GoogleAvoid at all costs
Very unorganised and unprofessional - contract to sign had multiple significant errors
Given keys to flat - very dirty and uninhabitable
No empathy from agency - they will lie to your face
Very rude, special mention for Alia Gould, does not know the meaning of good communication, stone cold heart and shameful that her and her cronies are allowed to work in the housing sector.
Flat was not cleaned professionally - tried to arrange this ourselves but told we aren’t allowed. Broken mattress, alcohol bottles, hair in draws, terrible smell, broken wardrobe all ignored by management.
Front door lock was broken and didn’t close properly and this didn’t seem to concern anyone either .
I won’t make this a long post.
In summary:
1. Do not rent/buy property with this agency
2. If you felt misled and are renting a property and don’t want it, don’t pay rent and contact the landlord directly in writing to say the reasons of being misled.
3. Please take my advice, I’m not joking when I say the period I had to deal with all this nonsense was the toughest in my life and I have been renting all over the country for 10 years.

GoogleInteresting seeing the reviews wish we had read earlier. Absolutely abominable service. Contacted to look at renting a property. Never rented before. Bullied/ harassed and pressured into paying a holding deposit before even seeing a property only having seen a video. Then trying to rush us into the tenancy still before physically seeing the property. Being forced to pay 1st month rent before seeing property in person or signing any tenancy agreement. Unsurprisingly it was a dump unlike the video which had clearly been recored at least 5 years prior.
Tried to raise concerns with Alia the manager with a bad attitude and a superiority complex. These were dismissed with girls you are inexperienced and should expect wear and tear.
Point blank refused a further face to face meeting and was outright rude when we went into the estate agency. Needless to say we won't be progressing with the tenancy and have escalated to complaints and financial ombudsman for full refund of all monies paid.
Please do not pay these con artists any money up front and insist on a face to face. They are their breaching their own published procedures and taking advantage of young inexperienced renters.

GoogleJust went through a very long and protracted sale and throughout the sales team were amazing. At the start Joe was the only estate agent who came to the flat who made me feel like I wasn't an inconvenience to their day, spent time to take me through the whole process and couldn't be more helpful, during viewings they provided clear feedback and also helped get the price we wanted. Throughout the long long time spent sorting the whole chain Debbie not only kept me up to date but was always on hand to answer questions and help chase people and I certainly felt like she drove it over the line.
Very appreciative of their efforts throughout.

GoogleExceptional experience selling our house with Debbie at Bridgefords. Sold our house quickly, always kept us updated and went over and above to keep everything moving. Thanks to Debbie’s hard work and competence we overcame challenges from other parts of the chain and moved in on the timescale we needed. Debbie took a lot of stress out of the process for us. Would highly recommend.

TrustpilotDisrespectful and Desperate, Data Breach
We viewed a property and after loving it in person offered a cash offer of asking price their and then.
Within the same hour, I got a call from the agent who shown us round to be told it was going to Auction.
I checked the listing, and it didn't mention auction, but this was updated the next morning.
The estate agent had every opportunity to call us to inform us it was an auction property.
It seems we had a lucky escape since we have found out the property has had two collapsing sales, for such a desirable area and its price point, these are huge red flags.
I called the agency first thing during the morning after our viewing at 9am, to say we aren't interested, we viewed a property to buy not to be told until after viewing it that it was auction, oh and it get's better they tried to make out it was a good deal, yeah a deal that would cost us 4.5% of a minimum of 6.600 in auction fees that we never knew of until afterwards and would never have considered had we of known this information before the viewing.
I said, please don't get anyone to call me, but the auction company called me anyway, I tell them we are not interested. I have since had two more calls from the auction company ( which i understand is a sister style company to this agency ).
I've had to block the number and inform my solicitor of a data protection breach, as I said I did not want to speak to anyone from auction.
Also had a call in desperation from the agency saying oh the price has dropped. " Firstly, no it hasn't because of the fees; secondly, we said we were not interested, why was this not respected.
I have never heard of this agency before we did the viewing and I wouldn't be surprised by the many low reviews; they will be able to continue in business much longer.
Hoping this review grabs their attention because this is what happens when you harass someone.
Don't follow correct and legal protocol and respect people's privacy.

GoogleVile vile company who are not fit for trade, They will steal your money, break promises made and flat out lie to your face. The manager Alia is a nasty piece of work who lies, is abusive and threatens you.... how she is allowed to get away with this time after time reading all the reviews, Obviously she has friends within the higher management. It also seems like they love to make fake reviews to cover up the bad.
Oh and the higher management Countrywide plc??? I would not even bother contacting them just contact the senior bosses and the Financial Ombudsman because the customer complaints department JUST DO NOT CARE, I've spoke to numerous people who have contacted them and they literally do nothing about
the treatment this branch of Bridgfords give their customers.
Oh by the way, their new trick after fake positive reviews is to say the negative reviews are not genuine customers to cover their tracks but this is being passed along to the Financial Ombudsman and GOV UK as I have now spoken to multiple people that have had the same issue and lies but all have proof they were customers.
Listen to the 'REAL' reviews and stay WELL WELL away.

