lettings department with our profile so they could send us an application form via email. This seems great, two emails, one from us and one internally expressing our interest in the property. However fast forward one week, with nothing from them and more attempts to contact from us, we finally get through to be told that someone that viewed on the same day as us has already completed all the applications and is set to start renting the property. No apologies or anything after explaining the situation and that we'd been trying to get in contact for a week.

They couldn’t care less

Would even put this into minus stars if I could. The most awful company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Very good in getting you in at first however soon as they have their commission from you they don’t care about you. To start we had to push back as we had agreed a move in date paid for moving van. Kye who was our wonderful (not) estate agent thought it was acceptable to give us a call at 16:00 the day before to say we can’t move in this date. Extractor fan was broke in the property was promised this will be fixed at the start of our tenancy. They decided to send someone to fix this in our last 2 weeks of our agreement. The state of the flat when we moved in was beyond a joke grime on the kitchen top bathroom smelt disgusting was dirty. Carpets looked like they hadn’t been cleaned since the flat had been built. Marks all over the walls and blinds. We’re not trying to be overcharged for a cleaning service when the flat was left in 10 times better condition it was left in. Horrible company who don’t care about you after they have their commission. Also abysmal customer service constantly have to chase them for things
