Difficult move done swiftly and easily

Sue dealt with my letting and has been very friendly and prompt for anything needed. I would happily use her again. Unfortunately (for me), Sue was on holiday the week running up to my move in date and I didn’t get any communication about the process or timings of the move, I had to call and ask what was going on the day of. The inventory was also a frustrating experience. There was nothing major to report but a lot of smaller defects missed and bigger issues were significantly down graded in status. That said, I sent all the pictures and concerns noted to Sue and I had a maintenance team around the same day.

Fantastic Service

I have been using Martin & Co for a number of years to manage my rental apartment in Leeds city. I had a water leak which caused extensive damage to the apartment as well as other areas of the building. I was left with no flooring and stains all over the walls and ceilings due to the flood - this continued for three months. Sue really helped me and put my mind at ease after a miscommunication over my rent increase. The original agent I spoke to offered me an increase amount and then came back to me with an ven larger asronimical rent increase. She had no empathy or desire to look into the issue for me. However, Sue picked up my concern and took ownership even though it wasn’t her case. She was kind, empathetic, reassuring and went the extra mile for me. She clearly cares. Sue is amazing at service recovery and my faith and trust in Martin and co remains as good as always now.

A rollercoaster

Over the past 8 months, I’ve had a rollercoaster of feelings towards Martin & Co. At the start of our relationship, I couldn’t fault how insightful, approachable and professional Kate the MD was with understanding both my options in terms of selling or renting. There have though been challenges along the way, caused by a tenant which I’ve felt could have been better managed/supported with by Martin & Co. Communication is always key to helping you as a landlord gain confidence and trust in the management of your property. On multiple occasions, it’s felt like I’ve been chasing Martin & Co for an update rather than regularly being kept up to date. Or not getting the call/email back as promised which has been the most frustrating experience. However, most recently my faith in Martin & Co in providing an expected service as part of the fees charged, has been somewhat restored by the services of Sue who has picked up a property not in her portfolio at speed, to resolve issues as quickly as possible. Delivering on her word with communication commitments and providing valuable insight to help me in unknown territory. Ultimately, quickly installing some confidence and trust, to improve my experience as a landlord. Thank you!

Our property manager Sue was fantastic and communicative, some of her earlier colleagues let the side down before we were handled by Sue. Inventory report wasn’t well conducted and left a little vague initially and a few maintenance issues were a hassle. But when Sue took over we had a much better experience of Martin & Co. Shame the landlord is unable to do more work to improve the flat.
