I recently sold my property in Brockley through Hunters. I had been a landlord for the best part of a decade and used Hunters to find my tenants too but decided to sell my property and exit the market due to tax and legislation changes. Hunters are really well placed to manage the barrage of changes but I didn’t want to continue to be a landlord. Dave and the team were excellent throughout the process and I was very impressed by their professionalism. I had lots of viewings and the final offer was accepted within 4 days. I would thoroughly recommend using Hunters for selling or letting your property.

Excellent experience with Hunters

We had an excellent experience with Hunters from start to finish. Richard, Brenda and Adam were fantastic throughout the entire process - always responsive, easy to contact, and happy to help with any questions we had. Everything ran smoothly with no issues at all, and their professionalism and communication made a potentially stressful process much easier. We would highly recommend Hunters to anyone looking to buy or sell a property.

One of my worst experience buying a house from hunters

One of my worst experience buying a house from hunters auction. House was listed on website and tenanted for a fixed amount of rent which I was told by the auction agent called Robert. Also house was in bad state but got told tenants don’t care so why do you. Only to find out later on that tenants have never paid anywhere near that amount and it’s so much lower. So was lied to first of all and then later to meet the tenants and for them to tell us all the work they was promised and they wanted the house fixing top to bottom. What an absolute joke and waste of time and money. Keep your money and go elsewhere they will tell you anything just to sell a house that is overpriced

I sold my property with Hunters in March 2025 and I was highly impressed with their service from start to finish. Both Harry Neal and Sarah Myford were great in getting the property sold and for the best possible price. Also James Ankers in the Sales Progression team really worked hard to get this deal done and offered support throughout all the ups and downs. I want to genuinely thank you all and recommend this branch to anyone in the area thinking about selling a property.

Rude, poor service - a must avoid for renters

Rude, get passed around from pillar to post while they try to ignore your requests or questions. Tried for years to get them to fix things but just continually fell on deaf ears. Now they're trying to claim issues are my fault which are down to shoddy contractors (which they use consistently, including at one point despite having had yearly gas checks, I get told that the previous 6 years hasn't been done properly and the build up that caused a leak was because of this. Everything is everyone's issue but theirs. Renters, avoid at all costs!

Outstanding service from Harry Neal and the team, highly recommend! I recently sold my property through Hunters in Forest Hill, and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. The team was professional, responsive, and genuinely caring throughout the entire process. They kept me updated regularly, handled everything smoothly, and made what could have been a stressful sale feel straightforward and positive. The whole team was supportive and efficient, a real credit to the company. If you’re buying or selling in the area, Hunters (and especially Harry) come with my highest recommendation. Thank you for making it such a good experience! Marie C

We worked with Sarah and Bradley to sell our flat. When we were meeting with estate agents from Hunters, another Big Name, and a more local agency, Sarah filled us with confidence and trust. It was her honesty, expertise, and positive outlook that sold us on them, and we were so pleased with their work and communication throughout the process. I absolutely recommend Hunters Forest Hill for selling.

Excellant service

Moving can be hectic, but Dulcie made it so simple with her support, prompt communication, and quick responses from the first viewing in Cullompton right through to the day I collected the keys. She was professional, reassuring, and always ready to help.

Awful customer service

I remain deeply disappointed in the way my most recent complaint has been handled at their Newcastle branch. The way the branch manager speaks to tenants is appalling! If you have a complaint then don’t expect any sympathy or accountability. We have rented this property for 11 years and in that time, we have been superb tenants but sadly that doesn’t mean anything to them. I anticipate a reply to this which will more than likely attempt to completely contradict what I’ve written here but just know that our experience has not been a positive one!

illegal procedures - 1 bed property Sparks Close (Terrible Agent & Terrible Landlord)

1 bed property Sparks Close, Dagenham, RM8 - Landlord and hunters agent where complicit in illegal procedures regarding discrimination. We went through all the paper work and wasted 2 weeks till they call me and tell me the Landlord dont want a baby in the property. Don't trust them slow untrust worthy. And definitely dont rent the sparks close 1 bed property, Landlord seems like a handful save your self

I sold my property with Hunters in February 2025. Harry Neal secured the listing for Hunters as he was the most prompt and responsive of the several agents I approached when enquiring about selling my flat. Harry, James Ankers, Dave Ramadhin and Bradley Walker were all very helpful, communicative and professional throughout the whole process going the extra mile to get the sale over the line. I highly recommend them to sell your property.

I had such a great experience buying my flat through Hunters Forest Hill a few months ago! I was a second time buyer and after a few experiences with other estate agents, I cannot praise enough the overall service I received with Hunters Forest Hill, even if I knew they were working for the vendor. I dealt with Sarah, Dave and Janae, and have found them all friendly and professional. For me, it started with descriptions on their ads which included everything I needed from a buyer’s perspective, from highlighting everything that justifies the flat’s value, but also pointing out what differentiates it from other flats alongside good photos and videos (they also always included floorplans, details of the lease and service charge/ground rent, unlike lots of other estate agents advertising on RM). This continued with the viewings, where they gave honest advice and helped me decide if this was the flat for me, which is quite rare amongst agents out there. I also felt valuations were correct and from that moment I decided to only view properties through Hunters Forest Hill. After my offer was accepted, they kept me posted on the progress via their sales progression team (the lady was also very friendly and professional). Something I would like to commend them for too is the after-sales customer service. I had a couple of queries a few months after the purchase/sale was concluded and they helped me, which they didn’t have to, and this was greatly appreciated. For sure when comes the time to sell my flat, I will definitely instruct Hunters Forest Hill to act for me.