GoogleSo many of these reviews are so so wrong and hateful. Alia is definitely one of the most kind hearted estate agents in Leeds! From the point of a phone call to signing documents she was extensively supportive and her team is so sweet! As a student and a full time worker they made this so easy for me and fit everything around my timetable which I doubt anywhere else would ever do. I’ve spoken to many estate agents in Leeds and I can say with confidence that Alia is probably the only one I have any respect for as others have been so rude and ageist in acting like they have no time to listen to a situation. Thanks Bridgfords!

GoogleEstate agent review
We used Bridgfords to purchase a property in Leeds. I am very appreciative of Debbie and her efforts to chase all parties. Despite the long, drawn out process, we got there in the end. Viewings early on were very helpful and Debbie was flexible in when we were able to view to property after the offer had been accepted. Debbie has also been very helpful since moving into the property (eg utility bills etc). Other members of the sales team were also efficient in passing on messages and providing updates when asked. Thanks again for all the help!

Trustpilot1 Star is too many stars in my opinion...
I approached Bridgfords and Michael Poole last year to see about selling my late fathers Bungalow. I found their sales tactics to be a bit off, immediately trying to upsell me services I personally felt had no value, insisting it would make every difference. I begged to differ and having a bad gut feeling about them and a positive experience with Michael Poole I chose Michael Poole instead. Then came the phone calls trying to get me to switch and saying they would do a better job. After the second phone call I made it clear I was definitely not going to change my mind and asked them to remove my number from their records and not call me again. I received several other phone calls 2 or 3 weeks apart from each other and after repeatedly asking them to not call me again, the final call I received I told them (not very nicely) that if they contacted me one more time I would report them to the police for harassment as I had made it clear on several occasions I didn't want them to contact me.
My advice to anybody looking to sell a house is don't even contact Bridgfords for a valuation. You can look at my review of Michael Poole to see how I found the service from them overall if you want to.
The date I have recorded as my experience is the date of the second from final phone call i received as the final one was from a mobile so I cant be certain of the date without calling a few numbers to check.
I have purposefully waited for the property to sell before leaving this review.

Trustpilotwould not recommend this company to any…
would not recommend this company to any landlord. The fees are extremely high, with additional charges that are not always made clear from the outset. Communication is poor, and it is often very difficult to get hold of staff when you need support or answers.
The contractors they use are also significantly overpriced, leaving landlords with unnecessarily expensive maintenance bills. For the amount charged, the level of service provided is disappointing. Overall, my experience has been frustrating, costly, and poor value for money. I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere.

TrustpilotSTAY AWAY - BRIDGFORDS DARLINGTON
I purchased a property from Bridgfords in December 2025.
They have been holding the keys. I arranged my own contractors to start renovating the property. Bridgfords decided to change the locks without my consent and knowledge, I have been chasing them for almost a month now to get the money refunded back to me but it has been a struggle and a battle.
Do not use this agency as they cannot be trusted and are horrible and difficult to work with.

The worst out there, put us through so much drama, very stressful and mentally draining, their mortgage broker is absolutely useless, 4 months later we were declined, absolute waste of time, waste of energy, they just didn't want us to buy it for some reason, maybe because we are a different skin colour to them! GoogleI rented with Bridgfords for a significant number of years until August 2023, and found a number of interactions with this company to be borderline if not absolutely fraudulent, especially charges on departing the property where what I suspect were years old photos were used to justify additional charges. Unfortunately these were submitted directly to the TDS mediator who was unable to see the date and time stamp for when the photos were taken and therefore Bridfords had plausible deniability. I also suspect my former landlord was impacted, for example when Brigdfords claimed to have done a few inspections (which I assume was a contractual obligation), however I know for a fact that no one attended the property. I'm sharing in the hope others will be saved the pain of dealing with Bridgfords.

GoogleI strongly advise against using this agency due to my recent experience:
• As I was busy with my business and moving out by the end of July, as well as preparing for my 3 week travels at the end of the month, I requested a video viewing. The apartment appeared fine.
• I was assured a 6-month break clause would be included in the contract and that the property would be professionally cleaned. Neither of these promises were fulfilled.
• My proposed move-in date was 28/07/25, but the agency failed to provide the keys due to a failed EICR.
• On 29/07/25, I requested to cancel the tenancy after a staff member (Hassan) mentioned the EICR would most likely fail again. The branch manager, Alia, overheard this and reprimanded him, then refused my cancellation request, even though I never signed the tenancy agreement (despite them still sending me reminders to sign).
• When I visited the office to voice concerns, Alia became defensive, rude, and ultimately kicked me out without reason. When I visited the property (escorted by a staff member named Ollie, since they still could not provide me with the keys), I showed Alia photos of the apartment’s condition. She dismissed my concerns by saying her own house looks the same and promised to send me photos for comparison, which I have still not received.
Her behaviour was unprofessional and manipulative. Based on my experience and similar reviews, this agency preys on young couples, international students, and first-time renters.
To make matters worse, Branch Manager Alia has accumulated over 40 negative reviews, which speaks volumes about her unprofessional conduct and the agency’s ongoing failure to address it. Any good reviews about her seem fabricated by herself 😂.
This has caused unnecessary stress during my holiday, and due to their serious incompetence, I have decided to pursue legal action as well as report it to Leeds city council.
Please avoid them at all costs, and make sure to read the other Google reviews before considering them.