My experience selling a property in the…

My experience selling a property in the UK with this agent was extremely frustrating. For over four months, they delayed the transaction. Despite my constant follow-ups, they kept giving me excuse after excuse, like mortgage problems or minor issues, saying it would happen next week. Eventually, I told them I would pull out and sell to another buyer, but Matthew insisted I still had to pay. I also want to warn people about this company, be very cautious, because in the contract, they include terms that are unfavorable to the client. Once you sign, they do very little to follow up, and you can’t even be sure if the buyer will complete the deal. Their main priority is just getting you to sign, and regardless of whether the sale happens, they still take your money. And when I tried to back out, Matthew actually threatened me, saying that if I didn’t pay, they would escalate it to other departments. I feel this is a form of intimidation.”

Harry and the team at Hunters worked tirelessly to both sell and secure our next home before Christmas. They were proactive, friendly, always easy to get in touch with and really helped us move the process along. Special credit also to James from the Sales Progression team as well as Sarah and Bradley. Thanks all!

On behalf of the PTA at Perrymount Primary School we would like to thank Hunter's in Forest Hill, who have continually supported Perrymount Primary School over the years. Whether it be hampers for our Christmas fair, prizes for our Summer raffle, or giving money towards a new minibus. They have a great sense of community, and with our school being so small. We really do appreciate all their help. Thank you very much Dave!

Robot refused to give me a viewing

Awful experience trying to arrange a viewing. Spent yonks on the phone with a robot. It asked me unnecessary questions and misheard things; then had to reconfirm everything. Eventually it was happy. I hung up and it started again this time by text. In the end it refused to let me have a viewing unless I told them my spending budget - which I wasn't prepared to do. Do not sell your property through these idiots.

Disappointed

Disappointed, we learned our house purchase had fallen through at the point of us being ready to exchange on our property. We found out that the office had known about it and left it to the agent, who had been looking after us, to tell us after she came back from annual leave! We never got a reason for the purchase to fall through and they even tried delaying us putting an offer in on another property. Luckily this was with another agent and we trusted our gut as the trust with Hunters had gone. 7 weeks later we were in our new home. Felt let down and disappointed with Hunters. This was our first and last time dealing with them.

"Avoid Hunters Property Management

"Avoid Hunters Property Management, Inefficient, Rude, and Unprofessional"My experience with Hunters Property Management has been extremely disappointing and frustrating. They have consistently demonstrated poor service, inefficiency, and a dismissive attitude towards tenant concerns.Ineffective Issue Resolution: Hunters fails to handle even basic maintenance issues. For example, a heating issue during winter was passed to the landlord without any attempt to troubleshoot. I had to step in and take personal risks to resolve the problem myself, only to discover it was a simple battery replacement. Their inability to perform even basic triage highlights their lack of professionalism and problem-solving capabilities.Creating Gaps Between Tenants and Landlords: Instead of acting as a competent mediator, Hunters merely relays messages between tenants and landlords, causing delays and unnecessary misunderstandings. This approach has damaged the relationship between myself and the landlord, as the agency often fails to communicate effectively or accurately.Rude and Dismissive Behavior: The staff frequently respond to concerns with a dismissive tone, making tenants feel unsupported and undervalued. Their arrogant demeanor gives the impression that addressing tenant concerns is a favor rather than their responsibility.Neglecting Tenant Safety and Comfort: Health and safety issues, such as rat infestations and malfunctioning alarms, were not addressed promptly, despite the serious risks they posed. The lack of urgency in handling these matters has caused significant stress and discomfort for my family.Minimal Value Added: Hunters operates more like a messenger than a property management service. They fail to provide meaningful solutions and seem content to pass the burden of responsibility onto others, leaving tenants to fend for themselves.Overall, Hunters Property Management has proven to be unprofessional, inefficient, and dismissive. Both tenants and landlords deserve better. I strongly advise against using their services if you value timely resolutions, respect, and effective communication.

We sold our house through Hunters after having a recommendation from a neighbour who had previously had a good experience using them. Throughout the process, I found them a refreshing experience compared to agents I’ve used in the past. Sarah was the easiest to talk to of all the agents I had over for valuations and not at all the β€œwide boy” stereotype, Joseph was a consistent and seemingly honest and straightforward agent for all the viewings and Jill, who managed the post-offer progression was good too. All gave regular updates and it felt like they were on our side throughout. I’d certainly recommend them and would use them again (though don’t want to move again any time soon!!!!).

Rachael Β· 13 November 2022

Agent replied Β· 12 November 2024

Thanks very much Rachel. We are all very happy with the result especially as we didn’t give into the fairly substantial renegotiation requests. It just goes to show standing your ground and using logical countering tactics works if agent and seller are willing to work together and commit to effort and time to countering a request for a price reduction. We’ve saved clients hundreds of thousands over the years by not giving in to renegotiation requests and countering with sound reasoning. This is where a agents value really is but commonly people choose an agent simply based on the cheapest fee offered which is often a false economy. Thanks ever so much for your support and kind words about the team.

Cant really fault any of the work from Hunters, I was looking for property to purchase for over a year and saw many estate agents from many companies. I was eventually fortunate enough to meet Joseph Lazaroo at Hunters and he was easily the most professional and trustworthy of all the estate agents I'd met. Genuinely a lovely guy and very helpful. Jill was also amazing. A painless process and very happy with the service I receivedPositiveResponsiveness, Professionalism