Trustpilotignored, patronised and falsely accused
3 months into our tenancy we've experience the following with Bridgfords/Countrywide/Entwistle Green (no, I have no idea why they all take turns to email me or why they have different names if they're basically all the same company):
* being told I had incorrectly logged repair reports online, despite following the printed handout we were given upon arrival to the letter. when I explained this, all I was met with was "the name of the person who gave you this information". I didn't really care about that, I just wanted the repairs done. This employee then ghosted us and never messaged back.
*several issues we reported in our first week STILL have not been addressed, it's a joke.
*it took around a month of emails and phone calls with various other employees just to get somebody to sort our broken boiler and thermostat out; we had no heating all that time and this was when it was still freezing every day.
*we were instructed to order a bin from the local council and pay for the bin ourselves, then minus that fee from our next rent payment. despite being told to do this, Countrywide/Bridgfords sent us a threatening email saying we were in arrears. I replied back saying this was rubbish, only to be ignored for two days. I only got a reply when I sent a follow up saying I would message literally every day until they backed off and apologised. Funnily enough, 5 minutes later, they finally replied.
*it for some reason took a month for them to remove the 'for rent' sign outside. again, as soon as I complained, it magically disappeared shortly after.
*I had to fix a broken kitchen drawer myself within the first month myself because they refused to acknowledge the issue which had been present since day 1.
*customer service is woefully slow. if you want to communicate via email, you get whinged at and pushed towards phone calls, which you then get dumped onto hold for and have patchy reception anyway.
*during those phone calls, I'd be told 'this will happen, the landlord is sorting this', but nothing ever happens.
*we've had 3 - soon to be 4 - visits from a contractor with regards to our bath/shower. how it takes this many call outs to repair one tap is beyond me.
*this latest instance of the contractor coming around has now broken the bath tap, no hot water, the seal is leaking, he's caused some damage to the kitchen and even our front door doesn't shut properly due to some equipment he'd had resting against the door for an hour. What does Bridgfords/Countrywide have to say about this? 'You should have pointed it out due avoid another unnecessary visit to the property'. Yeah okay, i'm so sorry for beinga dumb tenant who refused to let the contractor leave until i'd magically detected various issues around the house and bullied him into fixing them. if we'd arranged for this to take place when out of the house anyway, what would this 'Emily' have said to me then, "you should have stayed at home and not gone to work to prevent another home visit". what nonsense. this woman is on another planet. I have filed a formal report against her because she shouldn't be offering her own opinions. for a supposed professional, her entire email was nasty and sneering.
all in all, incredibly useless company. but I will be happy to update my review with positives if they actually prove they can deliver from now on. We shall see...

TrustpilotValuation?? They can't be bothered!
Booked in a valuation with Bridgfords. They called the following morning at 830 which was very efficient. Was advised over the phone that this would take 30 minutes. Had a phone call from the Sale branch on the morning of the appointment. Asked if i intended to put my house up for sale, said it would be dependent on the equity we have in the house. He said the valuation would take and hour and a half and he could send a virtual valuation. It sounded like the guy couldn't be bothered at all. If this is the level of experience you get from someone that is trying to get your business, I would hate to think about the experience you would have selling through this place. Really poor service!

TrustpilotLandlords (and tenants!) - avoid this agent
To use a phrase, Bridgfords / Countrywide are an omnishambles, when it comes to being a landlord's agent.
Landlords - Do yourselves and your tenants a favour and choose a different agent.
You will end up doing just as much work managing Bridgfords (actually Countrywide) as you would managing any issues directly yourself.
Two particular incidents that wound me up were when they charged us for work done by a decorator, which the decorator later admitted was never carried out; and secondly after forgetting to charge a tenant for costs due to them, they charged us instead, after deposit refund - without agreement or notice (money they still refuse to refund).

Called multiple times to try and get a viewing booked in. Was told multiple times someone would call me back. Got bored of chasing them.
They seemed far more interested in getting me to speak to their mortgage broker, and I hadn’t even viewed any houses with them yet!
I have no idea how they manage to sell any houses. Quite clearly a load of sales people trying to hit targets and not actually that bothered about selling houses.

GoogleVery poor experience. Don't believe the fake reviews on here. Simply try and book viewings and experience their 'service' for yourself. They often fail to make viewings then don't apologise when you phone to question where they are. There is a reason this company's properties stay on the market much longer than their competitors - it's nearly impossible for: 1) Somebody to answer the phone. 2) An agent to attend a viewing. The attitude of the branch manager Alia is shocking. Unable to take any criticism and tries to talk over you. Surely at this stage the senior managers of this outfit must be aware of the disaster Leeds bridgfords has become.
